Hiya! Probably not a good idea to make such a controversial post for my first post here in this forum, but from what I've seen this seems to be a rather reasonable place to discuss disagreements or disappointments with the show, however today I wanted to talk about the cast of Udaariyaan? I see a lot about the story and the characters but not much about the actors themselves,
And to the most controversial part of this post, I think the acting on this show is sub-par at best. I think I was drawn to this show for the chemistry between FaTejo and the hopes of a fairytale-larger-than-life romance they had the ability to portray, and both Ankit and Priyanka deserve immense praise for making that click. But as individuals, or even as anyone else on this show, I don't think the acting clicks for me at all. Maybe I'm being nitpicky or too critical because it's their first show but a majority of the cast seems to be way more intrigued with their social media and promoting their offscreen antics than they do about being passionate towards acting or truly merging with their characters. Perhaps, it's because I'm so used to an era of actors in ITV that didn't have social media until quite recently. Also watching some interviews, the cast feels super entitled about TRPs or gaining viewership when they know people want good storylines and good acting. I feel if Udaariyaan wasn't Udaariyaan, a majority of the cast wouldn't be able to carry an audience based on acting alone.
About the story itself, I'm super bummed out about Fateh's characterization and no matter how good Ankit's acting becomes, I feel it will forever be overpowered by how awfully his character has shaped. I really wish Tejo will follow in the example of Mauli, becoming her own woman independent of how horribly she's been mistreated by a man. But after all, this is ITV so I'm keeping my expectations low. In regards to Isha, I really wish she gets more than playing the evil, annoying villain so we can see what she's capable of...
Again, I apologize if this comes off as rude or insensitive, however I think it could serve as quite an interesting discussion here. And please feel free to disagree (as I feel most will) civilly, there's no need to get disrespectful.
