Veer was not under any obligation when he was tricked. He could have gone for an annulment but he did not. However, once he brought Tapu back, accepted their marriage, promised to fulfil it to her parents, filled her maang then he most definitely was obligated to nibhao it because he had ACCEPTED it, even if it was for sacrificial reasons. By just filling the sindoor to get her to agree to come with him, he insulted and misused it.
