Hey Vidya,
It was a nice update and i think you have potrayed a strong side of ishitha's character perfectly..

I think the way which ishitha has adopted to get out of the relationship with subbu has justified her nature..

Also wanted to see how ishitha would confront raman after this fiasco..it would be interesting because she has already started blaming him in her thoughts..And then ishitha realising it was Raman's sacrifice(of his love toward's her) that brought subbu and her together,..and so on...

Eagerly waiting for your next chapter...and then want to read a passionate ISITHA moment too...

Thank you,

Hello YHMians, back with a new part...not proof checked...so excuse the errors!

Thanks for all the likes and comments..every comment is a motivation to write more...thanks a ton!

Part 7:

Raman, on the other hand was smiling and expecting her to tell something. He was under the impression that she had opted for a divorce for him, to get back to him. That is why when her parents told him anxiously about her sudden decision of separation from Subbu and also that she was talking with Subbu, he just impulsively took a brave decision to stand by her. He thought he would make it easier for her by letting her parents know that he was with her in her decision and would always be there for her.

But now, Ishita's glaring, accusing eyes told him a different story though...

***********************

She didn't want the conversation before her parents. She silently went to the balcony of her room. Raman followed her there.

He knew something was not right but then ignored the thought and smiled, "tumne bohat jaldi sab kuch sort kardiya...I never thought you would be so quick...especially after you walked away that day..."

She continued her staring as if gauging his expressions to know what he intended. After a whole minute, she probed accusingly, "tumne amma appa se kya kaha Raman?"

"Wahi jo sacch hai", his reply was honest and most casual and he instantly added, "But tell me this, what did you tell to Subbu? He seemed really mad at me...hmmm hona bhi chahiye...usse lagtha hoga ke maine usse usski biwi cheen li...par sacch toh..."

Ishita snapped him short, "sacch toh kya Raman?? Sacch yahi hai ke tumne mujhe usske haath mein deh diya tha...aur ab waapas paane ki khoshish kar rahe ho, huh??"

She didn't let him reply to it but just continued, "But let me tell you very clearly Mr Raman Kumar Bhalla...yeh wish kabhi poori nahi ho sakthi...Just get out of here...ab kabhi bhi mere life mein interfere matth karna...main akele reh sakthi hoom...I don't need Subbu as well as you Raman..."

Raman tried his best to convince her about their destinies and also that their life and happiness was only together but she didn't hear anything at all. She had made her decision to part ways with not only Subbu but also Raman or for that she was not going to let any man into her life.

The divorce happened without any major hassles because the consent was mutual from both sides. She hadn't told her real reasons to anyone though all tried to convince and also emotionally stop her from proceeding in this. Subbu also didn't speak about it. They had just mentioned compatibility issues and also that they had been living separately for over 6 months now. But yes, the gossip about Ishita's affair with Raman was floating around making it a little difficult for her and her family but she stood strong and determined. Once everything was over, she confronted him just outside the court room. She had to do this. It was going to be his punishment for life.

She walked to him and said that she wished to speak to him for one final time in private. They moved to the end of the corridor and she gave him back the ring and some jewellery which he had gifted her so far.

He didn't say anything as he was still furious over her betrayal. It was something which he couldn't take off his head or forget. His husband side, the male ego was bruised badly by it. The fact that his wife had warmed up another guy was revolving in his head and tormenting him. Something which she wanted to happen too! It was her revenge that could eat his head lifelong. He didn't want to prolong the conversation and so took all the jewels she handed over and turned to walk away but she voiced, "Don't repeat what you did to me to any other girl Subbu..."

He stopped in his tracks as the realization of what she said hit him hard. "She knew it...and thats why she..." his thoughts snapped when she added, "kyun ki jab koyi apna dokha dehta hai toh bohat dard hota hai...seh nahi paathe...it kills us from inside...umeedh hai ke tum ab yeh baat acche se samajh chuke honge...mere dokhe ki baat sunnke hi tumaare bhura haal hogaya tha na?"

He turned around stunned at her words while she said "Good bye Subbu" and walked away without waiting for a response from him. He was literally stumped and numbed to say anything at all.

A year later, approximately two months since she had legally separated from Subbu.

She signed the register as the registrar guided her through it. Soon, the pen passed onto him and he signed too. Though they were standing beside each other, their mind states were miles apart. He was happy and smiling at having finally brought her into his life while she seemed merely obliging to it. Every face around her was smiling and their hearts beaming with joy at finally securing Raman and Ishita's future.

