Jan 22 (Tues):

Continued from yesterday - Jothi's SIL, Bakiam starts to say that it is not right for her rother to leave their home for a third person but Jothi shuts her up and calls Kasthuri and asks her to take Jayanthi inside. Just then Masil and Bharath return and Masil is happy to see his daughter. Bakiam runs to him crying and asks the same thing. Masil is irritated and tells her to shut up and says that they are not leaving because they are sufering but to seek better life. He then tells Kasthuri that they have found a nice house and office in Chennai, Kasthuri is very happy. Bakiam then asks her brother what he is doing about the house and property and Masil tells her that he will fold everything and take it with him. Bakiam just stares at him. Masil then tells his wife and Kasthuri that Bharath and Ganesh help him with everything. The phone rings and Masil answers the call from Ganesh who asks if he has returned safely. Ganesh then asks to speak with Kasthuri and tells her that he is very proud of her. He also tells Kasthuri that when she opens her business he will become her PA and help her but Kasthuri tells him that he will be the MD and ends the call. Kasthuri goes to Bharath and thanks him for everything. Masil tells Bharath to stay for lunch but he declines saying he has to go and leaves. Bakiam then cries about Masil's fate - his son has been disowned and now Masil has to call outsiders as his sons. Masil gets angry and tells her to shut up and go inside.

Masil is getting vathalai and his sister goes to him and talks bad about others. Masil asks what she wants and not to beat around the bush. Bakiam asks what he will be doing about the house, land and farm. Masil asks why she wants to know. Masil then tells her that he has someone trustworthy in his mind. Bakiam asks if it is her son but Masil says no. Bakiam asks why not leave it to her son but Masil says that her son is a good for nothing man who does not know how to do business. Bakiam says her son has lost in business because of his bad time but Masil says that it is not her son's bad time but his because he is the one who had given the money. Bakiam insists to know who it is an Masil tells her it is Vishu and Bakiam says why he trust his friend more than his SIL and Masil tells her that only friends will help with no expectations but relatives will try to destroy them. He then calls Kasthuri and asks her to take Bakiam in and give her something to eat. When Kasthuri invites Bakiam in, she is very rude Kasthuri saying that she was born and grew up in the house and will eat herself when she is hungry but Kasthuri is new there and to mind her own business and walks away in a huff. Kasthuri then tells her FIL not to be harsh with his sister because relationships will be ruined but Masil tells her that he is not worried about that.

Kasthuri is at the back washing and Jayanthi walks to her and tells her that her father had made a good decision to leave everything under Vishu's care. If he had leftit to her husband, everything will be lost because her MIL is very greedy. Kasthuri asks if they will ill treat her and Jayanthi says that they wil torture her with words but she is used to it and Kasthuri should not worry about it. Bakiam comes there and shouts at Jayanthi asking what she is doing talking to Kasthuri when her life itself is shaky. She pushes Jayanti telling her to get ready to leave. Bakiam then turns to Kasthuri and tells her to enjoy her brother's wealth but warns that all the wealth should go to her son, otherwise Jayanthi's life will be made miserable and leaves.

Masil is ready to leave somewhere and Kasthuri tells him she is also ready. Masil calls Jothi and tells her that he and Kasthuri are visiting Vishu and will be back later and they can leave to Chennai that ebvening. Jothi wants to follow but Masil tells her to pack their things. Jothi tells him that everything is ready and wants to follow them to visit Vishu as she is unsure when they will come back again. Kasthuri tells her FIL to take Jothi along and they are about to walk out when Vishu comes in. Masil is surprised to see his friend and Vishu asks where they are going to. Masil tells him they were leaving to visit him and they sit down to talk. Vishu tells Masil that he had attended a wedding and dropped by to spend time with Masil and family. Kasthuri goes in to bring coffee for her father and Jothi goes in to prepare food. Masil then tells Vishu about them leaving to Chennai and that he is starting a computer business for Kasthuri. He tells Vishu that Annamalai also has a computer business and wants Kashturi to be better. He asks Vishu for a favor and Vishu tells him he will do anything for Masil even to the extend of giving his life. Masil tells him that Vishu should live to see Kasthuri succeed in business. Vishu is happy to hear this. THODARUM.

