demanding respect: Rakhi Sawant is certainly not a favourite among Bigg Boss housemates and has already been evicted once file pic

Inspired by Shilpa Shetty, at least 1,200 Rakhi Sawant fans have filed an online petition against Sony Television, protesting Rakhi's character assassination by co-contestants in the Bigg Boss house.
Carol Gracias, Ravi Kissen and the now-ousted Amit Sadh have come under flak for abusing Sawant.
Earlier, UK media regulator Ofcom had received more than 40,000 complaints over the alleged racist attack against Shilpa Shetty by housemate Jade Goody on the British reality show, Celebrity Big Brother, aired by Channel 4.
The petition, filed on petitiononline.com, says the broadcaster, Sony, has edited parts in which Carol called Rakhi 'illiterate' and 'a slut'. The petition also states Sawant has been subjected to offensive comments from Amit, Ravi and Rahul Roy.
However, Sandeep Sickand, creative head of Sony, said he was not aware of any such petition. "It is an assumption that the edited material is against Rakhi Sawant. If we receive any such petition, our legal department will handle it," he said.
US-based website
The US-based website was created by an Indian, Diwya Shetty, last week. There are also references to Celebrity Big Brother, with respondents feeling a public uproar on this issue is equally justified.
Last Thursday, Rakhi was socially ostracised after all the housemates confronted her on the things she had said about them prior to her first eviction. Carol even offered to present Rakhi a pair of sharpening knives after Rakhi said she was contemplating suicide. Rakhi's mother had to step in and ask the channel to save her daughter from the rudeness of her housemates.
Abhishek Awasthi, Rakhi's fianc, told MiD DAY he had not seen the show for a long time and was not aware what was happening on it. "But if the fans have complained, there may be some truth in it," he said.

The shocking elimination of Rakhi Sawant Bad news for Rakhi Sawant's fans. The gutsy girl has been evicted from the house. As informed earlier, a surprise elimination was about to take place in the house on Wednesday. But the housemates were clueless about it. Naturally, the eviction came as a shock for the contestants. Especially for Rakhi, who was seen as a hot favourite.

The latest task given to the housemates was quite hilarious. It is called 'role reversal'. The men in the house have to behave like the women and the women like the men. It was funny to see Rahul and Ravi clad in sari, wearing jewellery and behaving like women. Rahul, in fact, was looking quite pretty. Carol and Rakhi wore men's attire and false beards. They had to continue with their daily chores in this their new avtar.

gg Boss Day 81: Kashmera vanishes from the house
At 8:45 pm Bigg boss called Kashmera to the confession room and told her that it's her time to leave the house. Kashmera had tears in her eyes. Bigg boss gave her a task so that she could make her exit with ease. Firstly, she picked up her stuff in a white bag and kept it aside. Then she went outside and hugged Rakhi and Carol (the girls were clueless about why Kash got so generous all of a sudden). Then she told the housemates about this new task. It is the game of 'statue'. Ravi looked enthusiatic and ordered everybody to be statue. While they stood still, kept on making everybody laugh. Next, it was Kashmera. She made everybody stand still and went away saying she was going to the toilet. Ten minutes had passed there was no trace of Kashmera. The housemates were worried, and kept wondering what happened to her. Rakhi exclaimed, 'I think Kash has left, she had hugged me before leaving.' Everybody started looking for her. But she was nowhere to be found. Fighting hard for sleep: It was Day 81. In the morning, contestants were trying hard to keep themselves awake. According to this new task 'Jaago sone walon' they can sleep only for 10 hours. Ravi and Rakhi were awake all night and they finally got the chance to sleep in the morning. When it was the time to wake up Rakhi requested Ravi to give her his share of 20 minutes of sleep. She was finding it difficult to keep awake. Finally they end up sleeping for more than the allocated time. An eggy task: They had failed in the previous task Jaago sone waalon. Ravi and Rahul blamed Rakhi and Kashmera for the failure. Next, Bigg boss gave them another task. This one's called 'Ande man ke sachche'. They have to take care of eggs given to them. They'll have to look after them as if they're their own kids. A weird but tough task, as eggs are quite fragile and tough to handle. Bachche man ke kachche: Everybody started behaving like kids with the eggs. Rakhi called her egg Pinky - a daughter who will be like her in the future. Carol named her egg Nayantara. She wants Nayantara to grow up to be a business woman and not a model. Ravi's son is named Yodha and everybody is keen to get their daughters married to him. Kashmera's daughter's err...egg's name is Isis. Prizes for the winning egg-heads: The egg task was fun but the housemates were unable to sleep as they were afraid of dropping the egg. Thankfully they did manage to keep their eggs intact till the end of the task. Later Bigg Boss announced that everybody had succeeded in the task except for Carol. She had gone to the toilet leaving her egg alone, while she could have asked someone to hold it for her. Anyways, he called the triumphant contestants - Rakhi, Rahul and Ravi in the confession room and rewarded them for their success. To Rakhi's surprise it was a beautiful Bigg Boss mug. She was excited to realise that the show was so popular that even Bigg Boss mugs are available now.

