Nicely put Aani. I agree on what you said on Ishita being a layered character and on why Ruhi was brought it. My musings on this -

Whenever I see the way Ishita's character is depicted, I get reminded of the line from Castle
"Too many layers to the Beckett Onion"
She is like an onion with several layers but a core akin to a heart of gold, though probably the rawest, nd layered to hide the hurt.
I felt - in the scene where a drunk Shagun was rattling out how Raman loves her and how he changed when she left him, Ishita's hurt was shown very beautifully. She has her own doubts whether she will ever be loved so -more because of her biological issues - which was shown in the party scene also
Probably that insecurity is not allowing her to open up.

As for Raman, he inadvertently compares his present with the past and steals his own joy

Their problem is an attraction towards each other and not knowing if it will be returned. An insecurity in an actually secure relationship., due to their own past experiences.
Their security is Ruhi - who binds them together - and that's why she came into the scene - where both were vulnerable- to reaffirm the strength
I too am waiting for the much needed talk though not in a hurry as they need to build courage to fall in reciprocated love

Also, yesterday's scene when Ishita was talking about how broken relationships hurt, I felt she was talking about Raman and not about her.

However, what Subbu did was simply cowardliness. He did not commit a crime. It was a mistake and that too is one side of the coin. If we really look at the other side, how many of us do not think of kids when we envision our lives with our partners? Lets face it. All of us do. It is simply the choice he made. He was not ready to accept an alternative ending to his happily ever after. And in my personal view, it did good to Ishita, because her truth would have surely come out eventually and that would have ruined her life in an unrepairable manner because then she will be forever stuck in a marriage where she will still hope for eternal love and support in her difficult times, but her man will no longer be able to return the same to her.

So, in my view, indeed they are parallels. Both of them went against their own blood in their own manner and supported the better halves of their siblings.

HAI BHAGGU .. i asked u to be gentle ..😕

Disclaimer .. my past discussions on this forum make me write this here ... this is discussion sake only & this is my POV .. it need not be anyone else pov on this forum 😛

By chiding over his mother ... or by saying I "SPOKE" to my brother did he actually take ISHITA's side ... wasn't that the action of a person taking the route of AVOIDING AN ISSUE ..

Where was the stance taken ..

Now at the risk of being beaten black & blue on this forum .. lets look at what we know of the past .. Shagun fell in love with Ashok .. for whatever reasons material et all ... she left her husband legally & went to make a new life with another man .. she took a son & left a daughter behind .. ( if they had gone to the courts the courts would've also divided the issues between the 2 parents) ... Where is the CRIME in this .. Yes its MORALLY WRONG ...

Subbu was in love with a woman for 12 years .. he promised her marriage & RENEGED on the promise ..( now he can be sued for breach of promise here ..while its not a criminal offence its a civil offence) for a reason which could be over come ... in todays time & science he could use his sperm hire a womb & eggs & have a baby of his own ... he chose to DITCH ... YES what he did was MORALLY WRONG ... He took the path of LEAST RESISTANCE ...

But this post is not about whether Subbu is wrong or Shagun is wrong or criminal ...
Its about 2 brothers .. Bala & Mihir .. one is the elder brother in a position of influence .. while one is a younger brother ..

Whats a post which has no controversy .. so for the controversial bit .. here goes ...

Mrs. Iyer .. chose Raman as her SON .. but Bala who has been with them for longer .. is still acknowledged as SON IN LAW ..

But thats not the issue .. in discussion either

Mihir .. what he did was STAND WITH RIGHT ... he took the side of his BROTHER IN LAW .. ( in indian households .. bahu & damad are called the outsiders .. while blood relations are insiders hence i wrote that ) ... & since he KNEW HIS BIL is right .. HE GAVE UP TIES WITH HIS OWN FAMILY ..

What makes Mihir;s case unique is that ... he was far younger when all this occurred .. he was immature ..but he still took the stance of RIGHT .. while BALA was a matured individual .. he was in a BIGGER & BETTER POSITION as the ELDER BROTHER TO INFLUENCE ... but he still chose to Sit by the side lines ... or rather he still DID NOT TAKE A STANCE ..

