On the other hand in season 2 I found maya's actions justifiable as she did not use past trauma and injustices to do anything bad to people who had no connection to her bad past, where in season 1 arjun, his family and saanjh had to deal with the repercussions of what maya had gone through in her past when they were not even the villains of her traumatising past the way the season 2 targets of maya were.

I guess then I disliked season 1 maya mostly for the reason because people were too defensive of criticism towards maya unnecessarily even when she was wrong by using her past as excuse whilst trashing other characters who didn't do much to deserve as much criticism as maya. And I remember being trashed and abused on the forum then when pointing this out so I left. OK my off topic rant is over, but it's been years since I spoke about beyhad and the first time I came across someone who shared my same opinion about maya of season 1 so I couldn't hold back lol.

you’re not alone. Actually I wasn’t a fan of the show at all, her acting was definitely great though. But the show’s fandom was overly vocal about bashing anyone who disliked it hence no one speaks about the toxicity of her character

So glad to know there are more people who share my view on this character but due to toxic portion of the fandom they couldn't be vocal about it.

Well don't worry u are at the right place there are more people who share ur views. It's only her acting I admired for it was different than the usual crying and sacrificing but holy cow she was one messed up crackpot often leaving me scared and worried with her mania . God people can be so dense at times I for one never admired her character and hated how Arjun and sanj had to always put up and pay the repacussions of her behavior. I despised it when she tried to frame arjuns brother for raping or molesting her. That I don't remember clearly but that was when I had enough and stopped watching the show as I was shocked with the justification people came up with in defense of her antics and devious behavior.

Honestly I love shows that has a strong ML.. Here ML himself is pendulum..🤢 Pendulum bhi sharma jaye use dekh ke.. Still fatejo chemistry & their friendship attracts me.. Par ab to kya hi bolu..🤣 Bas yaha bashing padhne aa jati hu kabhi kabhi..😆 I'm a silent reader in this forum.. But you guys are really great, doing masti..😆❤️

She was ICONIC. The acting, the dialogues, every single thing was amazing. That is a proper villain...chameli looks like cheap version 😆

Omg how on earth people could defend her over such a disgusting act? I remember saying on the forum that most infamous serial killers came from dysfunctional families where they faced abuse yet society and law does not excuse such criminals of acts they commit on innocents just for atrocities done to them by someone else and what was the forum member's/ maya fan defenses? That this is a show and not real life lol, and of course I was then abused when I countered this by saying that maya and her traumatic childhood is also not real life and just fiction so what's the point of defending fictional crimes committed by a fictional character out of sympathy for a fictional traumatic past 🤣Ooh they did not like that one bit 😈

Me too but we usually have ML who are nothing more than props but mehndi hai rachnewali as a breath of fresh air. Raghav literally dominates the whole screen he has the most expressive set of eyes I've come across.
