PROLOGUE :

Dear Mr. Santa Clause,

My name is Ruhi, and I'm eight-years-old. I know I'm too old to believe in you, but I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to get what I want, and this year I don't want any toys or games. This year, I want a mother.

I've already tried talking to my father about this, but he keeps saying we're fine on our own. I don't want to be on my own anymore.

Mother left Father when I was a baby, and I know he's sad and still misses her, but I want a mother. I want my Father to stop working so much and come home more. A mother would make him spend more time with us.

She has to be pretty, and she has to laugh a lot, and know how to play great games. She has to know how to properly kiss a boo-boo away and do all the things a mother can do like pay attention to me.

She must love kids, but most of all my father and me. I want her to tuck me in at night, and greet me in the morning, and I want her to listen to my day, and let me eat as much cake as I want.

I know this is a fairly simple request compared to some you must get, so I'm giving you until Christmas to find a suitable mother for me. There are two weeks left, enough time for you to start looking.

Please, Mr. Claus, you are the only one who can help my father and me.