Jan 23 (Wed):

Continued from yesterday - Masil asks Vishu to take care of his home and farm. At first Vishu declines, saying that it is not right because Masil's SIL is there and he should be given the task. Masil tells Vishu that he needs a trustworthy person and it is Vishu. Vishu gets emotional and stands up, making Masil worried. Masil asks what is wrong and Vishu tells him that these days it has become common for FILs to even kill their DILs for dowry but Masil has adopted Kasthuri as his own daughter and is even leaving his home for the sake of her. He compares Masil to a saint and says thank you. Masil tells Kasthuri to prepare food so that they can have lunch together.

Kasthuri, Jothi, Bharath and Masil want to know what lays in Kasthuri's future from a priest. The priest says that Kasthuri's future would be very brights and everything she touches will turn to gold (MIDAS TOUCH THAAN 😆 ). The priest also says that severed relationships with be united. Jothi is happy to hear this but Masil looks irritated. Masil thanks the priest and after he leaves, he tells Jothi that they should take Kasthuri to visit her family before the leave and get ready. As usual, Vishu comes to his house and Masil is surprised. Kasthuri tells her father that they were just getting ready to visit him. Vishu tells Masil that it is because of true friendship that he can feel his friend's thoughts, a bond that will always be there. Masil asks what Vishu has decided about taking care of his home. Vishu says he has not decided but Kasthuri tells him to say yes and finally Vishu agrees. Masil is very happy and calls Jothi to bring coffee. Masil asks Vishu to follow them to Chennai and he says ok.

Ganesh is on the phone when his door bell rings. He opens it and is surprised to see the the whole clan there. He is most surprise to see the change in Kasthuri and just looks at her. Masil tells him to stop looking at Kasthuri and to invite them in. Ganesh takes them in and Masil tells him that they have come there with a lot of hope. Although he is confident, he is a little scared. Ganesh tells him not to worry because everything will be okay. Ganesh then tells Masil that he has not kept his word about getting a job at Kasthuri's company. Masil says when the office is opened, he will get the job. Masil then tells Ganesh to get ready to do prayers at the new house. Ganesh tells them to freshen up while he gets breakfast.

Everyone is having coffee, Ganesh walks in and says everything is ready for prayers the next morning. Masil says thanks for the breakfast and says that he will go with Bharath to the new house. Jothi tells Masil that she wants to take Ganesh to the temple. At first Masil tells her that he needs Ganesh but Jothi insists. Jothi and Ganesh at temple praying. Annamalai and Radha come to the same temple. Radha buys some flowers and walks into the temple but is stopped by a friend. She does ot see Jothi there. Jothi and Ganesh finish praying and walk away, Radha goes to the priest and asks to do archanai in her Rekha's name. Ganesh and Jothi are going around the temple - still have not met Radha. Now Radha walks around the temple. Jothi and Ganesh leave the temple, Radha takes prasadham fron the priest and turns and see Jothi and Ganesh getting into an auto and is shocked. THODARUM

Jan 24 (Thurs):

Radha watches Ganesh and Jothi talking to the Auto driver and getting into it. She calls out for Jothi but is not heard as the Auto drives away. Radha has a worried look on her face thinking what Jothi is doing in town.

