Res- Aani is this suitable reading on my commute? 😳
Edited-
Ok i'm not too sure where to start so I'm going to apologise because I might just sound like I'm rambling and literally darting around- it's only because I am completely floored by your final part.
Aww thats so sweet of you to say Uz 😊
You lended Ishita such depth that is yet to be shown on screen. I agree with you when you say that there is 'less' to go in respect of her actual feelings re: the heartbreak she has suffered in the past.
I have to say Divz deserves the whole credit for this - her performance in that single episode where Ishita -Subu story was in focus, she displayed a gamut of emotions and underplayed them. She wasn't being a raging hellcat but rather a very subdued heartbroken girl with conviction, who has an underlying anger simmering underneath her pain. It was a very understated performance and that made me write what I did 😳
Raman's eagerness to let her know that he is her 'friend' and can be her sounding board was so endearing and its the Raman i know we will see more of onscreen (fingers crossed). The inner turmoil that she is faces when he questions her about Subbu, yes she has opened herself up to Raman, she is vulnerable more than perhaps she realises herself. However, to date she still had a lid on things when it came to Subbu and her own heart break. She doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve like Raman.
Yep Raman once he gets to know of things cant help himself, esp if he thinks he can help someone and with Ishita he is finding it hard to back off these days, The problems of her family are his as well now, this man who had said he would have nothing to do with her - that she would be only Ruhi' mom has invested himself in this marriage wholeheartedly and so its natural he wont be able to even tolerate the idea she is in pain. But at the same time I see him as a novice when it comes to the matters of the heart. He himself admitted so during the engagement day scenes with Mihir - that he failed over there, so I had him fumbling and nervous here 😳 and she def is the deeper one of the two - still waters run deep as they say 😳
I somewhat imagine her love to have been a more 'practical' kind- i don't know if that makes sense. I guess what I'm saying is that she is a logical person whereas Raman to date tends to rely on emotion more.
You know this may be true, I cant rem but I read this in some post that she finds Bala such an ideal, that she projected the same qualities on his bro and perhaps found the guy worthy and hence fell for him, so that is true - her love might have been practical in that regard. Raman of course is very volatile - so yes he is the more emotional one of the two, even if he may find solutions to all the problems, there are times when he fails to process things calmly like she does, like when he recently almost beat up Romi
Again this is just my views on her based on what we have been shown so far- Ultimately when there is acknowledgment and reflection of their feelings for one another i know they will mirror each other completely. (i've just realised that I must sound like I'm obsessed with mirrors and reflections😆)
😆 😆 no problem with the obsession you have a SS- Mirror Mirror too after all which is beautiful by the way... jokes apart I agree with the bold bit
i'm also glad that you didn't show Raman wanting to 'fix' Ishita. All of which goes hand in hand with the character that has been portrayed onscreen. He wants to understand her, be there for her and fundamentally he wants to stand by her side always.
You know Uz there is no fixing people, you can heal them or help them but not fix them - its my belief 😳 also, Raman trying to fix her would mean he is demeaning her as if she is some faulty equipment and not a person, a human being - him extending his help, wanting to heal her would be a sign of respect and understanding - that says yes I know this pain let me share it with you.
Aani thank you for such an incredible journey- Beneath the Surface was truly a joy to read and your words have resonated deeply🤗
Thank you Uz for being a part of the journey and all your comments 🤗 Readers like you always encourage and inspire me to write more and better myself as much as poss each time 😊
