I appreciate your POV and welcome your thought. Having said that, I do not support you one bit and I here by present my counter POV for that.
I loved the beauty of this scene yesterday for one sole reason .. I could believe in what Raman did or what Ishtia yearned for.
Raman has of course been harsh towards her from the beginning of this relationship but have you noticed the subtle change ... they used to bicker and outdo each other in the beginning and now it has moved on to the cute vaali nok jhonk. There is a change in the way they speak to each other.. a simple instance like pagal madrasan was said with disgust or contempt by Raman and now he uses the same phrase while smiling also. There is a change.
Coming down to yesterday's scene. If you notice, what affected Raman was the fact that his wife thinks he is unromantic. The catalyst happened to be Shagun's scene.
Notice, that he was simply offended with Shagun's stance and left the room in disgust. He was angry from her disgusted from her. If he had to prove a point to Shagun, he could have done something in front of her and the family to prove a point and show it to her. That is when he would actually be demeaning his present marriage. Instead, he left that room, albeit disturbed.
He came back later once Shagun had left and insisted Ishita to accompany him. Notice his expressions, he wanted to spend some time with her. He was as affected as her. He gave a lame excuse to Mihir to stand by and instead went ahead with Ishita.
And then finally the dance. He did not want to prove a point. It was the man in him who was affected by the words that his wife thinks he is simply an arrogant man with no romantic soul in him. Therefore, he urges her to do something childish like dance in the rain and says ...
"Mai bhi to dekhu ki mai vakaye me khadoos aur insensitive hoon" .. he found something missing in his relationship and wanted to mend that. So it was a beautiful attempt from my end.
Coming down to Ishita ... a woman who has been constantly rejected on the day of her engagement ... rejected numerous times by so many men in her life, rejected by her husband many a times ... and now the ex wife of her husband mocks her in front of her relatives. When Shagun told Raman is romantic, she just demeaned Ishita that you can never have what I shared with Raman ... you will never be good enough for him. Another sort of rejection.
So, her self-confidence will be at its lowest given the situation. If you look, she did not react. She was just sad. Extremely sad. She was working through everything like a robot.
She did not even accompany Raman with all her heart.
So, when Raman asked her out ... and danced with her .. and treated her like a woman for the first time in her life ... she was absolutely overwhelmed ... look at her ... she was close to tears ...
She was earlier reluctant and stopped him but she eventually agreed after Raman's same dialogue of khadoos and insensitive .. that is when she understood Raman had heard and what he is going to do is for HER ... solely for her and not to prove anyone else any point.
Even during intial dance she was reluctant and it was Raman who kept coming back at her .. she gave into her sensations much later.
something like doobte ko tinke ka sahara ... what Raman did brought back the woman in her ... it brought back her self confidence in her as a woman.
For me, this is what made this scene entirely beautiful.
BUT, what made is extremely beautiful was the talk on the next day when Raman says that some moments are to be cherished between the couple and not for for any one else.
He definitely repeated his stance about the earlier night that whatever happened was between them and a progress in their relation ... it was not to prove any point ...
This was not at all planned or a show of mercy by Raman. It was a moment of realization by Raman that something was missing in this relationship and it was time he mended that.
Your thoughts, agreement or disagreement are welcome.
