Stray Reflections l An Index

Hello! I have written some short pieces on Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon over the last year or so. It may have been a while since we last saw Arnav and Khushi setting our screens alight, but my faraq for them is the hamesha wala sort, a visceral feeling that can't be defined, bas naam kaafi hai for the dhak dhaks to increase with a vengeance. This continued adoration has led to constant refrains of paagal hai from family and friends, sadly without the rider, par cute hai!

What I treasure most though are the lovely friends I have made here over the years, as we indulged in our adoration of all things IPKKND. Everything I have written has been all due to their encouragement and unstinting support. It is that which has given me the courage to put my words out there.

Here, below, are the ones I have posted on IF. In case you would like to read them on my blog, please feel free to message me. The link is also on my profile.

My First Tale:

I had written this to thank my dear friends, Jigs (Chokri_ASR) and Choti (chotidesi) both of whom are excellent authors, for a beautiful story they had penned for me, Chalte Chalte. It has a little imagination, a little reality, and a whole lot of love <3

Wistful Reflections:

Link: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/topic/4442153

This was inspired by a story Jigs was writing at that time, Revealed. It was one that touched and moved me in ways I still can't express coherently.

Mere Papad ka Tukda:

Link: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/topic/4496829

This one is about sibling love and what I envisaged of Anjali's and Arnav's childhood to be as they ran free in Sheesh Mahal. At a time when the walls didn't whisper of grief and loss.

The Kindness of Strangers:

Link: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/topic/4598189

This is about Anjali coming to terms with Shyam's duplicity. After finally accepting the truth, I see her bottling up her tears, only allowing a few to seep out in private after the initial shock had subsided. But, bottled up grief tends to find its own way out, and not always when we're ready for it.

For The Love of a Man:

Link: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/topic/4699897

This is about Khushi fangirling over Barun Sobti and desperate to go see his first film on the big screen, with her Laad Governor husband  ever ready to indulge her.

A Birthday Tale:

Blog only

Khushi wants to celebrate the birthday of a dear friend and gets in a right tizz while making sure everything is exactly how she would like it to be. Her adoring husband right there to calm her and to help her in her quest.

Poignant Reflections:

Blog only

This is about Arnav and Khushi as parents of the bride. Their fears and hopes and wishes for their daughter as she embraces new relations and sets forth on her own journey.

A Moment out of Time: When I met Barun Sobti

Blog only

This is about the surreal time when I met Barun Sobti at the premiere of his film, Tu Hai Mera Sunday, in London. And had it reaffirmed to me why he deserves every bit of the adoration we have for him.

A Summer's Day:

Link: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/topic/4838488

I wrote this based on a word prompt. Trees, Silence, Hypnotise. The verdant hues of summer gladden the heart, shouldn't they?

Memories:

Blog only

Memories are such strange companions, aren’t they? The ones we yearn to envelop ourselves in are always somehow just beyond our grasp. Yet the ones we seek to suppress seem to spring up uninvited, catching us unaware.

Happy Birthday Jignasha! :

Blog only

A three year old Khushi captures the hearts of the inhabitants of Shantivan... all except one! Do the passing years change that a little? And what happens when Khushi's parents decide to fix her marriage to a suitor of their choice.

Khayal:

Blog only

Khushi and Payal...The sisters shared a beautiful relationship. This is a small glimpse of Payal's life after she moves to the States, as she reflects on her sister.

To Jignasha, With love:

Blog only

Madhumati’s character has been an interesting one. She tended to rush headlong into situations with her heart leading the way. Shades of Khushi I felt. Her larger than life persona was fierce in the protection of her loved ones. I loved the bond of mutual respect she shared with Arnav. So, I thought I’d try and look into her life a little.

Iss Ajeeb Khwaab Ko Kya Naam Doon:

A slightly, okay very!, ajeeb look at Shyamji and the feelings of love that govern his actions ;)

Forever:

This drabble came about when I was wondering what would happen if Arnav did die after being shot in the show. My feelings about Hamesha.

A Basket Full Of Love:

Blog only

Arnav is a celebrated basket ball player and Khushi a crazy fan. The jury is still out whether it's basket ball or Arnav who inspired the passion! Written for a dear friend who's basket ball crazy.

When Ek Jashn was announced, giddy with excitement, a few of us went a bit paagal on Twitter and decided to write a few OSs between us. As an ode to the return of this epic jodi, Arnav and Khushi hamesha. This was Jigs and my contribution to kick off the Jashn.

Ruchi, my love, how can one not leave a few words for a kind, sweet soul like you. You bring such warmth to anyone that you touch. And that in itself speaks in your reflections on life. I have been honored to read, as well as witness. The world needs more souls like you that gives all that one has, that too, unconditionally. I am blessed to have you in my life, not just today, but hamesha.

You make me happy, you make me feel loved, and that was before I even met you. I will always cherish your words, be it as comments on my stories or others, your captivating writing, our obsession for the show and FF that has united us, hours of texting, not to mention chatting on the phone! But most of all... you!

Here's wishing you all the best on your writing endeavors and may the ink in your pen never dry.

Yours always,
Jigs

I need to be in this thread so I can catch up on everything I've missed during the past year! I'll get to reading all of these soon enough.. (After my exams, hopefully - provided I don't get too distracted lol)
Can't wait!! 😃