Kashmera's exit shocked everybody: Rakhi began crying as she realised that Kash had left. She sat near the door of the secret room and kept on blabbering: 'I know you're watching TV inside.' Carol came and consoled her. Rahul admitted that Kashmera made a fanastic entry and exit in the house. Everybody missed her and a day full of ups and downs came to an end.

Aryan, Anupama: No more telly romance for us
By: Tushar Joshi
January 24, 2007

Aryan Vaid and Anupama Varma in Bigg Boss
Preparations are underway for the finale episode of Bigg Boss on the show's Karjat sets.

Sony entertainment television will air a special two-hour episode on Saturday, announcing the proud winner of Rs 50 lakh.

The channel is in talks with all the previous contestants to come together for a finale performance with Arshad Warsi.

However, buzz is that two of the evicted inmates — Bobby Darling and Aryan Vaid — have conveyed their unavailability for the same to the channel.

Show me the money

Bobby Darling
When asked about this, Bobby says, "I don't want to go for the show. Why should I when I have been treated so badly during my eviction? I think I deserved a fair chance, which the channel never gave me."

However, Bobby is ready to perform in the finale if she is paid a reasonable amount. "They have asked me to give them three days for rehearsals, but why should I waste my time when I can make money from other shows? If they pay me good money, I am ready to go."
It is believed that Aryan too wants to stay away from anything to do with Bigg Boss. A close friend reveals, "He is totally put off by his experience on the show. In fact, he asks his parents to change the channel if they are watching Bigg Boss. He is in no mood to come face to face with the entire gang."

When contacted, the actor diplomatically says, "I am not sure. I still have to make my mind up."

Mush no more

It is believed that Aryan might not attend the show because the channel has asked him to perform with Anupama Verma, which both of them have outrightly refused. While Vaid refuses to confirm, Anupama says, "Yes, they did want us to do an act, but we really didn't want to."

Unaware of what she will be doing, Verma says, "I haven't received any details about my performance. But from what I know, it's a group song where all of us will perform with Arshad."

She also adds that most of the contestants have stated they wouldn't be doing any solo acts. "I think everyone has made that clear. It will be interesting to meet the group though."

Final masala

Bigg Boss will be evicting one more inmate tonight. Out of the four remaining contestants, one will leave the house. The housemates are completely unaware of this surprise eviction as didn't know they were up for eviction. The grand finale will be a two-hour long episode telecast from 9 to 11 pm.

No more nautanki

Rahul Roy and Carol Gracias were the front-runners to be evicted from Bigg Boss's house yesterday, so Rakhi Sawant's second ouster came as a real surprise to us! Needless to say, we're going to miss all her nautanki and 'I won't suicide' quotables on the final day.

Sigh! Does this mean Ravi Kissen will take home the Rs 50 lakh booty? Lillah, maar daala!

Who'll survive in the Bigg Boss's den?

The climax is inching forwards. With two more days to go for the grand finale of Sony's voyeuristic reality show - Bigg Boss, speculations are simmering about who'll win the coveted prize money of 50 lakhs. With only three contestants: Carol, Ravi and Rahul to compete, the show promises loads of drama along with the ousted members too being roped in for the D day.

