Gosh!! And I was developing a liking for this guy after all the wedding videos and pictures
Why you do this Anand? 😕

I won't doubt his intentions as I am no one to judge but it came off really pretentious now. He made change in the name only adding S after Sonam made a statement 'who knows he might have changed his' 😕 Some thought process would have gone into it adding 'S' to his name 😆 Sonam didn't add 'A'. She took the last name of his there is difference. Anyway, I should be concentrating on studies why I am into this debate 😆😆

I dont like to judge people based on their personal choices, but I dont like people trying to justify their personal choices either.
You want to change your name, fine!! Go ahead!!
But dont give statements regarding that to media

And the timing of Anand's name change really is something to blame too.
Had he changed the name like Sonam did just after marriage and not waited till Sonam gave this statement, the situation would have been very different.

Good luck for your studies 😛

And then Anand's parents, does she not respect them? Sonam and her stupid statements. Should have left it at it's a personal choice.

Whose surname are you using or FOR A FACT every Indian is ? The FATHER not the Mother because the mother herself changes it to the father's😆 She married to Ahuja n everyone from.their is Ahuja so yeah this comment was more of what u called sonam's 😲🥱
If she wants Kapoor and Ahuja in her name its her wish, her life, can we just stop ghusaofaing FEMINISM everywhere.

It's still pretty much unthinkable in West Bengal to NOT change the surname of the married woman to their husband's after marriage. It's consider a sign of non acceptance of the marriage on behalf of the girl. Lol. Such is the sad state of society. Why blame Sonam alone?

I have seen people keeping both their father and mother's maiden names 😛
And I think what Astha tried to say is that if Anand chose Sonam's name and not Kapoor, then Sonam could have chosen Anand's name and not Ahuja .i.e. Sonam Anand Kapoor 😉
And this whole arguement was because the person she quoted justified that Anand chose Sonam's name in stead because Anand is married to Sonam and not to Kapoors 😕

Come on!! Dont generalize
I am also from West Bengal and I have friends and cousins who have not changed their surname after marriage 😛

And my friends who have changed surnames are mostly who went abroad with their husbands with spouse visa 😆

Good to hear that. However they're then most probably from Upper class families ??? I'm just guessing. Because after spending 25 yrs of my life in West Bengal only I have neither seen nor heard a single instance of any girl retaining their maiden surname post marriage . Not even among the well to do or highly educated or women doing jobs etc. In fact it's considered very scandalous to retain maiden name post marriage here in Bengal.

But Sonam is also from Upper class family. If she, being from a upper class family and being a self proclaimed feminist doesn't break these rules, then how can we expect that from loeer and middle class families?
