It was a wonderful day. Sitting down near the lake made Raman feel so peaceful that he just can't budge from his perch on the tree. Yes, he was sitting on a tree. He had lost the game of treasure hunt and as a forfeit he had to perch on the tree. Damdama Lake had a calming effect on his turmoil laden mind. The lake is the biggest natural lake in Shoha Dirstric near Gurgaon. Boating is the main activity at the lake. The whole area is full of picnic goers. He too is there to spend some quality time with his 2 children and their mother. The calm and peace was shattered by the laughter of children. The shriek of a young girl bhaiya mujje chodu' could be heard clearly. His son, Adi was chasing his younger sister, Ruhi. It gave Raman immerse pleasure watching his children. Where was the mother? She was with them a few minutes ago? He got down from his perch wanting to look for her when he saw a lady walking towards the children.

He nearly dropped down the tree. Is that her? What had she done to herself? Why did she change her clothing? He needs to check if there was any law on dress code at this area. Good Lord, he thought to himself while he walked towards the children. Gosh, the 3 quarter tights and sleeveless t-shirt was too much. It was body hugging, showing off all her features. He was ogling at his wife. The Madrasan looked so sexy. (Yes, it's Ishita and not Shagun). He couldn't stop checking her out. Ishita snapped her fingers near his face, that brought him out of his musing.

R: Kya ye? Kyun kapadoko change karti?

I: Kyu? Accha nehi? Yeh Adi and Ruhi se gift meri liye.

A: Ah papa! We heard you telling Ishima not to dress like a bhenji during the picnic. So, we thought it would be good if we bought her something trendy. We went shopping with Mihika chitti. She advised us to buy this attire. It's the new thing in town for sportswear.

Ru: Papa! Ishima looks great, right? So, trendy.

Raman was caught tongue tied. He couldn't taunt Ishita with the children around.

I: Chalo bacho. Let's go for the rope activity. We could try out the Burma bridge, monkey crawl and commando net. It will be fun. Full of energy. It will burn off the calories from today's lunch.

R: What! Rope activity. No, no. We'll go to Turtle Farm at Manesar. Ruhi will enjoy it. You didn't want to try the rope activity yesterday. Why today?

I: Yesterday, I didn't have proper attire. So, I declined. Today, with these new clothing I should be fine. Let's go.

She started walking towards the car and the children were skipping following her. Raman was perplexed. There was no way he was allowing all sundry to see Ishita in that form fitting clothing. Everyone will ogle at his wife. No way. He ran after them, skidded on a stone and fall down. Ouch!

Raman opened his eyes. He was in his bedroom. He had fallen down from his bed. His back hurt. Everything was a dream. Ouch! At least the Madrasan was not around to see him falling down. He decided to freshen up before meeting his family. He came out from his room after his bath to see his family at various stages of finishing off their breakfast and having a lively conversation. Ishita and Ruhi were debating the pros and cons of vegetables in daily diet.

I: Ru baby, you need to eat vegetables. Never mind, at least eat a carrot every morning. It's very crunchy and full of vitamins.

Ru: No Ishima. I don't like the taste of carrots or its crunchiness. Anyways, papa doesn't eat carrots too. So, why must I?

I: Papa doesn't eat carrots that's why he needs to wear spectacles. He looks like an old Ravan Kumar with his spectacles.

Ru: Really Ishima! Papa looks old with his spectacles. Mmm... let me think.

R: Hello! Who looks old? I'm still hot property. Girls still check me out. He smirks at Ishita.

Ru: Arre papa. With the spectacles on, you look like papa bear of Goldilocks. All grouchy.

R: I eat carrots beta. Don't believe everything Ishima says. Carrots are good for you. See I'll eat now.

Raman was really in a quandary. He hated carrots. He is not a bunny but he had to make sure Ruhi followed his example if not the Madrasan would lecture him. He didn't want to hear her lectures on Sunday morning. So, feeling extremely frustrated, he sat at the dining table and started chewing a carrot. By then, Ishita had to attend a phone call and Ruhi had run into her room.

Romi : Bhai! What are you eating?

R: Chup. I'm setting a good example for Ruhi with these carrots (his akkadoo voice)

Romi : But bhai, that's not carrot...

Before Romi could complete his sentence, Raman started shouting. Arre! What's this? Why are carrots mirchi. Ishita! Are you trying to kill me? Ishita turned around and nearly doubled over with laughter. Raman had eaten the Beijing chili that she had bought from the Chinese section of the supermarket yesterday evening. Ishita wanted to try out the spicy chili. It's red in color and quite long. She couldn't understand how Raman could mistake red chili with carrot. In actual sense, Raman was not paying attention. His mind was on his dream of seeing Ishita in that body hugging 3 quarter tights and sleeveless t-shirt. He was fantasying about Ishita's sexy look, hence, his mistake.