Yes he has been shown as curt to his mother on occasions .. but has he CUT TIES with the woman who ruined Ishita's life ... NO ..

hence my ques .. where are the PARALLELS ...

Did u never wonder why bala's character was shown to be Insecure ??

Aani ... hmmm food for thought ...

Hey Bhanu thanks

Like I said, it was sometime during the accident track when Mihir was being touted as the culprit and the first inkling of him being related to Raman had come out when I felt that Bala and Mihir are indeed parallels. If you remember my OS, Halachal Hui Zara Shor Hua, I had categorically made Bala as the cupid between Ishra rather than Mihir, this was one of the subconscious reasons ...

Yep I rem that OS in fact I asked for a sequel 😉😆

For a while, I had debated that why not let Mihir confront Raman than Bala ... and my grey cells countered that if he is related to him via Shagun then he will be too young when they got married and Raman will be an elder brother like figure for him so either of them will have a relation of mutual respect and love yet they may not be comfortable opening up to each other. Therefore, I decided for Bala.

I agree Bala is and was the more apt choice. Mihir is closer to Raman but there is also a line that makes Raman someone Mihir looks upto and he can go for any matter to Raman but the reverse doesnt stand true, being an elder sibling has its own pros and cons 😳

Coming to your post, I loved your apt description. I for one thinks that it is what the story is moving towards. Remember Neil Trisha engagement and the conversation between Tandon and Ishita. That was the first ever time, Ishita had opened up about her past in front of Raman. She compared her story with theirs to bring a good ending for Mihir and Mihika as well as Neil and Trisha. Although, it was a small hint about her past, yet it was the first time ever.

Yep she spoke for the first time openly about that to save two couples but honestly I am still unclear as to whether Raman heard her on the day cos he was standing quite away from her and Ishita wasn't being so loud

So, I think it will be obvious for her to draw the same comparison when Shagun's truth eventually comes out. In yesterday's episode, while Mihika was unhappy from Mihir (that is another side of the story. Mihir is getting married to that woman. She has a RIGHT to know about his life .. be it his darkest secrets. In fact, I was like shocked when Mihika said, I think Akka should talk to him. I felt she would say I will talk to him. But then, somewhere down the line, we are constantly reminded that this is indeed a serial and not real life.) Sorry for the ranting ... So, in yesterday's episode, Mihikar was angry from Mihir ... but Ishita chose to view the logical side of it .. the impartial viewer who understood the other side of the coin.

Oh Mihika being angry with Mihir is completely valid but I think sending Ishita had a reason, which was that Mihika was quite angry and upset and probably didnt want to blast Mihir full on, the girl kept her head steady but then you see she comes to the Bhalla home and hears Mihir' words she is shocked and stunned all over again and this time her temper comes to the fore... in an amazing way her pair with Mihir is doing wonders for her... she is becoming a calmer person who thinks before she acts because of his influence. But his fear I understand it too which made him act so and still does - he is ashamed of what his sis did, she was publicly disowned because of it which isnt taking it lightly and he fears that should the Iyers or any other girl' parents learn he is related to an adulterer they might view him through the same lens and question his sense of fidelity

Mihir who has no one of his own, has tried to find solace in a borrowed family will definitely be at his vulnerable best if he is asked to share his darkest secret. He will obviously overreact and there he did. Later on, the same guy, upon realizing his mistake, honestly comes home and bares his soul in front of his new family, makes honest promises and his eyes tell the tale that he will be dead if not for Mihika. No wonder, the guy is desperate to marry her.

Kudos to Raj for pulling off both the sides brilliantly.

I loved Raj last night, the guy is so alone and in Mihika he has found the one person he wants to start a family with, his desperation is also owing to the fact that he no longer wants to return to an empty home... ever wonder why he isnt like one of those guys who wants a girl who cleans and cooks? He can do all of that himself - better than Mihika 😆 - but he just wants someone to come home to someone to hold and love and call his own that is all, he has no other expectations

The parallel between Bala and Mihir. Both of them had hard choices to make. Both of them had to go against "Blood is thicker than water.". Both of them would have gone through their set of inner turmoil. So, I think it will be a brilliant closure if something like this happens.

