REVIEW

From Wednesday to Baby, Neeraj Pandey has always given espionage thriller with a common man playing the central character.

After Special Ops 1.0, we get a special series dedicated to showing life story of Himmat Singh with Sepcial Ops 1.5. The series cannot be considered as a prequel or as sequel to Special Ops but hints that Special Ops would soon be franchise like Hollywood's Bourne series.

The series as everything; action, thrill, locations, cinematography and ABOVE ALL tight script helm by ace director and performed by seasoned actor Kay Kay Menon as the lead Himmat Singh.

Even if you haven't watched Special Ops 1.0 you can easily enjoy the series without missing anything. The swift flow of story line with surprising twists and turns in the espionage world keeps you glued to almost three hours. That too without any bollywood songs, comedy gimmicks and loo breaks.

The series was designed for OTT and it works like wonder.

I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves thriller movies.

I would rate : 4.0/5.0

Finished watching the show yesterday. Really enjoyed it. Definitely recommending it. Pace is also better than season 1.

Namaste,

The Special Ops franchise has been a surprise since its first edition.

Trust Neeraj Pandey-Shivam Nair to nail a subject like that and Kay Kay Menon to Ace the role.

However, the prequel sure seemed not fully baked or may be our expectations are quite high.

Firstly, the locales, shots, cinematography and length were really good. Kudos to the team to have pulled it out especially in such challenging times. As always, very nice background score.

Coming to the pace and content. While the concept of honey trapping is quite old and wide spread, the show had a tad bit of an over-kill.

The limited action sequences could have been choreographed better and shot more convincingly.

Somewhere Himmat Singh's younger version was slightly less convincing (may be because the current day Himmat Singh has left an indelible mark). Gautami Kapoor, a brilliant actor seemed to have limited role where the scope was ample.

Same for Aftab Shivdasani, who in the limited space was quite effective.

From the first edition, I always thought Vipul Gupta is a good actor but has never been used to his potential.

May be how Himmat Singh formed his network would be good to see.

Will be waiting to see a new (Neeraj Pandey) perspective to smaller but significant global events.
