Okay, after watching the SBS segment, I gather that Raman and Shagun do a fast paced dance, which fizzles out with him dropping her. Just as Ishita is about to leave, she hears what Raman has to say, and well she is still quite hurt. I think the entire dance symbolizes their journey so far, and I feel its beautiful. I know we haven't seen the full dance, but this is just from what I gather.
Raman dances with Shagun
This symbolizes their previous relationship and Raman's feelings for her
Their dance is fast and high tempo and ends abruptly with her falling
This symbolizes the nature of their relationship, high level of passion and intensity that was quick to burn out, and Shagun falls in the eyes of Raman.
Ashok comes and picks up Shagun from the ground
Shows the transition between Raman and Ashok, and how Ashok is now dealing with a wounded Shagun which is evident through her elaborate plans of making Raman 'jealous'
The Adhoora Speech after Shagun is picked up by Ashok (I loved it),
Ishita has in every way taken up all the responsibilities Shagun did not have the strength to complete. She has fulfulled all the relationships that Shagun had left empty. She became a mother to Ruhi, filled her life with love and joy. She was a good daughter-in-law and sister, by always taking care of her in-laws. And over everything, she has filled the void that Shagun left in Raman's life, slowly but surely. Raman may not realize it, but he has begun to enjoy life more, he has softened, and Ishita occupies a lot of his time. Past-Raman was a heartbroken drunk who would show up at Shagun's house every other day. Now all his time is consumed in finding one-liners for his Karelađ and coming up with elaborate schemes to just upset her in general. Ishita has begun to fill the space that Shagun left.
Raman asks Ishita to dance with him, and she reluctantly agrees
When Raman extended his hand, Ishita was unsure of whether to take it, and did after a lot of mental delibiration. This also shows how in the beginning when they were to get married, but were unsure, and Ishita especially given Raman's supposed character. But she took a chance anyway.
The Dance
I hope as the dance progresses, Ishita begins to soften, and the hurt is less evident, but it does show the angst she and Raman both faced when they got married, and how they would try to push each other away.
I am probably looking way too deep into it, and for all I know, the dance will be completely different than what we see in SBS, but the english major in me doesn't stay calm.
