Knowing krishna if he really did not want to offer him anything he would have revealed everything to yudhishtra and duryodhan both of them would have left their claim on thrown

it was just a ploy to plant "what ifs" in his brains.

Hmmm.... have two theories about this:

1. It is an interpolation, as in his response, Karna does not mention Draupadi at all.

2. Last minute, sneaky offer of Draupadi was meant to shame Karna (considering their past). This last minute offer in itself ensured that Karna would never accept (as he's ashamed of himself wrt Dyut Sabha).

Yes i guess it was later interpolation

Re: Krishna's offer.

I'll ask the same question I always ask. Leaving aside the fact he's considered God, who was he to offer Panchali to anyone?

Going by patriarchal rules, was he her father, brother, husband, even son? He was her friend and friend of Arjuna. Is a man allowed to offer his female friend to someone? Can a man offer his neighbor's wife to someone?

Some say he was merely stating what would happen. Problem is by Vedic rules, wife of younger brother is akin to daughter. Wife of older brother can be married by younger brother but not the other way around. In the swayamvar scene, a careful reading shows Panchali never actually garlands Arjuna. Yudhishtira marries her first, leaving legal route for younger Pandavas to marry her. So Karna could not have her as wife since she was akin to his daughter FIVE TIMES OVER.

Either that Panchali bit was an interpolation (as Karna never responds to the taunt) or Krishna said it knowing Karna would also realize it was a faux offer. Karna would know Krishna had no right to offer Panchali, and it would've been illegal in any case. The entirety of the offer was done to dishearten Karna. Psychological warfare... Krishna was a master at it.

Even that drapaudi rejecting karna is not part of bibek debroy s CE which is most credible translation as of now. But yes karna insulting drapaudi and giving idea of her disrobing is Very much part of all the translation. So yeah.

About marriage thingy. Arjun was NOT HER HUSBAND Rest i guess everyone has different theory

For me pandavas desperately wanted this alliance for political purposes ofcourse against their cousins who were better position politically at that point plus ved vyasa s in his conversation with the pandavas reveals about drapaudi s past life boon of marrying all the five pandavas and then these men go to drapaudi Swamyvaar to win her hand in marriage. Since it was archery s competition arjun went ahead with it . That mothers order thing was just an act staged for drapaudi but i think even panchal + krishna wanted this alliance with kuru heir a.k.a yudhishtra and the swaymawar was set up to seek pandavas out the plan was never arjun it was always yudhishtra arjun was just the medium this plan was probably made by drapaudi + krishna + panchal princes this explains why krishna did not participate in Swamyvaar even though he was present. And this explains drapaudi s silence in the potter house otherwise for someone as opinionated as drapaudi to be silent at such an important juncture of her life is indigestible at least to me .I don't find anything wrong with this all of them looking out for themselves plus political marriages were quite common in those days

Another thing is drapaudi being in love with arjuna before marriage is complete bullshit . Ofcourse they did build a relationship in due course of time but this amar prem ghatha which people try to project is how should i put it bakwaas.

@bold- Actually. They're many things which they showed wrong in this Mahabharata!!

They showed Arjun Draupadi having met before Swayamvar, another nonsense. I have a deep hatred for the writers because of spreading this nonsense.

About the Drupad thing, well I am not aware of such a thing in the widely accepted KMG or (Bibek Debroy) version. I maybe wrong again. Drupad was angry due to Drona's students defeating him. But I am not sure he was particularly hell bent on Arjun marrying her.

@bold- I used to adore them- Arjun & Subhadra. So,I literally digged in and searched and many sites and texts said that Arjun fell for her during is vanvaas. He saw her in Dwarka in first time unlike SP Mahabharata where they met at Hastinapur and pulled prank on one another.🤣

As we are talking about star bharat let s not mix it with Mahabharata. In star bharat only arjun saw/met drapaudi before the marriage and when nakul was talking about Swamyvaar and beautiful princess of panchal arjun was shown day dreaming/thinking about her

As per the epic pandavas met drapaudi only at the Swamyvaar and were attracted to her .

About subdhara star bharat showed subhdra being in love/pinning for arjun while according to Mahabharata it was arjun who was attracted to subdhara subhdra at best was indifferent arjun abducted her without her consent

Exactly...And it was Arjun who Abducted her not Subhadra....These creatives just to show Arjun-Draupadi love angle showed some stupid stuffs which didn't occured ever.

Star Plus has its own version. After the Pandavas grew up, everything is their own fanfiction 😆

I don't think the problem was her marrying five men nobody absolutely nobody apart karna ever insulted her for this because it was nothing wrong. She was highly respected woman/personalities of her timea .karna insulting shows more of his mentality. Plus the problem was not her marrying five men the problem was her marrying wrong men who let her down.

Yudhishtra messed up big time in that dice hall and there is no apology/redemption from that

But apart from that i think she had very loving relationship with BANS . Both bheem and arjun spoke up for her in that dice hall.

If a man s desire are celebrated we can do the same for woman.

You know what I literally admired Bheem and Draupadi. They're cool, cute, funny, caring and tender towards one another.❤️

SP obviously exaggerated & took it to Mandap 😆 But I remember reading somewhere that Balaram wanted to get Subhadra married to Duryodhan because he was his favourite disciple. And Dhritarashtra wanted it to happen to establish an alliance with the Yadavas. But yes, it was in early stage & nothing concrete like SP showed 😆

There's even another version which says when Arjun was in Gurukul, there was another kid named Gada. He was Subhadra's cousin. He talked about Subhadra so much that Arjun got interested. And while he was in Dwarika, when he sees her he fell in love. Krishna, knowing this, decided to help his friend. He said if Arjun can make Subhadra love him back, then he will help them to elope. Arjun asked isn't that dishonourable? Krishna said "No, if the woman in question agrees." That's why Arjun has to try and get Subhadra love him back. So Krishna brings Balaram with him & Balaram without recognising Arjun, asks him to visit their place (assuming Arjun was some maha tapaswee). Arjun declined the offer stating that he had vowed never to enter a human dwelling. He could only be outside, communing with nature. Balaram replied that he doesn't need to stay in their home, but he can reside in their garden which is adjoining to Subhadra's palace. And she will do his seva. This was exactly the outcome that Arjun had wanted, and he readily agreed. And soon, Arjun was installed under a tree in Subhadra’s gardens. And while he was residing there, Subhadra asked him about the five pandavas thinking the aesthete and world-traveller under her care must have visited Indraprastha & met the Pandavas too. Arjun told him about his 4 brothers & didn't say anything about himself as he couldn't bring himself to boast about himself. But this picqued Subhadra's interest & she asked about the 3rd Pandava. She told she wished to know about the 3rd Pandav as she has heard he is very brave & courageous guy. From then on Arjun used to tell her about all the battles he had fought, and the ways he had managed to win them all. Arjun and Subhadra stayed together for many years, with Arjun admiring Subhadra and Subhadra falling deeper and deeper for the man whose stories she kept wanting to hear more and more. Finally one day she confesses to him that she has fallen in love with Arjun & wishes to know if he (as in the aesthete) could see future & whether he knows if ever she will get to be together with him. And....voila! Arjun confesses to her who he really is & what was he doing all this time in her garden & Krishna helped them to elope 😆😆

I don't know how authentic it is. But I have read it somewhere.

This was actually cute. How I wish SP had gone for this 😆

I read this one😆
