On several other forums, I've seen that when a woman supports a female character , she is called a feminist as if it is a derogatory word. I am no self-proclaimed OR nationally acclaimed feminist, but somehow Ishita's behaviour today made me feel as if woman are really weak in love, especially when portrayed on Indian TV.
I have issues with what Raman did today, and way more than that, I have issues with Ishita's reactions to it. Here is a man Raman who has not touched or willingly romanced Ishita in all these months even though he admits to finding her beautiful on many occasions. Then suddenly when he realizes that he hasn't given his wife any romantic moment to remember, and his first wife reminds him of their romance, he thinks " Hmm Why not make Ishita feel comfortable with this marriage so that she doesn't feel left out ?". So the man who doesn't even talk to her respectfully most of the time, decided to force her to dance in the rain with him. She agrees happily. This is where my problem begins. She completely gives in while he is only taking calculative steps to make sure " Kuch kuch hota hai " for her. Then Raman makes it appear as if he will kiss her, but instead emotes in a way which makes it look like he regrets what just happened and he is hesitant to go forward despite what all he just did. In the meanwhile, Ishita smiles asking " HOW did Raman know I needed this ?
WOW, Ishita ! like really!! Do you not know and did you already not tell him in the past that he reacts to almost everything Shagun says or does ??? Do you not see that he pities you and purposely planned everything just to make you feel better after hearing what Shagun said ? Do you not understand that he cares for you as a friend, and didn't like that you were left out when everyone else shared their love stories and you did not have one ?
Any woman in Ishita's place would have expected more from this relationship after everything IshRa have shared together and after all this time, but Ishita chooses to be content with Raman's attention that he gave her without any intention to do so.Had it not been for Shagun's intervention, Raman would not do what he did. If they had to show that he does that ONLY after hearing Ishita call him khadoos then the Shagun scene was NOT needed. Execution has failed in my view, and didn't leave an impact.
Also, for the love of God, can we as a country stop showing that men are firm in their beliefs and do not get over evil first-wives even after 5-6 years, but the women rejoice at the slighest hint of romance ? Can Ishita not be shown as a desperate woman who craves for her husband's love even though he romances her only to make a point, and stops midway while romancing her ? Romance should be spontaneous. Special moments should be spontaneous, not planned because you pity your spouse. If Raman has really started loving her, he should be doing these things without any precursors. Attention without intention should not make a woman so weak. I hate that they ruined Ishita-Raman's love story for me. This was the only Indian love story I was following, but I give up, and I just needed to vent. Sorry people. Please respect my opinion even if you disagree, and do not take offense. 😊
