Why Dhoom 3 and Krrish 3 were ignored at all award functions in 2014?

Not saying that they were any classics or anything but when did Bollywood award functions cared about that? They only care about popular films and actors so why were they ignored? Dhoom 3 and Krrish 3 were one of the biggest Blockbusters of 2013. Dhoom 3 was the highest grossing film of all time and it didn't get a single nomination in Filmfare that year. Krrish 3 was only nominated in one category of Best Actor for Hrithik by Filmfare.

At IIFA, again Dhoom 3 got only one nomination of Best Film. Krrish 3 got six nominations in which it won in two technical categories of Best action and special effects.

Other award functions also had the same story. Most of them were completely ignoring both the films or giving them one or two nominations for name sake.

On the other hand, Chennai Express and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani were getting nominated in every single category possible. Chennai Express and SRK were even winning some xyz ridiculous award for "Film of the year" or "Best Entertainer" stupid titles if they weren't winning Best Film or best actor award.

So what was the reason for award functions boycotting these two films?

The Earlier installments of the 2 Franchises were released when content was low and they got nominated. In 2013 so many quality films as oppose to just blockbusters were released

Would you say these 2 films are above

Chennai express

Would you not admit they are a little better than Dhoom 3 and krrish 3 ? Krrish was bullshit from start to finish.

YJHD beats everything alone on music level.

Big hits maybe ...but no one said good things about DHOOM 3  and Krrish. Its just fluke and both  the franchaise had past popularity capital that worked in box office.

Aamir's acting was cringe... public response was pretty bad for Dhoom 3 ... so Yash raj and Jitesh might have mutually decided not to ruffle more feathers since there are other movies that year that people liked and did very well at BO.