Ram in his office looking at files and he reminices about Rekha's friend talking to him about a loan and later the thrashing by Rekha. Ram is stressed out and walks up and down (sorry! left to right and back). He then walks to Annamalai's office. Annamalai is ont he phone talking to a client. Annamalai tells Ram to meet a client to discuss some business but Annamalai tells him that he has some work outside an needs to take care of it. Annamalai tells him it is okay as he will change the appointment to the next day. Ram tells his FIL why change the appointment, just ask Rekha to meet the client because Rekha is more intelligent and knows more about the business then he does and goes out. Annamalai wonders what is wrong with his SIL and goes to Rekha's office and asks her if everything is alright with her and Ram. Rekha asks why and her father tells him about Ram's words and says maybe Ram is still upset about the incident concerning her friend. Rekha is surprised and tells her father that she had apologized to Ram about the matter many times and felt that everything is okay. Annamalai tells Rekha to avoid unnecessary problems with Ram at work or home and to leave him to do his job without any interference. Rekha tells her father that she too has decided not to pry into Ram's work in the office.

Masil and his clan are preparing for the prayers at the new house. The priest is seated and ladies get everything ready. Kasthuri looks really beautiful in her grean and orange patu saree. When everything is ready, priest asks Kasthuri to sit down for the ceremony. Masil too asks her to sit. When Kasthuri is seated, the priest turns to the back, looks at Bharath and Ganesh and tells one of them to come sit with Kasthuri. Masil tells the priest that Kasthuri is is DIL and Jothi tells him that their son is not with them. Priest apologizes for his mistake and says that a couple should sit for the prayers. Kasthuri gets up and tells both her in-laws to sit and do the prayers. Jothi gets upset and refuses but agrees when Vishu, Kasthuri and the other tells her. Prayers are done and the prist asks for Kasthuri's name and tell them that the name is devine and everything they undertake hereafter will be asuccessfull and blesses everyone. Masil is very happy to hear this.

Radha is sitting in her living and thinking why Jothi is with Ganesh and what is going on. Annamalai and Rekha return from the office and Radha asks why only the two of them are coming home without Ram. Annamalai asks why she is asking for Ram and Radha tells him about seeing Jothi and Ganesh at the temple. Rekha is shocked but Annamalai tells Radha she should have been mistaken someone else for Jothi Radha tells them that she is very sure. Annmalai asks why she worries about Jothi being there and Radha says that maybe she is there to meet Ram. Annamalai tells her why can't Ram meet his mother. Radha says she is worried that Jothi will meet Ram and take him away. Even Rekha looks angry
and tells them she will find out. Ram walks in and Rekha stops him and asks where he had gone. Ram keeps quiet and Rekha rudely asks him again but Ram tells them off by saying that it is not their office for him to answer their questions. This is the house and no one has the right to ask him about anything and what he does is his personal affair and walks off leaving the three of them totally shocked.

Jothi is in Ganesh's house and they are talking about going shopping to buy stuff for the new house. Ganesh serves her coffee and tells her that he will shower andbe out in a few minutes leaving Jothi to have her coffee. The door bell rings and Jothi calls Ganesh to open the door. Ganesh looks through the curtains and sees Radha. He tells Jothi that Radha is outside and asks if he should open the door and invite her. Jothi tells him to open the door and see what she wants while she waits inside because if Radha sees her there there would surely be problems. Ganehs opens the door and invites Radha in. Radha asks if Ganesh went to the temple that morning and he says yes. Radha about the lady who was with him. Ganesh stammers and finally says she is his friend's mother, Rajalakshmi. As his friend was busy, he had taken her to them temple. Radha then asks to meet Rajalakshmi. Jothi in the room listening is worried. THODARUM

Jan 25 (Fri):

Ganesh somehow convinces Radha that it is not Jothi she saw with him. Radha leaves but is still in doubt. Ganesh goes inside and sees Joti crying. Jthi tells him about how close she was with Jothi and how circumstances have changed and they are now scared to face each other. Ganesh tells her that it will be all right in the fuure and tells her that they have to go shopping.