Yep they both had made the choice of the right thing over the easy one and I think this is where the parallels will be drawn and Mihir as a character would gain a new dimension from being a shadow, mentee and loverboy to a person with a very strong sense of right and wrong

A true Mohabbatein which is not perfect, yet beautiful. A marriage which will will prove that people with bruised past can have a better life and a beautiful one at that. They can find and feel love.

this is what makes the show amazing to me - it is not about one love and true love... it is about LOVE... a person in a real world doesnt pine forever for their ex, a part of their heart may carry that flame but eventually it becomes only a memory too you have to live in the present and cant always look behind for that

I will now refer to one of my replies to Ruby's post .. A Tale of Two Brothers ... To save space, I request you to read my reply.

https://india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4141501&TPN=2

I think it somehow connects the dots in this post as well as to why is each and every character behaving the way they are.

totally concur

So, all in all, I for one want to believe in the following things at this point.

1. Even though it will definitely have a lot of speed breakers, MiMi marriage will happen for sure. In fact, I have an inkling that going by Ashok's character, he may create problems in MiMi marriage later on .. but that is something to be pondered later on.

I so agree on this too and Ashok gets some kinda high from chasing married women it seems... if you ask me that says a lot about the guy and makes you question how was he raised and by whom 😳

2. Shagun will definitely be facing abandonment however when and how is to be decided because she may look as the dumb blonde but a woman who can put all her relationships at stake for the sake of a life with all the glamor and glitz will definitely leave no stone unturned to keep it.

yep honestly I think she will end up as Mrs. CK 😆the saas will be sorry he meddled in his bro' life

3. Simi and Param .. Will Simmi ever realize Param's truth and more importantly will she accept it or decide to live with it because at the end of the day, Param though a creep is loyal to her which makes his character real?

he molests girls how does it make him loyal Bhanu? cheating is not just done when both parties are willing ... in chasing other women he is already being disloyal and he is a monster at that... I guess he kept his word because he swore by his child which makes him loyal to his own blood and not his wife

4. Of course, the most important Ishra. With all these interesting twists and turns, how and when will these two damaged souls cross the bridge and find their Mohabbatein.

oh KP answered that 500 epis 😆😉

How? In what way is hard to understand, and maybe that's the creativity of their writing.

Hey Anku thank you and yeah until last night even I was lost but maybe that was the idea so people continue watching wondering when the hell will this be over besides TRP aunties love the drama 😆

But as episodes pass by, I've been getting a bit of idea. Like for example the way the track had Ishita getting misunderstood by one character then the other after what Param did. And now as you pointed out, in the same track they've shown visible emotional growth between Raman Ishita. They've shown some aspect or the other be revealed about either to the other. And I hope what you said is how they think of the track too.

yep despite facing the odds things are actually getting stronger... Raman and Ishita are getting closer for eg how beautiful was it she saw him in tears gave those tissues and said they dont suit him... she cant see him in pain of any kind, which is why repulsive as it was and is she got pervy home too cos his sis went against him and hurt him on the day of rakhi... sirf ruhi ke liye now only exists in words... now its all about ek duje ke liye which is why he could resign for a smile of hers and she fought for his post 😳

Although Ishita has always supported Raman, but it seems through every track, every such incident she breaks through one wall and another into his damaged/scarred heart. And her standing up for Mihir in spite of the reveal of his family once again break another barrier between them. And at that point when Raman thinks of Ishita bringing Shagun home, his anger and frustration will have transformed into amazement.

yep people assume he should be in love with her now, she should be in love with him now... which they ARE... but they are so scared of these feelings they dont want to give in to them... all this overwhelming goodness they see in each other is what would break them one day... how long can you fight your heart esp when you think all that you wanted and dreamed of is right in front of you all you need to do is find a little courage and faith and hold out your hand to grab that chance at happiness which has long evaded you

Maybe this is the breakthrough to a track where Ishita's pain over her past is touched with too..

yep 😳

Brilliant post by you. Enjoyed reading it. And it was so perfect that I couldn't come up with anything to explain it all better 😆

thank you so much Anku and a lovely post by you as well 😊

very well said Aani...

