First things first, THANK YOU for opening this thread and giving us a place to express our displeasure with today's shenanigans.
I might be in the minority but I liked today's episode and here is why.
1) Husband-wife: I saw Raman's character development today, I saw him act like a man who is about to lose his son yet again and I saw a husband taking out his frustration on the person he is closest to, his wife. There is no doubt that Raman loves Ishita and knows that she is the reason that Adi is warming up to him and he proved that when he said what he said to his ex-wife. He didn't mince any words to let her know that his Ishita does not have a problem with Adi, she loves his son and cares for him deeply. So we cannot question putter's love for the missus.
Now coming to the HURTFUL and I mean very hurtful things he said to his wife. You know I am not a big fan of the MALE gender right now so this little shenanigan that puttar pulled on the missus today just pushed me off the edge about MEN in general. *sigh* *they are so freakin stupid* Anywho, I am not justifying the hurtful words he said to Ishita but trying to look at it in a realistic angle. Raman knows he can only take out his frustration on his wife because no one else will tolerate his bullshit like Ishita will, so he used the anger from the morning add panic of not finding his son in the house, add to that the complicated relationship he shares with son and the frustration of not being able to control the situation...all this together made him snap and he said things that he obviously did not mean but anger got the best of him and he just vomited out words without thinking the damage they will do to Ishita. Anger is our worst enemy, we do and say things in the heat of the moment which we would never do or utter in normal circumstances. Unfortunately words are like arrows once it leave the bow, there is no coming back, words once spoken cannot be unspoken! Puttar must pay for his callousness and the hurtful things he said to the missus, you hurt the one you love the most but that doesn't mean that you take your loved one for granted and he has taken Ishita for granted.
I was trying to be okay with the yelling session of puttar until he folded his hands and stopped Ishita from accompanying him to fetch their son which he claimed is HIS son. That's when it looked like he has taken Ishita for granted, it is one thing to take out your frustration on your wife and completely different to take her for granted. That last part just pushed me off my sanity and I lost my marbles at puttar. Not only did he call her "Ishima' in a condesecning manner but he insulted her love for him and the selfless love she has for his good for nothing son. Putar needs to pay for this crap and I really do hope that the missus gives it back nicely.
2) Self respect: I do not think Ishita has lost her self respect as of yet she might very well lose it in the upcoming episodes if she doesn't standup for herself but till now she is just being the calm one when everyone around her is acting bat shit crazy. She was quite when Raman blew his fuse because at that moment the most important thing was to locate Adi, she acted naturally like any partner would when the other one is acting irrational and psychotic. Her self respect will be preserved if she doesn't apologize to the brat, and actually leaves the Bhalla household with Ruhi in tow once the ladle beta returns home.
I want Ishita to leave the Bhallas not to teach them a lesson but I want to her to leave for herself. All this time she has lived a life as their bahu, taking decisions for their betterment, being a support system for a broken Raman while ignoring her self and her growth. I want her to take a break from her family, take her daughter and live a few months of her life foe herself, her happiness and her growth. If they show this it will be a great women empowerment message because taking a break to heal oneself does not equal abandoning family, and this message is badly needed in our society especially for the Indian women who post marriage never think about themselves. I know hoping for a lot here but sochne pe tax thodi lagta chain, 😆
I have a lot to say about Toshi ji but my hand hurts so I am gonna stop here and may be come back later to update more.
I like the episode because it was realistic, a married man taking out his frustrations on his mum wife, a mother in law berating her daughter in law in front of the grandchildren, a father desperate to find his son and a man failing miserably at string a balance between being a father to his lost son and a husband to his resilient but hurting wife. I like realism so I enjoyed it even though my heart bled for Ishu.
Puttar puttar puttar...sigh! STUPID MEN and THEIR STUPIDITY is gonna be the end of their kind, we just need to figure out how to procreate without them and then there is no need to have MEN around. 🤣
