People here have a lot of problems. Yes, westerners are rude to their elders, but their elders aren't much better. The mentality here is that if you have a kid, you only support them until they're eighteen. After that, you kick them out of your house. When the parents grow old, their children pay them back by throwing them into a nursing/care home. That's all because the parents literally got rid of them at eighteen. It works both ways. It's a real problem.

Me too. And his parents recognise it soon enough. Otherwise the kids life is gonna get ruined.

Maybe that's why more and more people go into depression these day. Because they don't have a support system.
They are lonely and try to make up for it by having a boyfriend or a girlfriend so that they have someone to call their own. And physical relationships always come with a lot of baggage which they aren't able to carry.
It's almost like a vicious cycle.
