Raman's day was a busy one. He had been juggling around files, trying to finish his work ASAP so he could prepare everything for their evening together, as well as calm his nerves. Yes, that's right! He, THE Raman Kumar Bhalla, or as his wife called him, Raavan Kumar, was nervous indeed. Today he was finally going to confess, he was going to tell her she meant more to him than just Ruhi's ishimaa. He didn't know if it was the right time to confess his love or not though. He had decided he would take that chance
depending on her response. He had been waiting all day for her to text or call him, affirming that she'd seen the note and gifts and that she would be there, but had got none. He couldn't say he wasn't disappointed. He had hoped she would say something which would give him an idea as to how she felt about him.
What if..what if she hadn't seen it at all? What if she didn't want to go out with him and had decided to ignore him? What if she thought he was being completely ridiculous?
No no no no no Raman! This is not
the time to dwell over 'what if's. You need to finish work and get ready or you'll never be there on time and that won't be a good impression on the first date. Moreover, this is no time to be nervous. He glanced at the clock. It was already 5.30 pm. He had to pick her up at 7. He quickly got ready and decided to drive his black matte Porsche (his special ocassion car) today.
Thanks to the traffic in Delhi, he barely made it in time even though he'd left earlier than usual.
Yeh Dilli ke traffic ne toh aaj
mujhe late karane ki thaan hi li thi.. Accha hua time pe pohonch gaya warna pata nahi yeh madrasan mujhe kitna bada lecture sunati "time management" pe. Chal upar bhaag Raman isse pehle yeh jhaansi ki raani tujhe first date pe hi kaccha chaba jaye.
He rang the bell a few times. Subconsciously impatient. She finally answered after about 3 minutes.
She opened the door and for the 4th time since their marriage, he was left speechless. As if the way she looked in the green dress, blue
dress and the saree on Mihir's sangeet were not torturous enough, she looked even more beautiful today. And he didn't have a folder or phone to bite today, his jaw dropped embarrassingly low.
His gaze travelled lower. The silver backless blouse fit her perfectly. And he had bought a low cut one on purpose.
What? A man has his desires. And she is my WIFE. It's not a crime to want your own wife. Moreover if I can't have her, atleast I can watch her. And today she looks... (He searched for the perfect word)
irresistible. I always knew she was beautiful, (I'm not blind) but this..today..she looks so..so perfect!
I: Raman.? Raman??
R: huh..hann
I: kahan kho gaye? Andar aaiye naa..
She smirks at him knowingly. He blushes and moves inside, immediately embarrassed.
As if the jaw drop was not enough, now blush. This woman is making me lose my mind.
R: ishita..uhh..tum ready ho toh chalein?
I: haan bas..ek second..
She grabs her clutch from their bedroom and they leave
Be a gentleman..be a gentleman.. You have to impress her!
Nahi yaarrr...awkward hoga toh? Maine kabhi yeh nahi kiya hai..yeh jhaansi ki raani pakka embarrass karegi..ughh
She searches for his car, but doesn't find it and sees him walking towards the black Porsche. Her eyes widen when he opens the door for her. She looks at him..surprised!
R: uhh..this is my special ocassion
car.
I: I'm not surprised at the car. I'm surprised that you opened my door.
Anndd..just the thing I didn't want her to say..
R: Chivalry is not dead yet darling!
He smiles sexily at her. She immediately blushes.
Did he just call me darling? DARLING? Yeh Raavan Kumar ko kya ho gaya hai? Kuch gadbad toh nahi hai.. Ayyoo murugan..yeh ho kya rha hai?
She gets into the car nervously fidgeting with the pallu of her saree.
I: ramann..aapne bataya nhi..where are we going? ?
R: tumne pucha hi nhi na jaan? We're going to spend some time together obviously.
Jaan? Aaj pakka kuch toh gadbad hai..kya ho sakta hai???
soch ishu soch..
I: woh pata hai mujhe..but..kahan??
R: you'll know. Thoda patience
rakho ishu!
I: oookayy..uh..waise..mujhe aapko thanks kehna tha..gifts ke liye..I liked them.
Raman simply smiles at her. Suddenly the car stops and Ishita is brought out of her daydream. Before she can get down, he's opening the door for her with an outstretched hand, for her to hold.
She accepts it and moves out.
The sun is setting, casting an orange glow at the sky. They're in a small meadow which ends at a cliff. It's all so beautiful that she's surprised she hasn't heard about it
before.
R: This is the place I come to when I'm upset or very happy about something. It's where I find peace.
I: it's beautiful raman..it's just sooo..beautiful!
R: I know. (he touches her hand and she slips her fingers through his) I've never brought anyone here before. I discovered this place when I was in college. Ghoomte ghoomte aa gaya tha yahan..
I: shagun ko bhi nahi?
R: nahi..
He somehow feels her hold tightening on his hand. It makes
him smile.
R: ishita..dekho naa iss sooraj ko..dhal rha hai..phir bhi..kitna khoobsoorat hai..
She smiles and he leads her to a bench. They sit. Hand in hand
R: hum dono ki zindagi bhi iss suraj jaisi hai..ek waqt tha..jab dhal rhi thi..raat ho chuki thi..lekin phir..ek naya din aaya..ek nayi shuruaat hui..
She looks at him. Confused as to where he's getting with this but somehow understanding what he's saying without even trying to.
R: Main jaanta hoon..iss rishte shuruaat samjhaute se hui thi...sirf ruhi ke liye..par ishita..meri dhalti hui zindagi me tum roshni bankar aayi..
I don't know main tumhe kaise samjhau..yeh sab..mujhe nhi aata..
I just..I want to tell you..uhh...no..ask you..if..
Ugghh!
This is thousand times more difficult than I thought it would be!
Come on Raman..say it please..! Aaj finally aap yeh keh rahe hai..please complete kijiye..I've
been waiting for this..come on Raman..
R: ishita...ishu..I..( he closes his eyes and exhales. )
Ishu..can we give this marriage a chance? I know I am your husband and we're married legally and all..but..can you let me be your husband?
Over time I've realised ishita..ki yeh rishta ab mere liye sirf ruhi ke liye nahi rhaa..main..I want us be together..you know what I mean?
Dekho mujhe galat mat samajhna..main..I'm not trying to
overstep my boundaries...main bas..
She crashes into his chest and stops his rambling. She hugs him tight.
I: Raman..ek line ko itna lamba chauda banane ki kya zaroorat hai?
Aur aap kehte ho ki main lecture deti hoon..khud toh itna sab kuch keh diya nonstop..ek I love you nahi keh sake mujhe? Kitna bolte ho raavan kumar..thak nhi jaate?
Raman pulls out of the hug and looks at her..shocked and
speechless. He doesn't know what to say..and then she says it.
I: I love you too Raman! (she smiles at him with unshed tears in her eyes)
Raman is dazed..at the beauty and the courage this woman exudes. She did it. She said it, when he could not. But he has to, now.
R: I love you meri jhaansi ki raani..tum sach mein meri super woman ho ishu!
He hugs her to himself again. This time holding her equally as tight as
she's holding him. Feeling her body against his, knowing she wants him too! It fills his heart so much he wants to scream it to the world. The fact that she loves him. His wife. His super woman loves him! And she is his..finally!
