As for people preferring a "better" movie over the holiday period..lol! I'm guessing Christmas isn't just celebrated in India and considering the overseas business of Dilwale in many countries where it was directly clashing with not just BM but Starwars too should tell you what people preferred there. So like I said let's not generalize as there's data out there that contradicts what you just stated.

"Chotu" states like Banaras and Mangalore..lol! It didn't get a full release in Gujrat, MP, Rajasthan and Maharashtra! So many of it's shows were cancelled in other states too so from no angle was the protest just restricted to Mangalore and Banaras. In Mangalore it wasn't just banned for a few days! It wasn't allowed to run for three whole weeks or so and the cops only took it up when a woman filed an FIR. All of this stuff is out there on google but rationale obviously is not at play here..lol.

Hilarious to see some people talking about delusion..lol! The movie has crossed PRDP which was a solo release. I mean so much for a dud...right! :p Someone mentioned a few Shahrukh movies on the last page, I think they forgot CE or maybe that was deliberate for obvious reasons...lol!

Um...did anyone of us claim Dilwale was a "masterpiece"...lol! We know it underperformed in India just like Rohit does. At the same time to say we are giving excuses...lol! Say that to the protestors who chose to vandalize, disrupt shows. Say that to the theater owners who were forced to cancel 800 or more shows during the first weekend. I mean for God's sake ticket prices being higher have been cited as an example here for why a certain movie did better but protests and boycott calls apparently are "excuses.". Bravo on that rationale. And that wasn't aimed at you but rather the general mentality I have seen on PV and here to some extent.
