Mihika was in her office when Ashok happened to mention the truth about Shagun and Mihir being siblings. He managed to have gain the desired outcome of causing the rift between the delightful lovebirds which were soon to get hitched.
Ashok, no matter how ruthless and cunning he was, the facts he laid sure had some base. When Mihika rushed to Mihir to ask this question, she was left baffled and shocked with his inability to defy Ashok's accusation, that made Mihika really angry, she barged into the Bhalla household and narrated the entire story while Mihir looked down shabbily and almost on the verge of tears. Mrs Iyer and somya chitti were shouting at the Bhalla's to have hidden such an important fact which was equally retaliated by Toshi ji. Among all this, Ishita was just standing there, frozen! She couldn't believe that her husband whom she trusted more than anyone who now, had become an integral part of her survival had hidden this fact from her.She had always managed to give him as much space he required to deal with his past, and after everything he had the audacity to lie to her, when she tried to inquire about the Rakhi she found at Mihir's residence. The thought of betrayal had engulfed her, she felt wronged and cheated for the first time in her marriage. Sure, others had hidden the truth as well but it didn't matter as much as the fact that he had hidden it.She looked at him, with her wet eyes almost asking for an explanation, when she couldn't really see anything in them except perhaps slight shame and pity for Mihir to have been caught. She heard him defending Mihir in front of everyone saying he had been the one who had told him to hide the truth and Mihir had no such intentions though Mihika was unperturbed about his baseless defences, she was too hurt and destroyed to have been able to listen to him. She scurried out of the house so that her tears are not seen by a bunch of people, she had started to encompass in her life.
Then Raman looked at his teary wife, who stood there without uttering a word, neither did she support the Iyers nor the Bhalla's.She didn't keep a stance to calm both the parties which was unlike her.
She was just standing there like a pole, not wanting to be a part of this mess. She looked upset but yet calm, he thought.
He walked closer to her and kept his hand on her hand. She immediately jolted his hand back and rushed to her bedroom.
Raman shouted at rest of them. He said "that's it!" And told Toshi ji to not say anything else as they were at fault,He apologised to Amma and somya chitti and told them to over think the situations in some time after they have calmed down and clarified Mihir's intentions and walked to his bedroom.
In the bedroom
He saw her reading a book on the couch.
He screamed.
" Bahaar itna tamaasha ho raha hain and you're reading a book, are you out of your mind?"
She didn't respond, though the book with which she was hiding her face had now become wet, the ink had started to fade with the salty water which incessantly flowed from her eyes.
He again shouted " Ishita! I'm talking to you bloody hell"
She wiped her tears and tried to focus on the book in her hand.
Raman got really pissed and walked closer to her and snatched her book from her and shouted " what the hell? Say something goddam it."
She didn't match his eyes, though they were still wet and swollen. She got up from the couch and walked out of the bedroom without paying heed to him while he screamed her name " Ishita Ishita Ishita a zillion times.
Eventually Raman sat on the couch threw the book and kept his hand on his head and sighed in anger and exasperation.
It was night time and he was convinced that she will come home to put Ruhi to bed, he went and sat close to her daughter while she played with her dolls. He was looking at his watch and for a minute wondered why isn't Ruhi shouting " Ishima" which is what she's doing most of the time. He callously asked Ruhi, where's Ishima? She looked up and responded, " she's at patti's she needs to do lot of preps for the wedding, she has told me to come sleep with her at 9, I shall leave to sleep with her and shravu in 10 minutes papa. "
He shouted " what the hell? You sleep here only! Why do you have to go there ? And why the hell is Your Ishima sleeping there ?
Ruhi spoke " Arey! Why can't I sleep there? And so what,If Ishima is missing her mom and sister and she wants to spend some time with them?
Raman was befuddled to learn the pace at which his daughter was maturing, he'd actually have to think of better comebacks with this little one, she left him stammering and then he finally spoke " oh beta! I mean papa misses you na! He can't sleep without you two".
Ruhi said " oh that way! It's just one day papa, you'd be fine. Goodnight" and she walked away after giving him a kiss, leaving him bereft of the only chance he was left with to talk to his wife.
He couldn't risk going to the Iyers, the wrath and anger that was still prevalent among the southies could have easily resulted in his death, he wouldn't have been surprised had they planned traps to get any Bhalla under their threshold and strangle him/her to death, they were extremely annoyed and pissed, rightly said they had every right to be, but what tortured him was that Ishita wasn't a part of their anger, she was just silent, he wanted her to reprimand him for his brazen act of lying and hiding the truth to her but she wasn't even speaking a word which was killing him, he was yearning for a heart felt conversation with her where he could atleast try to put his case in front of her or if not, then be at the receiving end to one of her long lectures, he actually wanted one of those. But she said nothing. He just couldn't get himself to believe that.
He tried calling her phone but it went unanswered.
Then, he went to the balcony to catch a view of his wife, but he saw nobody there. He took out his frustration on the passer by. He shouted at the guard so that she could hear him shouting and storm out of the balcony shooting one of her lectures at how ungraceful it was to shout in the middle of the night. But all in vain, no one came out except Pammi aunty.
He was extremely restless, the empty bedroom was killing him. He couldn't sleep on the bed for sure, he just kept drifting from one side to another, while she was the only one on his mind. He was frustrated and the lack of sleep aggravated his irritation.
He again called her but this time it was switched off.
He went to the couch and tried to sleep there while he was remembering the familiar scent of her hair and soap on the couch. It gave him some peace and he eventually managed to get some sleep.
In the morning, he saw the time and rushed out to catch up with Nandu to get the early morning newspaper, so that he could get a view of his beloved wife while her wet hair draped her shoulders and tiny droplets fell on the ground. He imagined her and a coy smile appeared on his face and rushed out. He was waiting outside when Nandu came approximately 3 minutes late by his usual time. Nandu spoke " Arey! Bhaiya aap Bahaut dino baad dekhe " he said " bakwaas band Kar, samne bell baja"
Scared by his abrasive tone, Nandu did as instructed.
He carefully heard the latch being unlocked and his heart started beating profusely, a certain level of excitement flashed his face, he gave a wry smile and looked lovingly at the door with his patent mischievous grin and the door opened and he saw..
Appa
He kept his hand on his head and shook in disbelief and anger.
