Aani my heart ached reading this! it was so beautifully written. I am so so glad that you explored 'beneath the surface' of Ishita. Honestly this is what i'm waiting for to be shown onscreen too. I hope when they do they do so in the way you have done here.

So many of your words hit such a resonance with me-

She had seemed a stranger to him for the first time since their marriage and the discomfort of the moment would not let him be at peace.

He had believed to date that he 'knew' her, as well as anyone possibly could considering all that they have gone through together. but he can't seem to shake off the look she had on her face when she sees Subbu.

to learn and to live are two different things.

Last night for the first time, he lived what he had known about.

The above lines are just incredible. The realisation that knowing, accepting or acknowledging something is completely different to actually living it. Amazing Aani!

He cannot explain how he knows this only that he does, he recognizes the woman hiding behind her mask now, perhaps because he finds his own reflection looking back at him in the shards of her mask.

Her mask hides behind it a lonely, crippled woman with a broken heart just as his hides the lonely heartbroken man.

The use of masks and the 'unmasking' of who we are as individuals is just awesome. His realisation that she too hides behind a mask but for self-less reasons is heartbreaking but also in my eyes completing enlightening for him. Now that he is aware of this I am intrigued as to how you will conclude things in your next part.

I can't wait to read the next part and sincerely hope and pray that we get to watch something like this enacted on our screens.

Aani- I don't know how you do it but the way you write and describe things you actually make the reader feel like they are personally witnessing it in front of their eyes and they can actually relate to it.

beautiful update. it seriously touched my heart :) this is what i want to see on the show. they could take the show to a different level by portraying these emotions.

I love this line-

They have married for the sake of his daughter but he cannot just neglect their relationship.

She is his wife and he is her husband.

Girl amazing... this part... was the best one.. of all the parts you have written... 👏.. i know with every chap.. i say almost the same thing... but what to do... your next chap... is always better than the previous one.. so i cant help but say the same thing again and again... that you are a gifted writer and i am officially your FAN...😃

Now what i loved about this part was how only one encounter with subbu brings the change in ishita... and his one encounter... how it brings the feelings of uneasiness... knowing each other's past... yet still not able to stop himself from feeling uncomfortable... with an encounter with past in present... and how he notices the little changes that come in the demenear of his wife... the ever shouting JKR has become so very quite... in a matter of few seconds

how in the start of chpter you have shown raman that he thought he knows his wife only to come to the realizaton that he only knows a facade that she displays...

omg and this line

steals the entire part... your whole chapter on one side and this on other.. it just took my heart away... how though raman and ishita are different individuals.. but they are nothing but mirror images of one another...

Firstly, as usual, im really really sory for not keeping up in time... actually ive been rather busy... have had so much to do and its official. HOLIDAYS are WAYY busier than working weeks/exams! SERIOUSLY! Anyways, ab toh aagayi hoon na? 😳 better late than never 😉

I'm in love with Beneath The Surface 😃 i loved the intro and got really excited that you'll be focusing on Ishita? Her pain, her scars, her mushkilen and her betrayed trust... up till now however you wrote Raman... his pain, anguish, betrayal of the heart, betrayed trust, his problems... and how he was learning that EVERY woman is not Shagun... how with every passing happenings and moments he could see the innate difference, comparison between Shagun and Ishita... what Shagun was, certainly Ishita wasn't... and he was thus getting to know her... realizing her.

Thank you 😳 BTS is a look at Ishita through Raman' POV after all, he has to realize she too is in as much pain as he is she just hides it so well it not spotted as easy as it should be or could be, but for him to realize that of course he has to give up the myopic view he adopted regarding women post Shagun... the only way for him to wake up to this fact that all women arent the same and women too, are cheated on and its not always the man who ends up heartbroken, he had to learn to differentiate between them - namely Ishita and Shagun 😳 which of course can only happen if he compares the two

It was all more like whatever we've seen in Ye Hai Mohabbatein... each pain everything that Ramans gone through and couldnt be portrayed... you put it forward, through your words... youve described it all too well :)

How he was losing his resolve with Ishita in the picture, her being as charming and intriguing in nature as ever and how Raman was coming to explore her, beautiful. And then, the ugly facts coming out... about his family after her arrival... him pondering over it... his GUILT... him being grateful to her and not knowing what exactly to do about it, Everything up till now in your SS is going exactly where YHM is... how it is... and thus, so very relatable 😳

I needed this built up for the theme of my SS - how people wear masks in this world - but how not ALL masks are worn by selfish people or for selfish purposes 😳

The punishment for Romi was perfect. This would make him really responsible and a better person hopefully. I would really like to see the devar-bhabi bonding. Him trusting his bhabi more than anything, telling her everything... seeking help from her... Ishita should also understand him... i love the real ishita and romi and their bond and this is exactly what i wish for them in the show too 😳

I think in the show too they may have Ishita reforming Romi and their bond growing stronger, though I am clueless regarding the punishment 😳 Romi as per me needs to have some maturity which can happen once he is ALLOWED to grow up and learn from his mistakes and not beat him black and blue and make him submit to things

im only done till chapter 3, yet to read the 4th one, will comment on it tonite.
