Hey guys, i hope im back soon. I was so disappointed after yesterday's episode that I wanted to feel better and hence wrote this with a unstable heart 😭 nothing about yesterday's episode felt like the magical IshRa, it just looked so forced (totally my opinion, I hope I didn't offend anyone) 😃😃😃

Breath of Fresh Air

Chapter 14

[Aisa laga mujhe pehli dafa, tanha mai ho gayi yaara

Mrs Iyer looked disappointed. She had thought that her Ishu had finally found someone to spend her life with but Murgan doesn't seem to like that idea. She excused herself out of the room saying that she had to go somewhere with Mrs Bhalla.

"Kaafi acchi choice hai tumhari" Raman said mocking her after Mrs Iyer left

"Ha Ishi aunty kitni pretty sarees hai" Ruhi piped in "toh aaj konsa pehnengi app?"

Ishita was boiling with rage, but thanks to Ruhi, she couldn't even blast that man. Such a clever fox, he had his shield with him and had the audacity to mock her " I... I don't know Ruhi" she smiled hesitantly "mai aaj kuch aur pehn leti hu, kal decide karte hai"

"Nehi aaj hi, mai decide karti hu" Ruhi said determined to find the best for her Aunty. Ishita helplessly looked at Ruhi.

He stood silently watching her with a smile playing on his lips. He couldn't believe he did this for her, online shopping for an entire night. He felt like a teenager, he was loving this feeling of being in love.

"Mil gayi" Ruhi jumped with joy when she pulled out the saree to show it to them. White.

Their eyes met *"white pehna tha tumne..."*

She remembers, he thought, he could see that in her eyes. Smiling for the n^th time he took his car keys to go to office in the pleasant rainy morning .,...

Luck was one thing that was favouring Raman Kumar Bhalla a lot these days, that's what he realised 10 minutes later when he found the object of his dreams sitting beside him in a white saree, this time for real.

Ishita's Chunni lal' had ditched her in the 11^th hour and hence she and Ruhi were stranded on the road and that's how Raman found them. They dropped Ruhi to her school and were now on their way to Ishita's clinic ALONE. Raman smirked at that.

"Why are you laughing?" she asked irritated

"Me? Really? Oh I didn't realise. Its just that with you around I laugh a lot more these days" he said smiling genuinely at her

That pissed her off "Why? Do I look like a jocker to you?... And could you drive fast please. Iss speed se toh hum teen din baad pahuchenge. Woh dekho woh aadmi paidal humse aage chala gaya"

Yes he was using the age old technique of, drive slow if you want to spend more time with her "Sure" he said and drove past the man only to fully halt by the deserted highway.

"why did you stop here?" she asked

"You remember everything don't you?" he turned to look at her

"I don't know what you are talking about" she brushed him off

"Ofcourse you do... for once just tell me that you do..." he pleaded

"What if I do remember? Will it change anything?" she retorted sarcastically "Now can you please start the car"

He jerked towards her and caged her with his hand on either side of her seat. She cringed and sunk back "What are you doing?" she asked frightened

His face was inches away from her's as he whispered into her ear "Nothing that I haven't done before, isn't it? You of all the people shouldn't be afraid to be alone with me"

"That was a mistake and I don't wish to repeat it" she whispered back

"that wasn't a mistake and I definitely don't remember regretting it"

"what do you want?"

"you" he replied, there, he couldn't believe he said that,plain and simple.

She looked at him, shocked "You don't mean that" she finally said

"Yes I do. What do you think I have been telling you all these while? I want you in my life, not as Ruhi's Ishita Aunty but simply as Ishita. Like a man wants a woman and I repeat I don't regret the night" he said looking into her eyes

Words failed her as she registered the information, her heart did a flip-flop but she was quick to recover. She knew it was all wrong, it was just their long deprived hormones "I am sorry, but you have got it all wrong. I'm not that kind of a woman who would want friendship with benefits. I'm sorry that it seemed that way to you but it was a mistake for me. I can't do that especially when I still love that man who left me for a better option" She tried to open the door, it was raining heavily by then

His anger was slowly shaping up but he tried his best to control "You are lying" he said as he pulled her back "You are only trying to shield yourself behind his long faded so-called-love. You know when I look into these eyes, I find him nowhere. You are a coward who doesn't have the courage to move on and give life a second chance. And when did you hear me say friends-with-benefits? I can want nothing less than a full fledged relationship from you. And you know what I know what you feel more than you know yourself. Stop lying."

