Akshay Kumar Backs off from Hera Pheri, Kartik Aaryan Replacing him

The last two weeks have seen reports about producer Firoz Nadiadwala making multiple rounds at actor Akshay Kumar’s office to discuss the possibility of reviving three comedy franchises – Hera Pheri, Welcome, and Awara Pagal Deewana.  Sources tell us that talks have fizzled out, as Akshay Kumar was not convinced about the quality and vision of the sequel concepts. 

“The paperwork and handshake happened a day back with Firoz Nadiadwala’s office. Kartik Aaryan has signed the dotted lines to play the iconic role of Raju, played by Akshay Kumar in Hera Pheri and Phir Hera Pheri.🤪 Both Kartik Aaryan and Firoz Nadiadwala are keen to sign Anees Bazmee as the director, however, the filmmaker is yet to give a go-ahead from his end,” revealed a source close to the development, adding further that the upcoming Hera Pheri film will reboot the franchise. “Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, who played Shyam and BabuRao in the earlier two films, will continue to reprise their roles,” added the source. If Anees Bazmee signs on, it would be a reunion of him with Kartik after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Apart from Anees, Farhad Samji to is on the list of probable directors, but there is nothing on paper yet for either of the names.

The producer, Firoz Nadiadwala was having a simultaneous conversation with both Akshay Kumar and Kartik Aaryan over the last few weeks. "In fact, meetings with Akshay Kumar had happened as recently as Monday for the 3 films. And it's finally on Thursday that Kartik officially signed on for the film," the source informed.

Can't believe how much greedy Akshay Kumar has become so far. From being one of the most likeable actors, he's now becoming one of the least likeable actors by rejecting the iconic movies and choosing shitty cripts like Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey throughout the whole year. The last thing I'll ever believe is that he rejected the movie because he didn’t like the script, he just doesn’t have the sense of choosing scripts anymore, now all he sees is money and doesn’t prioritize the needs of audience/fans anymore.

After bhool bhulaiya it is Hera pheri franchise where kartik is dethroning him. Good Hera pheri will be success like bb 2.

OMFGGGGG. This entire movie has gone down the drain with Kartik joining it. 🤪

How is this guy getting all of these lucrative projects?? Can't act that well and isn't even a nepokid 😆

Hera Pheri's USP is the trio of Akki-Sunil-Paresh, with neither of them, the film's gonna tank. It’s not like Bhool Bhulaiyyaa where there was only film with a solo hero in that franchise, so it was easier for Kartik to replace that one and his character was not a replacement either. But here I wonder how the hell Kartik will play the role of Raju who's supposed to treat Sunil as his friend that's around his father's age in real life😕

Bold absolutely agree. Hp is hp coz of this trio.. its not bb. I feel it will tank..
