I think they were trying to portray then as a sikh family as mentioned my another person @1987Roso there are many things that are Shown which are not practiced in really life.

Sikh family can have people wearing turbans but men also have their hair cut as well. I think a lot of things are hard to show and you have to be careful with religious sentiments and not to show anything wrong. Chooda is definitely what Sikh newly wed wear but I think the length depends on the individual. I have seen some wear it upto a year

yep.. some people wear it until they get pregnant.. but its usually reduced in size because hard to do daily chores etc

I just wish they show some real culture when they show Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, etc.. To represent them properly.. Not club together..Like they do it for South India, etc..

Since many thinks they are like that watching serials..But no so..

also the name Tejo.. is usually a nick name given to someone named

Tej Kaur Herę they say her name is Tejo Kaur..

my grandma and my great aunt are both referred to as Tejo both have a legal name Tej Kaur..

Omg my grandma is referred to Tejo sometimes as well!!
