If R.Madhavan was a bigger star at the time of TWM, then Randeep Hooda was also a bigger star at the time of Highway as he much senior actor and had few successes to his name while Alia was just one movie old, which was a Semi-Hit.

And TM, if u r following BOI then u should know that BOI has put DZ in SRK's filmography so it's his movie. And if DZ is not an SRK movie then K&S is also not an Alia movie, as she didn't had much role in that movie and again, Sid was a bigger star at that time.

If u r talking about opening, then Alia's biggest opening in a movie in which she was the biggest star was Shandaar with 13.1 crores. Kangana is not far behind with an opening of 8.85 crores with TWMR. While shandaar also had Shahid who also some fan following and the movie had a holiday release of dussehra, but TWMR release date was during IPL, and Madhavan is no star. DZ opening is 8.75 crores, which also had SRK. K&S opening is 6.85 crores which also had sid and fawad. So in terms of opening also, both are equal.

You seem unaware of what BOI had termed for Dear Zindagi. SRK did help with opening but even BOI claims that Alia is second biggest star right after Deepika right now.

Alia's 2 States and HSKD got an opening of 12.42 and 9 Crores which also had Arjun and Varun, who were the bigger stars when these movies were released. (Varun is still a bigger star than Alia). If we include Brothers in Sid's filmography, then it also opened at 15.42 Crores but I'm not including it. Alia is a bigger star than Fawad in India, but Fawad also had some fan following. UP and BBD released after K&S, so these movies aren't relevant in the debate. Fact is, Sid was a bigger star than Alia when K&S was released. As for DZ, SRK's name added alot of brand value to the movie. Without SRK, DZ would have opened half of actual collections and it was said by indicine and not me.


But for your sake, lets believe for a moment that Alia was the biggest star in K & S and DZ. But the opening day of these movies is not something to be proud of. I'm not talking about verdicts as you also said that it's the opening which defines stardom.

DZ opening : 8.75 Crores.
K & S opening : 6.85 Crores
TWMR opening : 8.85 Crores

So Alia with the help of SRK isn't able to beat Kangana and in a movie in which she's the only crowdpuller (as according to you Sid isn't a big star and Fawad is non existent ) gets only an opening of around 6 Crores.

And I only follow BOI for box office numbers and not the shifty articles they write.

No she isn't a crowd puller. At the moment, Bollywood has only 2 crowd-pullers - Salman and Varun. SRK's Fan didn't work, Aamir's Talaash, Alia's Shandaar, Deepika's Tamasha - none of these were bad movies but the audience didn't like the concept and treatment and didn't go to watch. In comparison, look at Salman's Kick, nobody understood what was happening in that mess so people left their brains at home and went to watch Salman's action skills and Jumme ki raat. Basically, Salman (and his mini-me Varun) rule the industry and audiences.

Your argument is invalid and if you follow BOI figures you'd know the obvious but you're denying the same facts given by BOI

What consistency Alia has shown?? All her movies which got good opening had bigger star stars than her. Even in the movies, in which she was the biggest star also had actors who had good fan following except Randeep Hooda in Highway and that movie opened to 3.75 Crores. UP also had Shahid, Kareena and Diljit who have a good fanbase. Alia was bigger than them but she wasn't the sole reason for opening. The movie was even hyped with the fact that Shahid-Kareena were returning after breakup. Shandaar also had Shahid, who has a decent fan following. So Alia, first needs to give a good opening and a big grosser completely on her own and then we can talk about consistency. Kangana did it with TWMR. You can call it a fluke, but Alia is even yet to give a fluke.

And BOI also says that DCH is a poor film, that does not means that I have follow that too. I follow BOI for collections as they are more reliable than other sites, but they are not the ultimate best. They are like andhon mein kaana raja. We dont even follow everything written in Holy books. BOI is not God that whatever it will say is truth.