i too felt the similar equation of bala and mihir when we ,the IF have guessed shagun to be his sister.
Mihir could easily get shagun out of his life,as there was no one to bound them together,i mean their mother.
but bala has,who comes here for every function or something even though her son broke ,subbu broke all ties with ishitha. In one of the earliest episodes we see in some function when subbu comes with his wife vandu seems to be mad a bala and for that bala's mother replied that subbu is her son and he will come. But there too bala seems to be sorry for Ishita. Both Mihir and bala are being deceived by their own siblings. But their choice of standing in their right position made them to select their laws,Raman and Ishita respectively. They discarded their flesh and blood relation for their relation that was selected with their hearts. And this is wonderful. I don't feel that the return of Mihir's mother or shagun would hardly make any difference in his attitude. His love and loyalty will always be showered towards Raman. That's why he himself says he is ruhi's chachu not maamu. We dnt know whether Adi know about his Mihir maamu. I guess he know. That's why i guess we dint get a scene between them.
Anyways what we have to wait and see is that while resolving the problems of Mihir and mihika, how will Raman and Ishita will understand themselves and come closer.
i know many of us are waiting for the entry of subbu to make our Raman realise his feelings and we are eagerly waiting to see him in full form of jealousy. But seeing yesterday's a small scene made me realise that that is never needed for him. What they need is to understand each others pain and be each others medicines to heal the wound. Ishita has successfully started doing it even though Raman has not fully told every thing to her. Before his vocal she heals. But Raman had to move a long path in this. Because every emotion of him is overpowered by anger and nowadays the anger is fully showered on Ishita. If ,this time subbu comes,Raman will hurt himself and thus Ishita. They have to take their own time to heal.
in case of Ishita she feels jealous sometimes. But she makes herself believe that Raman will never love her. She doesn't makes him attract. This is what Raman made her believe.
like redwine said everything is related to the growing relation of Raman and Ishita.
did i made it too long...sorry.

thanks Remya and no need to be sorry for the length of reply on my posts... you do see mine 😆 yep Bala and Mihir had a tough task at hand but they chose siding with the person who is right over the one who is related to them which in my opinion makes them those rare lovely human beings which are hard to find. And I love how you have drawn the fact that he is called chachu and not Mamu by Ruhi and Adi doesnt rem him it was evident on holi he may have seen a younger mihir as a child and only met him on holi so I dont think so he knows who Mihir is

Oh Subu is not needed for jealousy as per me too, but what makes him, his entry in this tale essential as per me is the fact he is the past here.. Ishita' story cant be complete without him and hence he is needed

Ishita does sometimes show she feels jealous and a sense of ownership over Raman but being unsure of their status, his feelings and hers - her importance in his life as a wife... is what makes her back out not to mention she is scared of giving into her feelings too cos once she goes there she knows there would be no coming back

they are Oishi only we couldnt see things because we were angry and pissed and suffering from IshRa deficiency syndrome or is it DivAn deficiency syndrome 😆

Indeed, I too was thinking with the material & actors in their hand they still have lot to explore in the show...
If and when Subbu appears
I would like to see each and every feeling in a detailed manner, like
Ishita - Even though she feels she is over Subbu and moved on ,I think she didn't find the closure. All the feelings of betrayal, heart break are bound to come forefront if faced and interacted with him again. She may not want to react but even though she is mahaan & all since she is human too she could loose control and all those things may come crashing on her and it would be interesting to see how Raman acts then.

Raman - With Raman his biggest insecurity is his loved ones leaving him . So with the last few episodes (& with the help of yours & Ruby's analysis) we figured out that he understood Ishita has not really accepted him as a husband then if the Subbu thing comes up it sure spices up his insecurity. His nervousness, hesitation, selfdoubt ,jealousy all will surface and not to forget KP doing all these would be a treat to watch out..And when he accepts his love he is bound to be possessive.

hey thanks Anoo

Yep Ishita needs closure cos in my opinion she never even got a chance to tell off the guy, express her anger at his actions which is what is needed really cos she just went numb which was evident in the only epi we have seen him in in dec and she has just reigned herself in and coiled herself tight but one day she has to snap

And Raman... i think it would be a very interesting time for his character also it depends when Subu enters post him accepting his feelings to himself at least or being in denial of them😉 one thing is sure he is gonna put up a fight this time.. he lost a wife to another man once and lived post it but this time he cant do that not because of facing any shame or societal humiliation but because this time around the love of his life is and will be at stake