R: Ouch! My mouth and lips are burning. Ishita do something.

Ishita quickly dragged Raman to the wash basin and asked him to rinse his mouth to take away the spicy tinge from his tongue.

In this commotion, Ms. Shagun walks in. She had been trying to contact Raman for the past hour but he did not attend his phone at all. She decided to pay him a visit at the Bhalla residence. Her intention was to show Ishita that she could snap her fingers and Raman would dance to her tune. However, she was shocked at the scene enacted at the Bhalla residence. Raman had his arms wrapped around Ishita's back, he was engulfed in her saree pallu. The whole family was watching their antics with a smile on their faces. The way both Raman and Ishita were behaving, it was shameless but no one reprimanded them. Ishita pulled Raman into their room. Only then, did the family notice Shagun's presence.

Thosiji: Oi Shagun! Subah subah kyun aye? Kya kam is ghar pe?

S: Mere shok nehi is ghar se aye. Lekin, me Raman se, bhat hona hai.

T: Kyun? Didn't you just see my bahu and puttar. They are busy. It's a Sunday and they are newly wed. Go back and call Raman tomorrow. He is busy today with his wife and family.

Shagun was really jealous. Her face was all red and she wanted to lash out at Ishita. She just could not understand why the bhenji had so much respect among these people.

S: I won't go until I meet Raman. He is Adi's father. I need to speak to him about Adi.

T: Adi puttar? What's wrong with him? Romi, challo tumara bhai se bhol, Shagun aye.

Romi goes to Raman's room and knocks on the door. Moans could be heard from inside the room.

Romi: Bhai, ap se milna Shagun (he lowered his voice when he mentioned Shagun's name) aya

R : I can't meet anyone. Not even the CM of Delhi. I need to spend time with Ishita.

T: Shagun, tum sunna. Raman doesn't want to meet you. Better leave now before I send you packing.

At that time, Ishita walks out from the room, all shy and blushing. Her shoulders are all red due to Raman's unshaven bristles. She quickly took a glass of warm water to reduce the spicy tinge from Raman's tongue. Before she could go back to the room, everyone could hear Raman's shout.

R: Ishita! Where are you? Come fast. I need you.

Shagun was raving mad watching the whole scenario. She just couldn't cope with the lovely dopy atmosphere at Bhalla residence. She stormed out of the house.

ROFLing continuously and my students are looking at me thinking whats wrong with akka ...Bwaahaha

I'm sitting at the airport lounge thinking whether I'll be able to catch today's YHM episode or not. As it is I had to do a marathon watching to catch up last week's episodes. Based on the spoiler it's going to be high drama. So, here is a short respite...

Please note, I have not proof read the posting, so, please excuse my grammer...

Ever since the picnic with Shagun and the children, Ishita has been behaving quite oddly with Raman. She still behaves the same around the rest of the family but with Raman, there seems to be something different. She has a faraway look in her eyes whenever she sees him and she rarely looks him in his eyes. On top of it, her dressing has changed. She also spends time out of the house quite a lot, sometimes with Ruhi and Raman was not aware of the rest of the times she goes out. He wants to lash out and ask her about her whereabouts but he does not have the guts to do it. Now about her dressing, well it's no longer just saree. He used to ask her to dress in western clothing; now, she is in her pants, jeans, kurti, t-shirt most of the time unless she is at home with his parents. He finds it quite tantalizing but he is afraid to ask her. He heard Ruhi relating a story about their supermarket trip to his parents, just yesterday evening. Ruhi and Ishita had gone to the supermarket to get some fresh vegetables and Ruhi stopped at the biscuit counter to try out new varieties which was being given as sample. Ishita had wondered off with her shopping. Ruhi being her Ishima's daughter, stood put at the counter knowing that Ishima would come over and fetch her. At that time, a stylishly dressed young man aka Siddhartha Malhotra look alike (what is with Ruhi and Ishita nowadays, its Sid this, Sid that, it was driving Raman to the wall) walked to Ruhi and told her that her sister was looking for her at the next lane. He'll accompany Ruhi to her sister (??) if she would allow him. Ruhi told him that she'll wait at the counter he should call the lady over to her. So, the guy walked away and a few minutes later, walked back with Ishita in tow.

I: Ru baby! God! I thought I had lost you.

Ru: Ishima, I waited at the counter. You have always told me to wait at the last known place if I miss you or papa and not to talk to strangers. That's what I did.

I: Oh! Clever Ru baby. You are Ishima's star!

