Pari wandered over to Priya and cupped her face "You seem a perfect match for my Uma, but first you must pass the test"
Priya's face paled "A match for Uma" she squeaked
Kanak felt stupid, here she was thinking Uma liked her but it was clear he was only so nice to her because he liked Priya
Uma's jaw dropped
"Daadi may I speak to you"
"Not now, Priya must pass the test"
Uma shook his head, he wanted to tell her that it was Kanak he wanted but didnt want to say it in front of everyone incase she didnt want him
Pari smiled slyly, a test of their relationship had to be passed by both, she knew Priya was not the one Uma wanted, but would he fight for the one he wanted
She turned to Kanak "You know I have someone who would be a perfect match for you"
Kanak pointed to herself and Pari nodded
"Unless of course you're interested in someone else"
Kanak gazed over at Uma and then shook her head
"So then its settled, Priya, Kanak, today I will test you both to see if you are the right women for my Uma and my Aditya"
Santosh turned to Pari "What is Aditya like"
"Oh Aditya is a hard-working man, lives close by actually, he would be perfect for Kanak, he has a high education like Kanak, and would provide well for her"
Santosh was ectastic, clapping her hands she turned to Kanak "Would you like to meet him"
She noted how Kanak's gaze was firmly settled on Uma who was looking down
"Look aunty, I am sorry but Uma is not the one for me" said Priya
Pari frowned "But he likes you"
Kanak's mouth went dry, how hadnt she noticed Uma liked Priya
Priya shook her head "Trust me aunty, it isnt me he likes"
"Then who" she turned back to Uma "Is it true you like someone else"
Pari hoped Uma would admit he liked Kanak, or her plan would fail
Kanak walked past them and sat in the car, Santosh followed her and sat next to her
"So Meena was right, you like Uma"
Kanak jumped "No, I" she huffed "Yes, but he doesnt like me"
Santosh looked over at Uma who was looking worriedly over at the car
Santosh pinched Kanak's arm
"Ow bhaboo what was that for"
"Start crying and I will prove he likes you"
"Huh" Kanak muttered and then squealed as Santosh pinched her again
Santosh pulled the window down and then turned to Kanak
"What do you mean you want to carry on with your studies and not marry Aditya"
Pari turned to Uma "Uma I am waiting for an answer"
Uma looked over at Kanak who got out of the car
"I need some space I will walk home"
"Daadi I will be back, im sorry, Kanak's grandmother will take you home" and he ran after Kanak
Kanak tried to walk faster, till Uma turned her around to face him
"Kanak wait, just listen to me"
"About what, theres nothing left to say, you should return to your family"
"Kanak I dont want Priya"
Kanak rolled her eyes "I know that, you want someone else, what has that got to do with me"
"Because I want"
Kanak gazed up at Uma, could Bhaboo be correct? Was it her he wanted?
Kanak sighed before turning to walk away
"You" Uma shouted
Kanak froze, turning around "me"?
"But I am nothing like you"
Uma stepped forward "What does that matter, the heart knows what it wants and my heart wants you"
Kanak looked up at Uma, she had many questions and doubts about how to take this further but right now she wanted to bask in the moment
"I dont want to give you hopes of something I cant give you" Kanak muttered
"What do you mean" Uma asked
"Uma I cant..."

Pari clapped as Uma walked in "Have you brought your future wife with you"
Uma stood to the side to show Kanak who was previously stood behind him
She looked perplexed
"So, are both families in agreement " asked Santosh
Pari nodded "As long as Uma and Kanak are happy then"
They awaited Uma and Kanak's reply
