Wooden acting—most obvious when Bella storms out of the house (or in this case, placidly threatens to leave Forks in a monotonous tone). Stewart does well in the scene where James infects her with venom, but otherwise, she looks too stolid and not at all like the volatile Bella.
Too much dialogue is omitted from the script. Sure, a lot of lines in the book are cheesy, but lines like "You smell good in the rain" and "Do I dazzle you?" are what made 'Twilight' so popular with teens.
Bad hair and makeup. Seriously, we've seen better vampire makeup in Halloween parties. Haven't the makeup artists ever heard of blending?
The color of Edward's neck is different from his face, and his lipstick is too red. Jacob Black has hair extensions that look like ropes, and is his nose a prosthetic?
Dated special effects. They really should've spent more on the movie, considering the huge fan base. And why were the fight scenes so short?
Bothersome product placements. We saw them all: Apple iPods, MacBooks, Nokia cell phones, beer, Nestl drinks, cars, etc. The movie felt like an overdrawn commercial at some points. (And who refers to their TV as a "flatscreen" all the time?)
A mediocre soundtrack. Occasionally a mood-spoiler except, maybe, for Iron and Wine's "Flightless Bird, American Mouth," in the prom scene.
The tinkling sound you heard whenever Edward "sparkled." It reeked of '80s Filipino films—sparkle with sound! Kumukutikutitap, bumubusibusilak.
Robert Pattinson should've worked out to spare viewers the sight of his less-than-perfect, hairy torso. "I should've had a six-pack, but it didn't work out," he said. We agree."

You have no idea how much I agree with you. I don't really find the series that well written or consider them anything beyond an escapist novel that got published and glorified by sheer luck. For me, they are decent when you flick the button to your brain off but not much in any other way. I also agree with your comments regarding the blatant misogyny in the text. Honestly, it drives me up the wall.
I think Jacob's the only redeeming feature in the books and the only reason I still am attached to the Twilight fandom. Baring BD, his character is pretty awesome despite him forcing himself on Bella (which I thought was disgusting and was hoping Bella would condemn him for it). It would have been FAR more interesting to have the books be centered about his rite of passage than the Bella-Edward "love" (read lust) angle. To me, anyone who truly Twilight is "teh bestest book ever" isn't very familiar with literature. Like it all you want but don't declare it something it so clearly isn't. Sure, we all have personal likes and dislikes but Twilight isn't ever going to become a classic (something the 'best' book should definitely be). In front of classic novels like "The Great Gatsby", Twilight does not fare well. Also, Twilight has a limited demographic. It tends to appeal only to the female readers with few male readers considering its sole focus on romance. It doesn't particularly appeal to the fans of the Vampire folklore either considering how Meyer managed to turn such dangerous mysterious creatures into sparkly fairies. . That is 100% true.. die hard vampire fiction fans think of twilight has a joke.. tI so wished that Bella wouldve killed people in BD *evil smirk*.And Edward + Bella's love isn't? It's actually lust, nothing more. There is ample evidence in the text to back this. You are so right.. in twilight Edward and Bella go to that restuarant and he reveals himself.. and then like 2-3 days later.. they are madly in love and "your are my life" bowlsheeet?! What kinda crap is that.. I mean they have a nice little partial meal at a restaurant..next day they hang out a bit at school..and then the next day he leaves early to go "hunting" and then saturday was that meadow day..and then they are soulmates? Yeah.. love doesn't work that way..and now sadly all these teen girls are going "omg.. edward cullen is so romantic..i want a guy just like him".. they want a guy who tries to control them? a guy who is dull as heck? a guy who will try to force you not to see your friend? a guy who keeps secrets from you even though it's from "your own safety"?

@mysterygurl1427; Obviously the official website of the movie will not post or show the negative revies.
On IMDB, it got 5.8/10.. that's not that great. My favourite movie Syriana has a 7.2/10 and V for Vendetta has a 8.2.

If the author of Twilight herself, Stephenie Meyer, was pleased enough with the screenplay to sign off on it and allow it to be made into a movie, then why should I whine and complain about what is or is not included in the film?😕 Obviously, the scenes she left out were ones that she felt weren't an integral part of telling Bella and Edward's story, so that's why they weren't included. I do feel bad that the dialogues "Do I dazzle you" are no where to be found...but to me, that's nowhere near as big a deal as people are making it out to be. Besides, I'll bet that there were scenes that they shot that ended up on the cutting room floor that will end up back in the movie when it comes out on DVD.😃i really love it, and all these "mistakes" are only considered mistakes because we want it to be exactly like the book, which btw, we knew wasn't going to happen.😊
i think of it this way- twilight the MOVIE is based of the BASIC story of twilight the BOOK. it is not twilight the book:the movie. The movie held the same meaning, emotions, and kept to the BASIC story line. 😃we have to stop flipping out over the stupid details like how the makeup or the lipstick was. serioulsy. the movie isn't purely how everything looks.UGH!! it doesn't freekin matter!!!About the dazzling Edward well The way it's described in the novel is that his skin glistens as though thousands of tiny diamonds are embedded in it . . . and that's exactly the look that they created. What were you expecting exactly? Beams of light to come shooting off his skin? 😆Now THAT would have been "lame." The criticisms that you have pointed out, im sorry to say they are not strong enough to prove how bad the movie was. According to me Twilight is the best Movie released this year. It deserves every bit of stardom coming its way.

Im sure you have heard smth called "Love at first sight" and it still exists. 😳You don't need one decade to realize if someone has the qualities to be your life partner, neither do you go dating for the nth time to know him properly. Sometimes just the first glance is enough to decide if its love. According to SM, Edward was inhumanly beautiful. Everything about him was mesmerizing, everything about him invited her in. Its obvious for a teenager like Bella to have feelings for him, you cannot call it lust just because the love happened abruptly. Edward's not so human qualites is what makes the movie different, the lovestory an epic. 😊This is not a lovestory of two humans but one mortal and one immortal, its ridiculous to expect what we usually see in random lovestories.
And whom are you calling a friend? Someone who tries to force a kiss on you, blackmail you so that you get weak and come running into his arms??? 😲if thats the definition of a true friend according to ur dictionary then i have nothing more to say here and im glad I dont have a friend like him😃

I'm gonna try to make this short and simple ...1. sometimes its not all about the author. Then what is it all abt?😕2. agreed;; but there were some scenes that they couldv'e added b.c the movie was sort of slow, and they stretched some scenes. within that time, there could have been atleast 3 more scenes added.SLOW??😲😲Thats a very different opinion I am coming across😆..I thought it was too fast..they have cut out so many scenes and tried to make them shorter omitting the dialogues. I think they could have added some more scenes..but then if they do that, they need to omit some scenes as well..I dont think Catherine had put any unnecessary scenes (according to me)3. maybee; but it was more of a joke to me. i mean rob's face looked like he needed to puke or go to the bathroom. he looked constipated in most scenes, such as the biology scene. You really didn read Midnight Sun partial draft ..right? 😕If you would have read it then you should have have known what trauma edward was going through when bella sits beside him..how his mind was planning to kill her in some way throughout the whole class..Thus i felt Robs expressions were perfect..he needd to show how much he was suffering from inside..
