BO wise, Kangu is not a crowd puller. I still feel she is one fine actress. But they are 2 different things. Her BO record is still is not credible!

That said, she is a pretty good actress. Her strength imo, lies in her ability to disappear into roles and imbue them with more depth than initially imagined (although this doesn't always hold). For example, in Fashion, despite being on screen for less time, her Shonali felt more real than Priyanka's character, and with more depth to her. Tanu Weds Manu Again also speaks for itself (both Tanu and Datto felt like two, actual, real different ppl).

+1. Totally agreed. Kangana is a great actress but like every hit movie needs good content (whether it be a strong story, script, screenplay etc), her acting is 'sone pe suhaaga' (icing on the cake).

She pulled off the Queen because she definitely is a good actress, and in this particular case was supplemented by a hatke story with a solid screenplay.

TMWR worked because of the (a) songs (b) interest from trailer and promos of the Datto character and how Kangana seemed so different in it and (c) sequel of success TWM. If Kangana had not convinced us that Tanu and Datto were two completely different people, it would have fallen flat (like most double-character roles do).

Katti Batti, Revolver Rani, Rajjo and now Rangoon failed because they failed in one or the other of the departments of bad story, bad screenplay, poor promotions etc. I have only seen Rangoon out of the 4 but I don't think Kangana was particularly bad in it, she tried her best but the story & the way it unfolded was poor.

She also, like you correctly mentioned, needs to work on her dialogue delivery. It is quite poor and at times I cannot understand a word of what she's saying, her accent notwithstanding.
