Is it weird if I dislike the series but I

I read the series in the summer of 07.. so I guess i'm a twilight original.. I liked the books at first.. but now that like everyone has jumped on the bandwagon by reading it I pretty much dislike it. I'm sick of all these kids going "its the bestest book everr".. like seriously? Read something beyond teen fiction.. or at least superbly written teen fiction, hence Jk rowling or even Meg Cabot. Another reason why I don't like it because the female antagonist is pretty much an anti-feminist from my comprehension and what I got from the series.

anyways, I love Jacob's character.. In new moon and eclipse especially.. breaking dawn was such a waste of time.. and how it ended left me on a sour note for the whole series then. I mean he imprints? how completly ridicolous is that.. and especially on the girl who's pants he jsut wanted to get in [sorry for lack of better word but yeah]'s daughter.

And I honestly suggest and ADVISE whoever thinks this is the best series they ever read to go google 'good books' or something. Read something beyond twilight.

1. i think you know how much i agree..? twilight isnt the best thign on earth, the main reason this series is so famous is because of hormonal teenage girls infactuated and completely obsessed with "edward cullen."

I love the books and its not the best series ever, but its close to it. I don't like Bella's character all that much, but I love Jacob and Edward.. I wanted Jacob-Bella to end up together, but its okay.. The ending did make me mad because he imprinted, I was not expecting that at all. I think he should've stayed alone or something else.. but not imprint on Bella's daughter.. that was just wrong.

OK .... I agree that these MAY not be the best book series ever ..... but I completely disagree with the fact that "only teenage girls" like it ....I mean that the one defence twilight-haters use .... I m not a girl [obviously :lol:] .....but me and me friend [who is a boy] just LOVE the series ...We have read Harry Potter series , The Inheritance Trilogy , Lord of The Rings Trilogy , The Complete Chronicles Of Narnia , His Dark Materials Trilogy .... Famous Five Series , Secret Seven Series .... and MANY more ....But the best ones I like are Harry Potter [on No.1] and Twilight on [no,2] ...My friend
also likes the Inhertance Trilogy a lot..... I am not trying to brag in here ...but everyone has his/her OWN choice/opinion ....

I do not also understand the Bella being anti-feminist thing .....also She is a Flawed charechter .....Every human has flaws....For eg .Lets take one of the most famous ficitional charechters .... Albus Dumbledore ....did he not have any flaws ????........

Twilight might be not the best series in your eyes, but for me, I have read many other books except HP. I know many might hate me for this but I never read HP, and never will. Wizards and Magic maybe isn't just my thing.

I think it is very ridiculous of SM to come up with Jake - Renesmee angle..loving the mother and the daughter too..makes the character of Jake really feeble. Personally I never liked this character..his love for Bella was always more physical..he had always tried to force himself on her. No offence to team Jacob but everyone has their own views. If someone is finding Twilight the best series then I think its their personal opinion..I dun think anyone shud have problem with it.

You have no idea how much I agree with you. I don't really find the series that well written or consider them anything beyond an escapist novel that got published and glorified by sheer luck. For me, they are decent when you flick the button to your brain off but not much in any other way. I also agree with your comments regarding the blatant misogyny in the text. Honestly, it drives me up the wall.
