The best post on the forum at the moment Bhanu! You've looked at the episode from a totally different angle and let us into the minds of all the players last night. And a big hug to you for sharing your pain with us. Proud to have you here amongst us! 🤗I am going to copy paste the response I posted on Ruby's thread regarding last night's episode

A big round of applause to the CVs for an episode that will probably go down as one of the best in YHM. Kudos to the writers for such a powerful episode. The powers that be in the show really go the full length for the finale of their tracks, don't they 😆 Phir bhalle the journey to that episode may be bumpy, end aisa karta hain ke hum dung reh jate hain. In addition to the script, it was full of stellar performances...from Shagun's desperation to Mihir's angst and Raman's closure, everyone did justice to their roles. After showing us an episode like Friday where Ishita was hellbent on making Sanjana Mihir's sister and it seemed we were watching a comedy show rather than YHM, we got a gem of an episode last night.

I loved everything about last night's episode from its start. But of course the highlight was the balcony scene 😳 And I also don't see any Mahanta in Raman's decision or his becoming an Ishita clone. He finally did today what he should have done years ago, accepted that Shagun and him were not meant to be and in fact that is what was best for him because he deserved better. Man proposes, God disposes. You cannot escape your destiny and yes life treats no one unjustly. Last night was Raman's acknowledgement that fate did him a favour by getting Shagun out of his life. And it is best to let bygones be bygones. Plus they've had six years to come to terms with it so no need to add further misery and lose more precious time. Loved it when he said that despite you hating someone, if you are destined to be together, you can't escape (my take was he alluded to Ishita here) and no matter how much you love someone, the tighter you want to hold them, they will slip out (Shagun, where he tried his best to not let her leave him). The dialogues given to Raman for two minutes describe the gist of what life is all about and the writers penned them down perfectly. How can you move on in life if you don't let go of your past? Raman now wants Mihir to do what he started to do post the party bench convo with Ishita. That was the night when Ishita made Raman realise that she was married to him and that meant everything attached to him is as much her responsibility as his. Ruhi was the means of that connection but his family which included Adi also came with it. Ishita also made him see how destructive his hate for Shagun really was. And that is when he started his journey of letting the past go and stay where it deserved to be. They had finally come to a stage where despite her lecturing, Raman began to understand where Ishita was coming from. Hence his insistence the next morning that she will also accompany him for the blood tests, as much as for his support as for Shagun to see that they were a unit now in the true sense. Ishita was no longer a nanny for Ruhi that he had brought home. And Ishita claiming Raman as Mera Raman last night does not mean that she is responsible for this change. Raman has always been a good, decent human being. A fact that Mr Iyer saw before he married his daughter to him and Bala saw soon after he got married to his favorite saali/sister. It was only Ishita who had to realise that her Aam was kachcha and not rotten the way she believed him to be. And last night she also witnessed what a gem she's married to and why Mihir is so devoted to his Raman Bhai.

His forgiving Shagun was not out of some Mahanta but for the simple fact that people who do not matter in your life should not be given the power to hurt you also. So just let the past be and let it go. Quite a few people did not like his reference to her as the mother of his children and that he would be upset if she was called by indecent names. Well that is a humane thing to do, koi ghair ke liye bhi woh lafz sunna nahin chahe ga, yeh tu phir bhi uss ke bachchon ki maa hai! And yes like he said, that is an undeniable fact that she is the mother of his children. Plus now is the first time that Ashok has shown some inclination towards marrying her, so the fact that she was living as his keep for the last six years and was not bothered by it is redundant. She had no choice! So now if there is a chance and her family can make it possible for her, then being a brother Mihir will have to do his bit. Blood ties are like that...despite all your differences you cannot deny the cord connection. And it's not as if she hasn't suffered for her choices. Hence the use of Bechari by Raman.

The other thing that made me happy was the fact that nobody made an issue with Raman for hiding this. In my opinion this was Mihir's secret, his prerogative. And Raman was simply honouring his friend's wishes. So was glad to see that Ishita and Iyers saw it for what it was.

That's a brilliant post yaar... Loved it totally...

But, i differ in one place. You quoted that Raman will shed tears for Shagun when she leaves this world forever. Personally, i don't think so. He shared one beautiful bond with her in one stage of his life... His first love, His children's mother... But, same woman gave him bitter memories too...

He worshipped this woman for almost 6 years... To be cheated by her... He has hated her for almost 6 years again...

Now, Ishita has helped him let go of the remnant hate which was left in him... Now, he's in a zone where he sees Shagun as Adi's mother... Where there is no love or hate left for her... I don't think he can ever shed tears for this woman anymore... He had been subject to a roller coaster of emotions right from love to hate and i don't think he can ever feel for this woman again...

He wanted a closure to this mess... Because, he didn't want this woman anymore in his life and that is not going to happen unless she gets Ashok...

It was beautiful reading this. The way you focused on all the characters and how they let go in their own way. 👏👏👏
Honestly thought, I could not digest what Raman said. the dialogues were brilliant and all, and even his statement about how Shagun has a right to find her happiness, however misplaced, I could understand. But when he said bechari Shagun, that was weird. 😳
Like I got the what they were trying to show with Raman in here, how he finally let go and was finally in peace with himself and his life, but I wished some of bechari Shagun dialogue could be avoided.