So being party to the speculations, we try putting all the three in-house members under our scanner. Let's start with Bihar's shaan, Ravi Kishen. He is one man who has braved the show with his much famous politicking. Not only has he kept the show alive with his ishtyle and bindaas attitude, but also provided the humour element in abundance with his trademark repartees. But ex-inmate (and ex-pal if we may say) Rupali Ganguly differs by saying, "Though I don't like Ravi a lot, but I must admit that he has been a consistent player on the show. I pray he doesn't win since Carol deserves it better than him." Isn't she talking about the same Ravi whom she had voiced as her only friend before entering the Bigg Boss' den?

Rahul Roy with his characteristic calmness has earned the nickname of 'baba'. Like a sage, he maintains a dignified silence in the face of turmoil. But his chances of winning the title are extremely low as he isn't very popular with the masses unlike Ravi. This is our say, but his friend Aryan Vaid puts these kind words for him, "I think its Rahul Roy who will win since he has been the least controversial of the lot."

Carol Gracias is the other strong contender for the title. Adds Rupali Ganguly, "I am confident about Carol emerging as a winner. All through her stay she has been fair and forgiven people for their trespasses. I think she deserves to win the title." (In the name of friendship, huh!)

Along with Rupali, Carol also has Rakhi Sawant's support who got evicted last night from the show. She says, "Carol should win the game as there has not been a single day when she has not cooked or cleaned the house. So, what if she is not my friend." (Right said Rakhi )

While the grand finale will witness the winner walk away with the envied prize money, others will not go home disappointed either. Their popularity on the show has earned them enough offers to keep them busy, as the recently ousted Rakhi Sawant commented on the show, "It's ok if I have lost in lakhs, now I'll earn in crores."

As for the grand finale, all the other contestants will get together to give a memorable round up on the show. Baba Sehgal is ready with a hilarious spoof on his fellow inmates. Aryan Vaid promises to give a rocking performance minus Anupama (tch..tch, spoil sport). Kashmira Shah has sneaked away to rehearse for her item number. Cry baby Rupali too will gyrate onstage (after all it was Rakhi who had once trained her on BB). So can the original item girl be far behind? Of course Rakhi is all set to burn the stage with her trademark oomph! But the real show stopper will definitely be the performance by love struck Amit Sadh and his lady love Neeru Bajwa.

So, let's see whose bets come true. The wait is not long now. With the trio all geared up for the big event and the performances waiting to happen, we hope that the show will not have its audience yawning this time at least.

miss you baby: Rakhi Sawant bids goodbye to Bigg Boss housemates Ravi, Carol and Rahul
Prior to her surprise eviction last night, Rakhi seemed to have had some trouble getting used to the quieter ways of the other residents in the house, reports Sowmya Rajaram.
So she vented her frustration by shouting at everyone for being so boring. Carol, she said, is monosyllabic, while Rahul, according to her (and us) does not talk or dance. Well, all we wanted to tell her was give it a rest, Rakhi. Not everyone is an item girl!
That apart, the house wears a sombre look today. The news of Rakhi's eviction has taken everyone by surprise, and they're left open mouthed at the new tricks Bigg Boss seems to be coming up with.
But we think Ms Sawant's entry-exit-re-entry and exit did make for good viewing!
Rakhi's sudden eviction has changed the goodwill and cheer over the prospect of finishing the game and leaving for home that was looming large over the participants for the past few days. It has left everyone stumped and they all roam around the house looking rather deflated and depressed. Why so much sudden sympathy, though, for the girl they had all ostracised not so long ago?
Well, now that drama queen is out, we wonder who is going to carry the burden of entertaining the viewers. We miss your antics already, Rakhi.