She looked elegant and pretty as always in her royal blue silk saree and simple accessories. He couldn't take his eyes off her ever since she stepped into the corridor of the office. It was a last minute decision to get married today and also in a simple manner. Ishita was of the opinion that they had already done a grand wedding once. The result was before them. Both their 1st marriages had gone for a toss and so now she joked that they would experiment a simple court marriage. She had casually remarked that even if the wedding breaks away in between, we wouldn't regret that we wasted a lot of money.

It was a casual funny remark for most of them but the deeper meaning surely pricked Ishu's mother and of course Raman. She didn't wait to explain them by what she meant and brushed it off as her sense of humour. Her changed attitude and talks perplexed all especially Raman but he chose to ignore it. Bhalla family was happy for Raman. Only thing which mattered to them was Raman and his happiness. If he would be with Ishita, then be it. So they had accepted the cross cultural marriage without any hassles. It sure was a shock for the Iyer family but then after the divorce with Subbu, they were too shaken and Mrs Iyer was down with health issues.

Ishita had tried her best to stop all this from happening but she had to surrender before her mother's health problems. She didn't want to give her mother more tensions.

She had also told Raman that it was her inability to conceive a baby that had caused major rifts in her marriage with Subbu and so she wasn't an ideal candidate for marriage. She smirked in self pity so that he would back away from the marriage but he didn't. She couldn't understand what made him stick onto it and the only thing which topped her mind in her present aversion to men and their mean side was that Raman lusted for her. It was just his craving and desire for her that was making him overlook all her flaws she listed out to him. She sarcastically chuckled thinking that he was no different from typical men who only knew to use and exploit women.

With that loathing in mind generally towards him, she stepped into their room. Their families had been there till late evening and had left soon after a small dinner party for close friends and relatives.

All through the day and especially the party, she was silent and she kept looking away from him but his eyes were only looking out for her and yearning for one glance from her.

She looked resplendent in the turquoise netted designer saree which he had given her. It accentuated her curves and her feminine beauty outshined as always. With light make up and simple jewellery set studded with white stones adorned, she looked dazzling. She was indeed the centre of attraction. Her white stoned nose pin looked cute on her pert nose. He smacked himself for checking her out so keenly and tried his best to keep his focus steady elsewhere but all his efforts went vain. She lured him back time and again. It was getting difficult to stay away from her. He wished that the party was over soon and people left them alone.

Be it the prayers from him or his wish, here she was finally in his room, their room from today. He heaved a sigh of relief that his family decided to give them some privacy.

She didn't even notice his entry as her mind was totally blocked in various thought processes. The logical side of her which was void of the hatred knew that her demeaning thoughts about Raman and all men in general wasn't right but her heart failed her each time she thought about it.

Only when she heard him bolt the door, did her thoughts snap and she turned to him. He smiled and went closer voicing in relief, "Finally they left us alone...ab hum aaraam se..."

As if she knew what he wanted from her and what he was going to say, she stood facing him with her arms crossed against her. He surprised her by saying, "aaraam se baat kar sakthe hai ya so sakhte hai..."

She was a little taken aback by his talk. She wanted to accuse him, scold him, ask him questions but she couldn't do any of it.

He held her hands in his gently and said, "aaraam se so jaao Ishita...it's late"

He led her to her side of the bed. When she looked surprised, he surprised her further by pointing to the couch, "Couch bhi hai..."

She couldn't help a smile at his talk. It was her first genuine smile after so many days. But she suppressed it to herself.

He knew what she thought about him and also realized that she wasn't ready for a relationship at this point. He would slowly bring her around and win her trust back. He promised to himself that he would shower her with so much love that she will forget every sorrow, every hatred of her past and learn to love again. Before that, they would first become the Raman and Ishita who were close friends once. He wanted to rewind back the time and relive it and this time, without any slip or blunder from his side.

As they settled on two extreme sides of the bed, both their hearts ached for sure.

He sadly realized that even though they were so close to each other, her heart was miles away from his.

So how was it? pls do reply...

I know Raman's promise and the situation sounds a little filmy but human minds slip bhi kar saktha hai...ek hi ghar mein, ek hi room mein zyaadha din dur nahi reh sakthe 😆😉
