Disclaimer .. my past discussions on this forum make me write this here ... this is discussion sake only & this is my POV .. it need not be anyone else pov on this forum 😛

By chiding over his mother ... or by saying I "SPOKE" to my brother did he actually take ISHITA's side ... wasn't that the action of a person taking the route of AVOIDING AN ISSUE ..

Where was the stance taken ..

Now at the risk of being beaten black & blue on this forum .. lets look at what we know of the past .. Shagun fell in love with Ashok .. for whatever reasons material et all ... she left her husband legally & went to make a new life with another man .. she took a son & left a daughter behind .. ( if they had gone to the courts the courts would've also divided the issues between the 2 parents) ... Where is the CRIME in this .. Yes its MORALLY WRONG ...

Subbu was in love with a woman for 12 years .. he promised her marriage & RENEGED on the promise ..( now he can be sued for breach of promise here ..while its not a criminal offence its a civil offence) for a reason which could be over come ... in todays time & science he could use his sperm hire a womb & eggs & have a baby of his own ... he chose to DITCH ... YES what he did was MORALLY WRONG ... He took the path of LEAST RESISTANCE ...

But this post is not about whether Subbu is wrong or Shagun is wrong or criminal ...
Its about 2 brothers .. Bala & Mihir .. one is the elder brother in a position of influence .. while one is a younger brother ..

Whats a post which has no controversy .. so for the controversial bit .. here goes ...

Mrs. Iyer .. chose Raman as her SON .. but Bala who has been with them for longer .. is still acknowledged as SON IN LAW ..

But thats not the issue .. in discussion either

Mihir .. what he did was STAND WITH RIGHT ... he took the side of his BROTHER IN LAW .. ( in indian households .. bahu & damad are called the outsiders .. while blood relations are insiders hence i wrote that ) ... & since he KNEW HIS BIL is right .. HE GAVE UP TIES WITH HIS OWN FAMILY ..

What makes Mihir;s case unique is that ... he was far younger when all this occurred .. he was immature ..but he still took the stance of RIGHT .. while BALA was a matured individual .. he was in a BIGGER & BETTER POSITION as the ELDER BROTHER TO INFLUENCE ... but he still chose to Sit by the side lines ... or rather he still DID NOT TAKE A STANCE ..

Yes he has been shown as curt to his mother on occasions .. but has he CUT TIES with the woman who ruined Ishita's life ... NO ..

hence my ques .. where are the PARALLELS ...

Did u never wonder why bala's character was shown to be Insecure ??

About Shagun being morally wrong Ruby, more than morally wrong, it's the way she handled things. She started a relationship with Ashok secretly- this is the thing which I found the most infuriating about her. Okk, she is in love with Ashok, material or whatever, fine, but instead of having an affair with Ashok secretly and cheating on him, she should have come clean from the start. No, instead she kept on having an affair for months, and then when she decided to come clean, she berated Raman for not having enough money and making her happy, where she should have been sorry, apologising to Raman for it.
Just expressing my opinion on Shagun here, no offence to anyone.😊

Exactly, Ishita seems the most composed, calm and oriented while she is the one who is impulsive, emotional and confused most of the times. Her side of story, if depicted delicately, will mark a turn in storyline.

In reality, people with deep emotional issues to work through often present a composed, formal and calm demeanor while there is a lot simmering and brewing within that they don't want the world to see.

The Subbu problem is dealt with ... note the one ques he asks her ... R U HAPPY in our MARRIAGE .. the sacrifices that ur making is not ruining ur happiness right .. HE NEVER ASKS HER IS SHE IN LOVE WITH SUBBU

The spectre of Being the PERFECT PATI ... to Ishita the perfect man was BALA . the man who stood by his wife thru thick & thin ... which was exactly anti thesis to what Subbu did for her ..

Now link this to the license track .. & the need of Raman's to be THE PERSON TO BRING IT BACK FOR HER .. the many monologues on how it was worth it to bring happiness to her face .. the many times he finally felt he had achieved the impossible he was "THE MAN"in the eyes of his wife

Raman did understand what Ishita wanted ... but i have my doubts Ishita understood what Raman wanted her to believe

The Talk will happen .. yes it will ... but it will happen only when the Mi mi problem is resolved ... this will bring to light for Raman his "Tyaag ki devi Biwi" .. and for Ishita she will see a glimpse of how Raman has moved on from his past ...

hmmm , when did he felt that he achieved impossible "the man " tag in his wife s eyes? please enlighten me. Well I have not seen that kind of satisfaction in his eyes by monologues even. he was only keened for her smile and as dues return to what she had done till now for his daughter and his family.

yes he asked her about if she is still not over subbu. she actually came there for lunch not for just time pass, she noticed there was something wrong the way he went out from bedroom saying first love has different meaning for each person. and she wanted to clarify if he has any MU. he asked you were saying first love is not easy to forget. so it was direct question to her she clearly got it and she got confirmed it when he stopped moving spoon post she took subbu s name. In fact I really liked that convo . this is what we are missing these days. ishita I fell for in beginning is missing now.

Param reveal track: I don't think he stood up to prove himself. he did it for her as he knew she is from good family and she was mother of his child with clear character. neither he did it to make bala low because it was only ishita 's husband s responsibility to prove her innocent to show that he trusts her .

