I have always thought so myself.

At least with a death sentence, they can't re-offend. The most heinous rape in this country would only amount to a life sentence, potentially giving people a chance to get out.

Death sentence is a very rare case in India as well.
I always believe that rape is a far more heinous crime than murder. The punishment should also be graver than a mere life sentence which is for 14years at the max.

In real life too, rapist should be allowed to live a dignified life. Killing is no solution. Violence can never be an answer to any question. And life punishment just doesn't make any sense. I mean what difference would 14 years make?

In fact they should not be jailed at all. They should be allowed to roam freely. Even if they made a mistake. It's not really their fault you know. They always end up saying the girl provoked me. So the fault is that they get easily provoked.

So they should allowed to roam about freely, BUT just take away from them, what makes them extremely proud. THEIR SO CALLED MANLINESS. If they never feel provoked again then they would never err, ever. No nasty girl would be able to force them to commit such a heinous crime. So even they would be free.