Bigg Boss Day 82: Bad luck, Rakhi!
Rakhi is eliminated in the surprise eviction round. Quite a shocking news for her fans as she was a hot favourite for the grand finale. But kya kare? The audience only decided her fate. Maybe they couldn't bear the torture she was going through. Last week has been quite a struggle for the girl. Kashmera came into the house as a guest and made her life miserable. She turned everybody against her. All the other contestants has stopped speaking to her. The girl bravely confronted them and made her stand clear. We'll miss the gutsy girl. Housemates were shocked at the sudden eviction. On Day 82, the contestants were totally clueless about the surprise eviction and looked quite jovial in the morning. Rakhi was sitting in the pink room talking to her doll, 'Hum ghar jayenge, kab jayenge?' The poor girl was unaware that she would have to leave the house in a few hours. In the afternoon, Bigg boss called everybody in the drawing room. The housemates were wondering why, as Arshad usually shows up on Fridays. They were more suspicious when Arshad told them that this is a special episode and started chatting with them. Finally he told them that one of the contestants will be evicted today and asked them to pack their bags immediately. Everybody ran into their respective bedrooms and packed their stuff in a jiffy. Poor Rakhi went on looking for her lucky black dress, which she could never find. Rakhi is a winner in true sense: Arshad scared Rahul out of his seat, when he asked him to pack his bags fast. His next target was Carol. He told everybody to comment on how Carol has been in the house. The poor girl looked pale as she listened to others praising her. We could clearly see how tense the environment was. Ravi said Carol is a bhartiya nari in true sense! Rahul said that she is very different from usual supermodels.Even Rakhi said that she likes Carol. In the end, Arshad declared, 'Rakhi aa jao!' The poor girl was so shocked she didn't move for a few seconds. Next, she hugged everybody one by one. When Bigg Boss announced that she was taking too much time, she started crying. She went around the house kissing the walls, the polls and the glasses, saying 'I love you Bigg Boss.' Finally Rakhi left the house and danced her way to the stage. Rakhi said she likes everybody except Rahul: Rakhi was on the stage once again. Arshad asked her if she liked the house the first time or the second time. She surprisingly answered that she enjoyed her first stint as initially, they didn't care much about winning. She was relaxed and happy in the beginning. The second time, everybody was competitive and was playing the hard game. When asked about her favorite housemate she said she liked everybody except for Rahul Roy. She thanked Bigg Boss as the show has really scaled up her career, and now from an item girl she has turned into a heroine and is getting many film offers. Bigg Boss house has changed her life.

Introducing Mrs Shulka and Mrs Kapoor: This was the most hilarious task ever. It is called 'adla badli'. The housemates had to reverse their roles in the house. Ravi and Rahul had to dress up as women and Carol and Rakhi had to dress up as men. Quite funny. Rahul wore a yellow sari complete with bindi and jewelleries. He was called Mrs. Kapoor. While Ravi wore a while sari and called himself Mrs. Shulka. Carol and Rakhi wore beard and behaved like men. Rakhi and Carol couldn't stop laughing when Mrs. Shukla and Kapoor started dancing to 'Patli kamar matkake' and 'Choli ke peeche kya hain'. Overall, quite an exciting day.

Out again!

Rakhi Sawant has been evicted from Bigg Boss house for the second time

Back to Section Stories

Kunal M Shah

Boo who? Rakhi Sawant
Rakhi Sawant is unhappy after being evicted from Bigg Boss house just three days before the grand finale. Rakhi says, "I am heart-broken. This time I wanted to be there till the end. But I couldn't. I have always been good to everyone and am really surprised at my ouster."

Rakhi adds, "I personally feel Carol should win the game as she has done a lot for everyone in the house. There has not been a single day when she has not cooked or cleaned the house. So, what if she is not my friend?"

Talking about Rupali and Amit Sadh she says, "I hate Rupali. She is a dramebaaz, who knows her job well. I have had my share of problem with everyone but I was never rude to others. I don't think anyone holds a grudge against me. It is Kashmira who has come back in the show with a vengeance. As far as Amit is concerned, I like him. He is often misunderstood because of his aggressive nature, but I am fond of him."

Speaking about her boyfriend Abhishek, she says, "We have never gone out on a date so far. I will get married to him probably after 2-3 years. I have recently bought my dream house and from tomorrow, I will start shopping for the interiors."

Is it true that she asked her mother to leave her house? "It is not that I asked her to pack her bags and leave. I am shifting to my own house soon and I want to stay alone henceforth. My mom can come to my place whenever she wants to and so can my brother and sister-in-law. Next, I want to follow in Shilpa Shetty's footsteps and go for the Big Brother. I hope he is listening."
