Hi everyone, just generally curious about the show? Is this a Sikh family portrayed in this show? They show little to no Sikh traditions, but their last names are all Sikh jatt last name.

No they are Punjabi Family and not Turban clad Sikh family.

In Sikh they dont wear Bindi aur Sindoor nor do they go for Marriage around fire.

It's normal Punjabi hindu family . Gurudwara and Wahe Guru are reverred in Punjabi hindu families so are other gods and goddesses .

But I have seen them going to Gurudware more then temple .

Thanks for clarification - I got confused as their last names are Jatt (landowners) - who are mostly Sikh Punjabis

I did not know that . Infact i don't know much as how flexible Sikhs can be .

Many are quit open to Mata rani and organise mata ki chowki . But many don't. It's different with different people . In Fact not all Sikhs wear turbans as well .

Marriage rituals. Well official Sikh weddings are different as I have seen on tv. But then I know where hindu rituals are done too (May be it was some Hindu Sikh wedding ! )

Their is whole range in Punjab . So I may not know everything.

I think they are Sikh family, but they show them doing a mix of Hindu and Sikh rituals so it makes sense and appeals to the audiences. It's like how they sometimes speak only few sentences of Punjabi but most of the time they are speaking hindi

Hey , defintely they are Jatt Sikh families as their surnames suggest that Virk and Sandhu

I was expecting the rituals n stuff to be done in a jatt sikh traditional way but it did not happen

Wt i assume is being a punjabi and also a Artist , sargun knows that religious sentiments are very fragile in our country and there were some issues in the pasts in other shows with performing sikh traditions not in exact way and ppl had filed case and all

May be to avoid all the chaos being its first show of producers too , they dun want any controversy from smallest of the things coz hindu rituals are there in all shows n they know it well too but may be they are not confident in using the Lawaan for marriage and other stuff

They did Jaggo as per the jatt sikh family traditions and that was really cute and even after the mayiyaan thing was done , they way mothers put hand on the wall five times is also authentic , i am punjabi jatt sikh girl so know these traditions in detail and they dun perform these in Hindu families specially Jaggo

Mataa di chowki is normal , some ppl have belief in that and they do that ,

So cant say but ita fine as long as show is doing superb

hey, yes Sikh jatt lastnames, the makers screwed up! typically they would not be able to portray gurudwara wedding, because there could not have been that much drama like jasmine walking off etc etc therefore they opted for a vidhi wedding, they could have used last names that belong to arora or khatri caste as those guys are Punjabi but do traditional vidhi weddings but they also go to the gurudwara.. etc

weddings between jatt families will always be lama phere, unless it was intercaste marriage..

as for newly weds we jatts Sikhs would typical not wear manglasutras and sindoors on everyday basis unless it was for an event just for fashion unless you live in a city like Delhi I noticed some women do just to fit in or their used to the culture not sure.. just something I noticed last time I visited a family in delhi

but chooda yes 40 days for sure

but here in Canada there's no time so like 7 days until when you have to go back to work LOL

they didn't use sindoor on Tejo in the beginning but now they do I guess it just stands out

so yeah this is a show..
