What is your opinion on this new 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara"?😳

IMO, its one of the most shoddily piece put together🤢. Body without soul, the new 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara"..replete with fakeness, razmataz:-( Not to forget the song is painfully long and drag!!

India does NOT only comprise of glamorous people in Bollywood. Havne t we already had enough of Bacchans, Shilpa, the Khans?? They totally excluded the sportsmen👏

The older Mile sur had the "spirit of national integration", it still brings back tears in my eyes every time I hear it! This new one screams of Bollywood!! This shows how our vision has changed in these 20 years.

Hell, where is the Northeast?

In conclusion, the video seriously, needs some editing (shorter is sweeter)...It did feel weird to hear Abhishek's playback, Sonali Kulkarni could not replace Tanuja, BamBam bhole version of mile sur and Sonu Nigam almost broke my heart...and a knee jerk reaction was I don't like it! But often like is a matter of what you are used to.

EDIT:- When I saw it one more time, I saw an India making use of solar energy, encompassing NRIs, respecting disability, acknowledging lesser known artforms like sand-sculptures, reconstructing after terrorism, encouraging sports other than cricket. This is not the song I am used to, but it will grow eventually coz it still has the same message with newer values- agreeable values and debatable values (ref: Deepika!), and we like it or not that is what India is today. It is true representation of India today... Maybe if I give it more 12 years and a newer version 'Again met sur mera tumhara' comes up, I will crave for 'Phir mile sur mera tumhara'😛

Meenzy, Ek sur" (One Tune)or "Mile Sur Mera Tumhara" as it is better known, is an Indian song and accompanying video focusing on national integration and unity.
This video was aired for the first time in 1988 on Doordarshan. Perhaps, only an Indian would really understand the sentiments behind this song😊

Anyways, The song was re-recorded, and telecast again on January 26, 2010. The lyrics were same but the order of the appearance of languages changed. The song featured musicians, singers, sports persons, film stars from the current generation. The new version is more like a Bollywood song featuring prominent Bollywood actors. It looks more like a Bollywood integration than national integration. It also features some sportsmen, but surprisingly not a single cricketer or hockey player. The tune has also been tinkered with and doesn't quite captivate the listener like its original version. This version also includes the song rendered in sign language. The current version (little over 16 minutes) runs longer than the older version (little over 5 minutes).

I know right. Showing stupid people like Ranbir Kapoor......must have bribed his way into it. The whole thing is so lame...it does not represent the integrity of India. Shahid Kapoor🤢. They didn't show Dhanraj Pillay, Sachin Tendulkar etc.. They didn't show Jharkhand, Bihar, The North-East, J&K, Gujrat etc.. The highlight was that they didn't show Lalu😆 I can imagine him coming and saying "E desh hamara bhi hai. babua"😆 Sure, they did show some very important people who have brought pride to India like Zakir Hussain, Sonu Nigam, Bhupen Hazarika etc.., but they overlooked some very important people. All in all, the entire thing sucked👎🏼

Whats withe the Bacchan;s invading the small screen now then Aamir's rap ???😲

They did show Gujarat..Parthiv Gohil was singing the Gujrati tune!

Lol..@ Lalu, Mayavati!! Sure, AR Rahman, Zakir Husain (who was there even in the older version), Bhupen Hazarika, Anushka Shankar, Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma all deserve the place, but certainly not Deepika, Ranbir, Salman, PRiyanka chopra, Abhishek Bacchan! Ugh!!

But what about the Seven Sisters and Jharkhand etc... Even they showed a small part of Orissa. I guess they showed these actors to symbolize youth, but failed to do so. That's not a good example of how our youth is. Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachan actually deserve to be on there, but not Abhishek and his wife, Ashwariya. Aamir and Amitabh have helped shape the future of India. Also they didn't show social activists and politicians like Rahul Gandhi, Kiran Bedi, Sushma Swaraj etc.. And they should have shown Omar Abdullah for the Kashmir part.
When Big B entered, I was half-expecting Amar Singh to rush into the scene and say Mera Bharat Mahan or something and then Big B would look at him with an irritated look as if he's gonna slap him off-stage.😆😆 Have you seen how he tails the Bachhans? I wonder how they stand him?
