Lets be honest here...Punjabi is not that close lang to Hindi...Non punjabis do not understand all the lyrics, wordings, meaning or emotions of the song..They mostly like the tune and how it sounds more so enjoy it..

Just b/c someone knows hindi and watches bollywood does not mean they can understand punjabi...

This is from my own personal experience..

Although I am not complaining abt Kamal or his singing...He is one of my favorite too..

a lil off the topic...but i read here that alka ji commented on abhilasha's weight??! really?? i missed that :S

if this is tru, i am quite surprised. firstly, she should not have done that because it could have shook the contestants confidence and cost her votes too and secondly, she claims to have known and liked abhilasha...so, why would she put her down like that?

sigh. you only see such things in reality shows. like how abhijeet da made the comment about kamal singing UNFAK's song better than any pakistani singer on any indian reality show. that was uncalled for.

Yes Alka did make comment abt Abhilasha's weight and that is not her first time doing so...She has done to few before in past 5 yrs..She should look at herself in the mirror b4 speaking...She was chubby at one time too...

Not good for young ladies or teenager to hear abt their wt on natl tv...it breaks their self image, confidence and esteem..Alka needs to learn that professionalism

i agree with you. i also do not understand the hardcore punjabi like how it is in the punjabi movies.

however, the punjabi used in bollywood films, or lets say a majority of bollywood films is pretty simple. not like the punjabi spoken in amritsar or even the UK - where the punjabi spoken is hardcore (please see if you can get 'hasdi hasdi' by punjabi hit squad to see what i mean). thats why i feel that there is nought wrong in letting kamaal sing punjabi based songs..he has to afterall sing in bollywood (well, its his choice really, if he wants to or not) and mayb this is his forte and that he is comfortable with the language, so why not let him?

each one will be singing in their mother tongue coz they feel comfortable....bishak in bengali ..abhi in tamil and so on and so forth.one or two songs is fine but not all as we can't follow.I like kamal but can't enjoy the songs.It is not his mistake but zee

i was not pleased with her...since lil champs she has been criticising female contestants. it gives the impression that she doesnt want competition coz mayb sa re ga ma (or such music based shows) made way for shreya ghoshal - who may be alka ji's toughest competitor. i miss kavita ji in such moments...i wonder why they never approach her to judge.
