I was just wondering what kind of message Uttaran is giving to community about the sacred institution of marriage...
1. Obsession is justified
2. Love is just not important if above criteria is satisfied by either of the partners
3. Suffering... That's what it's all about!
4. Divorce is v convenient, u can go in and out of yur partner's house/life regardless of how he/she feels; so it is just as trivial as marriage
5. U don't need to have any solid foundation, not even companionship to get married
6. Even if u don't trust someone you go ahead n still get married to satisfy egos
7. Tricking, lying, deceit... All can be good means to the end... Marriage, which still will not end when truth is revealed; moreover they become the absolute necessity to make any marriage successful
8. It's ok to continue loving someone else after marriage without giving yur marriage a fair go. In fact it's more than ok to pursue that love with all u'v got!
9. Marriage is a sad, bad joke!!
As much as we know that most of these things happened ages ago or probably still happen in rural areas, educated ppl making such choices when they hav all the liberty is what is getting to me! I wudnt mind Cvs showing some of above in the show, but this serial is horribly negative about all marriages!! None of the married couples r happy in any generation!!!!
Am I the only one getting these vibes or does anyone agree?? Try putting yurself in the above listed scenarios and count how often u will say "I will still get/remain married"
I just shudder at the level of negativity and unhappiness shown in this show....