"I'm not lying" she retorted, tears making way out of her eyes "I-don't-want you" with that she pushed him and got out of the car

When she got out of the car, she realised that it was raining heavily; she walked away and looked around her, hoping to find a taxi that could take her away from him. She didn't like how she felt when he held her, it was so wrong and yet felt so right to her. She wiped away the tears that melted into the rain. She felt so weak, emotionally and physically.

It was only when she felt a hand creep up and engulfed her waist, she realised he was standing just behind her all this while, so close, violating her personal space. Yet she didn't even felt that discomfort she felt when someone invaded her personal space. She turned around and looked at him, her lips quievered in the rain as she opened then to say something. Words never came out, instead his lips came down to seal her's into the most perfect kiss of her life. Not that she had a long list of kisses to compare with. He was soft and the touches felt feathery light, she didn't know when she started kissing him back. She was jerked back to her surroundings when he broke the kiss for want of oxygen. She looked at him with disbelief

"You still think you don't want me?" he asked smiling with a hint of humour in his eyes "By the way you look more beautiful in this rain than you looked in my dream shower in this white saree" he paused for a while and then added "I'll drop you home"

She opened the door to her house to find her mother whispering something to Mrs Bhalla. They stopped when they saw her "Ishu, tum wapas aa gayi? Kyu?"

"Amma woh mai bheeg gayi thi, gadi kharab ho gayi hai" she said slowly "mai change karke aati hu" she promply made her way to her room and locked it.

She changed into dry clothes and sat by her window. Why does she fall so weak everytime she's around him? She wondered, It was her weakness that lead to their first night together, then the other day at the hospital and then today. Her vulnerability was something she never showed to anyone, not even her mother. She didn't want anyone to pity her, but with him the walls simply crumbles everytime.

He was a bad company she decided, he knew how to make her feel vulnerable and adjust it according to his needs. But then why did it feel like he loved you? her heart asked. No, he never mentioned love, he said he wanted her. Typical man, he thought he could have her because she didn't object, her mind told her.

But his eyes seemed so genuine and whats the harm in giving life a second chance, what if he really likes you, her heart argued.

No, he doesn't love me. He said he doesn't believe in either love or marriages on the first day of his mission to woo Ruhi. This can only be lust and this has to end here, her mind said with finality

"Amma kab se dekh rahi hu aap dono kya whisper kar rahe ho?" Ishita asked with genuine curiosity as she prepared her ginger tea to clear her head.

"Shhh...Ishu, dheere bol Raman sun lega"

"Woh gharpe nehi hai amma"

"Accha phir theek hai, sunn, Santoshi aur maine na Raman ke liye ek acchi si ladki dekhi hai" the two women laughed a conspiratory laugh, as if planning something big

"ladki? Kyu?" she asked confused

"offho Ishita puttar, tu te itni bholi hai na. Shadi ke liye aur kya" Mrs Bhalla said

The cup of tea that she was about to take a sip from, hung mid air, as she whispered after moments "Par Raman toh shadi nehi karna chahte na auntiji" her mind almost blank

"Pata hai mujhe beta, zindagi aur pyar se bharosa hi uth gaya hai mere puttar ka. Par mai kya karu maa hu na, toh bacche ki fikr toh hogi hi. Mujhe pura yakeen hai ki woh shadi ke baad theek ho jayega. Tu bas use manane mein hamari madad kar de"

"Mai? Mai kaise madad kar du" she asked not knowing how to react

"tu nehi karegi toh aur kaun karega, ab dekh saari baatein toh manta hai woh teri. Humein pata hai ki kitne acche dost ban gaye ho tum dono. Bas tu hi mana sakti hai use... Itni madad kar de beta" Mrs Bhalla pleaded.

Precap : "Mujhe aapse baat karne ka shaukh nehi hai, bas aapki mummy ko lagta hai ki mai bolungi toh aap maan jaoge shaadi ke liye" she rolled her eyes

"Theek hai" he said

"kya???" she turned around in disbelief

"kya? Kya? Maine kaha mai uss ladki se shadi karne ke liye tayaar hu, bol dena ma ko"
