Producer Sumeet H Mittal 'livid' with Iqbal Khan's reasoning for quitting Tumhari Paakhi

Iqbal Khan is certainly to be missed in Shashi-Sumeet Productions' Tumhari Paakhi on Life OK. The actor recently cleared the air in the media about his reasons for quitting the very popular show.

Well, Iqbal mentioned to the media that he parted ways with the show owing to certain track changes that forced him to portray some negative shades. He had pointed out that this was one of the many reasons for him deciding to quit the project.

While Iqbal clearly stated his point of view, Producer Sumeet H Mittal seemed quite upset over Iqbal's reasoning for quitting the show.

Here is Sumeet H Mittal expressing his displeasure over Iqbal's statement to Tellychakkar.com saying, "As creators of the show, we need to keep in mind the overall story and how it needs to progress. Actors only think of their track and miss the big picture which is plain short-sightedness. We have to work towards ensuring that the story progression remains true to its core subject, and not look at individual actor's track in isolation."

A strong statement, indeed!!

A point to note here is that Iqbal has had a record of quitting most of his earlier shows wherein he played the lead protagonist.

We wonder what Iqbal has to say now!![/quote]

I kinda still wonder why Iqbal quits so many of his shows. Oh well, whatever his decision is, it's all done and gone, I respect it, but I don't support it. He's a good actor, and played Anshuman quite well, was liking Aaryaman's character too. Just a shame that he quits shows. I still see the story has a lot of potential, Shraddha is quite brilliant in Pakhi's role. I am enjoying this independent Pakhi.

I agree with you, I really love iqbal and tumhari pakhi is the only show I watched where he acted so don't know about past shows. Im with iqbal as we all know the story had lost its spark and was going nowhere but I think the best thing they could have done was to sit and sort the story out and also to talk to iqbal about it, I know the story runs with the creatives desisions but it would have been better if they made track changes?, I mean look at the trps for instance? its sad but true, the story could of had potential without making desions such as killing anshuman ( they also could have showed him alive but never! This is probably why he quit I don't blame him.

Divyam Dama aka Ayaan of Life Ok's Tumhari Paakhi - My computer is my best friend in which I love to play Cricket and use Google. I also use Facebook where I read fans' messages on my Facebook page. Iqbal bhaiya (Iqbal Khan) and Shraddha didi (Shraddha Arya) are best friends on the sets and I spend a lot of time with them.
...
Is Iqbal Khan back? Maybe Iqbal Khan and producer will sort out there differences once they realise Iqbal is needed back to make the show popular again. The CV's have made it clear with Devki to keep Aryaman in the show, who knows Iqbal Khan might get to play Anshuman again as a positive character in a twist after seeing viewer figures go down. Afterall the CV likes to look at the bigger picture. Lets see if he really looks at the bigger picture. It maybe Aryaman coming back and being a better person then leaving. We all know Iqbal Khan had nothing new lined up to so he is free to come back.

He is not coming back for sure.. just yesterday he tweeted to Daniya, one of our IF TP members.. "nope not coming back".

It's sad, because I personally loved him for being on TP. But oh well, the show goes on. We'll have to give CVs time to give us a brilliant story. I am liking Pakhi's journey as a widow after Anshuman's death. Shows much more brilliance in the story, it's a great turn even if it meant killing one of the main characters.

Sure the story lost some interest, but that's what happens when you try to move the story forward. Killing characters are part of storytelling, the creatives should have the freedom to move the story forward how they want without getting blamed for everything. CVs do the storytelling, that's their job. If they have managed to do it for past 6 months, they can manage to do it for the next 6 months. GF-BF track, separation track, Delhi track, Singapore track were all additions to the extension.. have they done a bad job?.. I don't think so.

The idealistic reasoning for the lookalike was to retain Iqbal while trying to start a new story. It is interesting.. to see how Pakhi's life would be when everything she had dreamed about is taken from her. Her life as a widow, finding the strength to live the life for Aayan.

Either way, the storytelling has been what attracted me to the show, has always been. I fully trust that the CVs know what they are doing, and what they want to get out. I have the utmost respect for Iqbal, but his decision to leave will never be something I support. All the best to him for his future endeavors.

Completely agree, she has carried the show as much as Iqbal has. I am sure she'll carry the show to new heights with the other cast. I love this journey in Pakhi's life, because its definitely interesting to see how she'd move on when Anshuman is gone from her life.

Sorry but the current track is super lame n I'm very glad that Iqbal is not a part of it... it is so easy for the producer to blame the actor he could've instead worked on a good script... like he himself spoke about core subject so would like to mention that the story lost its "CORE SUBJECT" with Anshuman's accident... I mean it doesn't make sense to me that the person for whom Paakhi waited for 18 yrs has died... The name of the showis Tumhaari Paakhi n after taking away Tum (read Iqbal) what remains is haari Paakhi... The PH n creatives have completely lost the plot... it was a love story not "Paakhi ki Aatmakatha"... I strongly believe that such good stories which have definite endings shouldn't be dragged... unwanted twists aren't welcomed and as far as Iqbal is concerned he is an actor who likes to do challenging roles... If he isn't enjoying what he is doing how will the viewers like it... As he has said it before "If u promise me a Mercedes but give me a Maruti instead, I would not drive it" I completely agree to him n support his decision!!!! Respect him for being so true towards his work... wish Tumhaari Paakhi had ended on a good note... Nothing against Shraddha she is a superb actress n we all know it... Iqbal had made gr8 friends and he must be surely missing his onscreen family... All I can say good luck to Iqbal for his future projects n good luck to team Paakhi hope the shw does well... for me it ended with Iqbal quitting it!