Oishu ... tell me something .. what does BECHARI means ? It is used when we are pitying someone ... and that is what Raman was trying to explain to Mihir ... imagine a woman who left everything ... just everything for the sake of one dream of better life ... and six years after chasing the same dream ... she suddenly discovers that her dream may well remain a dream forever ... imagine her desperation ...

this is what Raman was referring to .. he was pitying her ... not sympathizing with her.

Hellooo,
So I got a PM from a friend on this forum and she asked me to repost what I had posted in another topic. She said my post is very relevant to this one so I should repost it here.

Below is the copy paste of my post, and it talks about letting go!

I concur that Indian women on TV are portrayed as demi Gods who can do no wrong and this show is not different, having said that this show is very different in portraying it's female characters namely Ishita Bhalla.

For one, she is shown as a successful career oriented women who is managing her family and her professional life. Very realistic and forward thinking from the days of parvati and Kyunki Saas bhi kahbhi bahu thi (Thank the LORD!). Second, let's not forget that both our leads are shown as broken individual with a bruised heart, it's just that they deal with things differently as every human being does. When Ishita was scarred by Subbu, she didn't turn bitter but made her career is her focus, on the other hand Raman also made career his focus but that was fueled by revenge. He wanted to show Shagun what Raman is capable of, these are two different approaches to heartache. Now who does one to relate to more is entirely personal. For me, after going through my share of heartache I decided to make career my focus not out of spite and revenge but because I wanted to get over the pity me game. And these kinds of experience in our lives shape our personality and how we react to situations. Raman and Ishita are both justified in how they chose to deal with heartache, albeit Raman's struggle consumed him and often got the best of him.

Even though Ishita has done a lot of stupid things that are way beyond her character sketch, I wouldn't agree that Raman is conforming to Ishita's ideology and becoming Mahan. I just finished my psychiatry rotation and had the fortune of sitting through a few marriage counselling sessions, and what I noticed was this, there are 5 stages of Loss and Grief.
1)Denial and Isolation
2) Anger
3) Bargaining
4) Depression
5) Acceptance

These are the 5 cardinal stages of loss and grief, the difference is how long one takes to get through these stages. In case Ishita, she got through these stages quicker, whereas Raman got to the Acceptance stage today but it took him some time. He now ACCEPTS(closure) what happened to him and that his is PAST.
Another point that would make him look 'Mahan' would be when he said, 'Shagun is making our lives miserable because she isn't happy in her life, and everyone deserves to be happy'. But this also proves how different YHM is from the usual crap we see on TV, the lead of the show is accepting that no one is inherently bad as a person, it is their situation that make them react in a certain manner, and this is absolutely true in real life, let's think of all the people we know in our lives, do we know anyone who is inherently bad and evil? I don't, however I do people who have hurt me but that doesn't make them evil, it's the situation and the selfish nature of us human beings. Selfishness does not equal evil, and Raman made that point brilliantly, that Shagun is Selfish but that doesn't make her evil, she wanted the best in life and she went for it, she too deserves to be happy. I think we should applaud Balaji for showing this reality in a daily soap because we usually we are subjected to vamps whose soul is so evil that they would put Darth Vader to shame. Shagun isn't a vamp, she wants her kids, money and a cushy life, she is selfish but she isn't evil and that's that Raman meant when he asked Mihir to forgive her.

Ishita saying, "Mere Raman" I think she finally saw HER man, and only hers! Raman is his, he has moved on from Shagun completely, he has finally reached the 5th stage of coping with his loss and grief. From what I infer, Ishita meant "Mera Raman" as possession! Raman is hers now and Shagun isn't a baggage that their relationship needs to carry anymore.

And lastly, I think Raman and Ishita both need to work on their relationship and offer apologies to one another. Raman's reluctance to share his past, his secrets, his aspirations and his feelings with Ishita leaves her in an insecure place. And this by no means is a justification for Ishita's action, she is equally at fault for being a peddler and jumping to half baked conclusions. I really hope that Ishra have the much needed conversation and work on their marriage, Romance is good and all but their marriage lacks communication and trust, for which they are equally to be blamed.

As you can tell I have a problem with length, I tend to ramble on and on lol. Sorry for the essay.

@Bold: To be frank, since we have always met in Paru's thread, I never knew that you had such a deep insight Doc ... Bang On ... I couldn't have agreed more to all of it above.

Raman was being a mature man who finally decided to look at the entire scenario from an unbiased perspective and the result was all but the truth ... I think yesterday it was Happy was trying to help Mihir, not RKB.

The other thing that made me happy was the fact that nobody made an issue with Raman for hiding this. In my opinion this was Mihir's secret, his prerogative. And Raman was simply honouring his friend's wishes. So was glad to see that Ishita and Iyers saw it for what it was.

@Bold: Missed this in my post however YES .. this is what makes this show beautiful .. they know what needs to be dramatized and where to draw the line ... it was not Raman's secret ... and not his place to spill the beans .. so no blame can be put on him.

Where were u all this time girl ?? Please share your thoughts more often .. It was a pleasure reading your thoughts.
