It happened with upcoming starlets Rucha Gujrati and Barkha Bisht when they dared to do shows outside Balaji Telefilms and now it's happening to Poonam Joshi who is said to have been sent a legal notice by Ekta Kapoor after she took up the popular Zee TV show Tumhari Disha produced by Pintu and Rupali Guha. Poonam came into the limelight playing Kashish's (Aamna Shrarif) sister Mehak in Kahin To Hoga. She also went on to do a few more supporting roles in her 'mentor's' company. But when Chhavi Mittal opted out of Tumhari Disha because of the generation leap, Poonam was offered the lead role (the one thing lacking in her career till now) in the serial. And the actress eagerly took up the meaty role without without worrying about the time leap or the fact that she was to play mum to grown up children. The fact that she was already playing a young character in Kahin To Hoga was a major consolation. But now it seems both her shows are at loggerheads with each other because of the 'suing' threat hanging over her head. However, Poonam blatantly denied the allegation. "There is nothing of that sort. I am shooting for both the shows", says the actress. This contradicts the statement given by a close source who says, "Yes, it's confirmed that she has been sent a legal notice. In fact Ekta Kapoor personally made threatening calls to the producer Pintu Guha." But when contacted Rupali Guha denied everything and said, "I don't know from where such news comes. Poonam goes to the sets of Kahin To Hoga everyday for a few hours. Everything has been amicably settled." If there was no problem to begin with wonder why things have now been "amicably settled?" |