The guy just gapped at both Ruhi and Ishita. He asked Ruhi, that's your mom? I thought it was your sister. He walked away, shaking his head. Ruhi was really excited about Ishita being called as her sister. What made Raman pissed off was that, the guy must have been eyeing both Ruhi and Ishita for some time, if he could immediately identify Ruhi when she was standing alone. It's not that he was jealous he was just being protective, after Ruhi is a young lovely looking girl. Really Raman!

Today again, he heard Ishita and Ruhi making plans to go book hunting at the Big Ben sale in the mall. Romi was escorting them. The duffer Romi. What he knows about books? Raman decided to play jazooz. He'll tag along with them and see what was going on. He told Ishita that he would drive them to the mall and there was no need for Romi to follow them. Romi insisted on following and at the end all 4 agreed to go to the mall.

Raman went to freshen-up and asked Ishita to put take out his casual wear. He comes out from the bathroom and sees only his t-shirt. No pants. Grumbling to himself he selects a pair of pants, decides against it and goes for a jeans, he had had heard Ishita praising Sid's dressing sense. The guy had worn a hoody and a pair of jeans. What's so stylish about it? Raman being RKB decided he'll wear his jeans as well and dons the t-shirt on the bed. He walked out from the room checking his phone, not paying attention to the surrounding.

R: Ma, Ruhi, Ishita kidder he?

T: Thino, gadi ke paas jana. Tum kittna late thayar karte?

R: Kya he is Madrasan? Mera kapade nehi nikalo, lekin, jaldi thayar karte, jaho. Can't she wait for me?

T: Hare puttarji? You are going to go out like this?

R: Why not? I can wear casuals. I look good in jeans and t-shirt. Anyway, I'm late. See you soon.

Toshiji just shakes her head and wanders what's happening with her children nowadays. Raman walks to the car, Romi, Ishita and Ruhi were already seated at the back and the driver was waiting for him.

R: Dilip, you go home. I'll drive today. Ishita, aren't you coming in front. You are not the malkin and I'm not your driver.

I: Kuch be, Ravan Kumar.

Ru: Papa! You will make a handsome driver...Ruhi smiles cheekily.

They arrive at the mall; Raman drops them at the main entrance and tells them to wait for him at the Big Ben book sales entrance. All 3 were joking with each other when Raman entered the area. While walking towards them, he saw a few guys shaking hands with Romi.

Friend: Hi Romi! Long time. How are you?

Ro: Hello guys. It has been long time.

Ru: Chachu, ye sublok apka friend?

Ro: Ha baby. Guys, this Ruhi, she is my niece. Raman bhai's daughter

Friend: Hello! Nice to meet you. Romi, aren't you going to introduce us to the lovely lady. Your new friend? (they smirk at each other)

Ro: Of course, this is Ishita...

R: Bhabi. Ishita Bhabi. Ruhi's mother (Raman had walked in by then and was boiling at the way Romi's friends were checking Ishita out)

Ro: Aha! Mere bhabi.

Friend: Sorry bhaiya, bhabi. We thought it was Romi's new girlfriend. We'll leave now. They left but were smiling widely when they looked at Raman. In fact, quite many people were smiling at Raman, some of the young lady shoppers were practically giggling.

Ishita, Romi and Ruhi were flabbergasted on why the young ladies were giggling. They asked Raman what was it about. Raman told them that they were standing next to a hot property, of course, people noticed him. By this time, Ishita had a through look of Raman and started smiling as well. She nudged Romi and Ruhi to check out Raman. Then, all there were practically doubling over with laughter. Raman became quite furious, while gritting his teeth but smiling at the same time he asked Ishita what was the matter. Ishita pulled Raman to a corner near the washroom and showed him the words written on his t-shirt.

I'M A LADY. I ROCK!

Raman's face turned beetroot color. Even his ears had a blush. He blasted Ishita for putting such t-shirt out for him. Ishita told him that she didn't take any clothing out for Raman. It was her t-shirt which Ruhi and Romi had purchased for her. It was on the bed as she didn't feel like wearing it.

By the time they returned to meet Romi and Ruhi, Raman's anger was hitting the boiling stages. He just wanted to leave the arena. By then, Romi had purchased another t-shirt for Raman and told him to change. RKB insisted that he could carry of the words as he was not a wimp. He is manly, what are words... Thru out the rest of the day, everyone did a double take when they saw Raman and his t-shirt. Ishita had a huge smile on her face.

As far as Raman was concerned, it was a small price to pay, to see Ishita smiling after so many days. The twinkles in her eyes were worth all the giggling he had to endure. However, he decided that he'll check out all of Ishita's new clothing, just to make sure he didn't have to endure another round of blushes...
