But why Draupadi Swayamvar? Even if Draupadi accepted Karna (to participate) or Pandavas lost they would have still got some other way to return.

Things won't have changed at all in Mahabharat story through that Swayamvar

They just wanted to capitalise on the Karna sympathy that everyone suddenly had post SPMB

Back then Aditya sir was famous movie star so he didn't want to take a step back to doing TV , BP sir made sure that he got time to do movies as well and he liked his role after 26 episodes and he stayed on

Yes inspector Jayant ( Tushar Dalvi from Mere Sai ) entered after Viren left in ep 69 and left after ep 80 but they did give justification in his first episode saying tnat he was from an other department and was only here for a few weeks

Sudhakar ( Dhananjay sir ) actually had more lines before Abhijeet entered the show

And there used to be another female cop before Asha who entered the show in ep 7...her name was Inspector Mridula

Initially CID was made to air another channel so they had a rotating cast for 6 episodes ( those 6 episodes were shot in 1992) and once the show was greenlit they had a more stable cast

Oh that makes sense, though I don't think Aditya sir was famous movie star in 90s, yes he did work in a few movies in supporting roles undoubtedly but he got most noticed through CID

In fact Shivaji Satam sir was a bigger movie character and stage actor. Yet he was doing this, but then OK all have their own preferences

Actually till the time Viren was there, show mostly focused on ACP and the first inspector, Daya was never even treated as a detective, he was like a Jr. Artist standing behind, they didn't even care to think a name for their character, just used his real one interchanging Dayanand S. to S. Dayanand Thats why I feel he was the one to gain maximum from CID.

Selected as a Jr. artist, he end up as a parallel lead and probably one of the faces of the show, even now when people remember CID, Daya is the first name that pops up post ACP Pradyuman (even before Abhijeet)

Infact if DKP doesn't have a brain freeze moment or get threatened by the ML fanbase, this will reach the level of S2.

I like Odysseus and his role in the Trojan war....coming to think of it Paris stealing Helen and Menaleusfighting a war to bring her back is quite simillar to Ramayan....the only difference being that Helen left with Paris on her own ( as per the version I read )
