I'm assuming you're talking about films up till the 80s..

I have only seen some of the popular classics and these are the ones I loved the most -

Anand (1971)

Angoor (1982)

Anubhav (1971)

Anupama (1966)

Anuradha (1960)

Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959)

Khubsoorat (1980)

Mughal-e-Azam (1960)

Mili (1975)

Umrao Jaan (1981)

Some others that I liked and would recommend:

Awaara (1951)

Choti Si Baat (1976)

Ghar (1978)

Junoon (1978)

Kalyug (1981)

Pakeezah (1972)

Parichay (1972)

Pyaasa (1957)

Rajnigandha (1974)

Sahab Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962)

Shatranj Ke Khiladi (1977)

Swami (1977)

These are the films that are on my plan to watch list - Devdas (1955), Chaudhvi Ka Chaand, Kala Bazaar, Piya Ka Ghar, Nadiya Ke Paar, Dosti, Saaransh. Bambai Ka Babu

Won't talk about those that I didn't like.😆

Also, please feel free to recommend me more classics. I've lost interest in current films and have a new found love for older BW films.❤️

Not in particular for only upto 80s, it's just that most classics are made till that era although I mentioned LEKIN in my top 10 most favorite ones which was released in 1991.

Your list is amazing, I loved Junoon as well and also most films of Shyam Benegal even his most under rated and unnoticed film of 2000 HARI BHARI.

I wanted to include tragedy king Guru Dutt's pyaasa and kaaghaz Ke phool , but then the list was too short for 10.

Saahab bibi aur ghulam is another time less favorite classic of nine which you have mentioned in your list

I have seen all from your to be watched list.. all were good... I personally enjoyed Dosti and Piya ka ghar the MOST.

I would VERY STRONGLY recommend you UPHAAR of Jaya Bachchan, it's a true poetry in motion, flawless beautiful film.

Another GEM which I missed in my early post is DO AANKHEIN BARA HAATH from the great v shantaram (not the 90's Govinda's trash.. lol)

I know but I just restricted it to 10 so that members can share and recommend only the most beautiful ones for others.. you can mention more then 10.

Seeta aur Geeta was such an interesting power packed fun movie I found it better then Sridevi's Chalbaaz on the same subject of twin sisters.

GOPI of Dilip. Kumar is another hell of an interesting movie.

I also love most films of Hrishekh Mukhheriji especially Bawarchi.

Also special shot out to director Basu Chatterji, loved most of his classics specially ZEVAR.