I have not seen her direct comparison for bala vs subbu as perfect pati if am not missing.

LOL, Ishita knows raman has moved on. I don't think she needs to confirm anymore. both of them know that they are over their past. fact.

Hey Ruby 😊
I love the guy so any reason to talk to him is always a pleasure and I have been missing him these days 😒 and I agree Raman has seen Ishita place Bala on a pedestal, in her mind he is the ideal man

In his mind somehow Bala is the closest thing to Subu Ishita has in her life... somehow he thinks she looks for the younger one in the older one and that is what makes him want to rival Bala, not just because he is the perfect guy in his wife' opinion but because he is the closest stand-in of the guy she wanted for herself.

And hence he wanted to prove to Ishita he can be better than Bala..do things that he does and all only for her... he wants to be the man she deems perfect at least for herself if not perfect in the actual sense of the word.

And somehow while he is competing with the phantom he is also competing with the real thing, and seeing the man he knows Ishita isn't wrong in praising him during the time when she landed in jail he wanted to be there for her but was visibly hurt seeing Bala, it was only when she said she tried calling him and he was unreachable did he calm down but he doesn't want that to happen again ever, he wants to be the only one Ishita leans on for support.

In his mind and heart he has become very possessive about Ishita and wants her to do the same but since he cant show his feelings openly she is confused about where he stands.

Also in the past he lost a wife to another man because she thought he fell short on her expectations which were monetary and selfish... and he knows Ishita is no Shagun so she wouldn't leave him but...BUT he cannot stand that she can be closer to another man because he can provide her the emotional comfort she seeks and hence wants to become her numero uno. He wants her to know she can rely on him, he wants to be her safety net and her first line of defence.

I love how you have drawn a contrast between Mihir and Ishita and yep it stands so true in her sense of righteousness she is her own Mihir

Awesome post and Discussions!! If the CV's even ponder on even 1% of the matter written here YHM will be a fabulous serial... I am sure somewhere the CV's meant YHM to be all this..but got jumbled and lost between the drunken treatment to tracks they gave. And as some one said.. It seems like YHM is getting back on track slowly. I sincerely hope the CV's have an end to this story visualised, and work towards that end, unlike other serials that go on and on randomly to die a sudden death or given an end for the heck of it! It is an altogether different game when stories have symbolism and parallels shown..

Superb discussions everyone...

Shagun is a literally a wild card...y'day after Suraj "blackmailed" her with the article from years ago when her family disowned her, she took a stance to "DO ANYTHING". Everything Shagun does is motivated by selfishness. Wonder what she's got up her sleeve now? She never works with a full deck, so it may not be surprising if Suraj finds trouble at his door to divert his attention from meddling in Ashok/Shagun nuptials...it may yet wipe that smirk off Sunny bro's face.
Will Shagun inadvertently have a hand in Mihir/Mihika marriage taking place esp. if Param plays both sides and hints at Ashok's interest in Mihika?

Okay reading a lot of debate on Bala vs Mihir too here... something I never saw coming and cant make a reply to everyone... so am just putting in my two cents here, again.
Mihir and Bala in their own ways have picked the harder path, the one where they stood with the one who is right over the one who is related... it may seem one had it easier over the other but in its own way they both have had it hard.

Bala - coming to him his family is now bifurcated... we know Ishita and Subu were involved for 12 years, which is a long time; I assume it is also during this time Bala and Vandu started dating or even before that... so he has seen Ishita grow up and looked after her as a younger sister. He loves and has loved both her and Subu in a similar way - that of an older bro - but, BUT things took a snag when the relationship fell apart. He went against his own mom and bro because to him there was never any difference in my head between Ishu and Subu, for him and hence he couldn't stand when Ishita' inability to conceive made Subu and his mom overlook her as a person.

In the only epi that Subu appeared we saw how Vandu tells him why is Subu here - only one of them can come to a family function - its maintaining such a delicate balance here and being caught between a rock and a hard place - Ishu is Vandu' sis and hence family, Subu is his bro and family but what makes him pick time and again Ishita over Subu is she did no wrong... she was wronged but it has to hurt a guy to be divided like this.

So I am really looking forward to this second child of Bala Vandu - the ceremonies and birth of this child would be a joyous occasion for both families what now changes the equation is even Ishu is married now, so will inviting both Ishita and Subu be the easier thing to do or would it be fanning a new flame here?

And Mihir... what makes his plight horrible is his sister not only broke her marriage she chose to do it the way she did, women break their marriages too but Shagun chose to become a keep of a man only because of his wealth and not love... Raman and the Bhallas were so good to her, she had it all - a hubby crazy about her and a family that is so good but she chose her own greed over all of this and worse she chose to do it AND brainwash the son against the father.

Had Shagun walked out on Raman because she genuinely fell in love with Ashok and later opted for the right way to go about things - divorcing Raman and THEN being with Ashok Mihir wouldn't have a cause for shame here which perhaps has other collateral damage we don't know about - namely their dad. I had made this post sometime back - Circle of Life for Poornima and Shagun? where I have given my take on the history of Arora family as per me.

So in short none of these guys has it easy but one thing is for sure the Iyers are lucky to have such amazing Son-in-law' in Raman, Bala and Mihir.