Annamalai is in his house waiting for Radha. Radha walks in and he asks her if she had the Jothi tharishanan she wanted. Radha tells her about Ganesh saying that the lady is not Jothi but some other lady. She tells her husband that she thinks that Ganesh is hiding the fact the Jothi is in town. Annamalai says why should they worry if she is in town as it has nothing to do with them. Radha says that she is worried that Ram might go back to his mother and they will take him back tothe village and separate him from Rekha. She also says tells Annamalai that she heard that Kasthuri is now educated and had a makeover. Annamalai assures his wife that Ram will never leave Rekha because he loves her very much and for Radha not to worry. While they are talking his attorney calls him and asks if he and Ram are having issues because he heard that Ram went to see a someone about a job. Annamalai tells the attorney that he must be mistaken because they do not have any problems and Ram is working in their company. The attoney tells him that the company Ram went to is is friends and he himself spoke to his friend and confirmed it. Annamalai tells him that he will ask Ram and hangs up. Annamalai then tells Radha about the call and she gets more worried. Annmalai tells her it is because of Rekha's anger and interference in Ram's work at the office. He tells her not to worry and that he will talk to his daughter about it.

Jothi is in the mottai maadi looking around and thinking about her sona nd has tears in her eyes. Masil comes looking for her and sees her there. He walks to her and he asks if she is happy in the new house. Jothi wipes her tears away and tells him she is. Masil tells her that he will make sure that things work out from now on an goes to his wife and when she turns he realises that she had been crying. HE asks her what is wrong and if she is thinking about her son. He asks him if she feels that being int he same town with her son she wants to see and talk to him. Kasthuri comes upstairs and hears them talking and stops there and listens. Masil asks his wife to forget about the ungrateful son but Jothi tells him she cannot because he is her son and they should be living with their son, daughter in-law and grandchildren and only then the house will feel full and they will be happy. Masu gets angry and asks whom she meant at Son and DIL and if it is Rekha and Jothi just looks at him. Masil then asks her to promise not to meet her son nor talk to him even if he comes to the house and puts his hand out and forces her to promise but Jothi hesitates. Kasthuri sees this and to break the tense moment, walks to them pretending not to have heard anything. She asks if they were talking about her and her FIL says yes. Kasthuri tells her FIL and MIL that she is so very grateful to them for changing her life and giving her everything that she was afraid to even dream of and says that she will never be able to repay them. MAsil tells her that the only repayment he needs is for her to come up and life and prove that she is able to succeed. Kasthuri promises to do that and takes Jothi down for coffee and tells ber FIL to follow. The tensed momemnt s broken.

Rekha in her room sitting on her bed and fuming. Ram reading newspaper. Rekha walk to him snatches the papers away and throws it away and asks Ram why he is ooking for a job elsewher. Ram says that he does not want to work to them anymore. Rekha tells him that her father is upset because of this and what is the reason for this change. Ram says only now he realizes why his FIL wanted him to work with them, it was because tey wanted him where they can keep an eye on him and control him. Rekha is shocked at Ram's revelations. Ram tells her he regrets leaving his job where he was free and happy. Rekha is more shocked when he tells her that it is his decision and his personal affair and no one should interfere. He tells her he is done talking and he wants to go to bed and she should do the same.

Jothi is cleaning and Bharath comes down with his bags and tells Jothi that he is leaving and would be staying with Ganesh. Jothi asks if he has spoken to her husband and Bharath tells her he wanted to but he had gone out. He tells her that he will talk to him later and turns aroundto see Masil coming in. Masil sees Bharath with his bags and asks where he is going and Bharath tells him about his decision to stay with Ganesh. Masil asks why and Bharath tells him that it is better that day but Masil says that is not necessary because he was going to ask Ganesh to come stay with them as there is enough room for all of them. Bharath hesitates and Masil tells him he knows why and asks if Bharath feels that he will have no freedom to drink. Masil tells him that even if Bharath is living elsewhere will not allow Bharath to consume alcohol. Kasthuri walks in and hears part of the conversation and alcohol and stops. THODARUM.

Jan 28 (Mon):

KASTHURI COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY BEGINS ITS SAGA......................................................

Masil tells Bharath that he will never allow him to touch alcohol ever again. Kasthuri approaches them and Masil tells Kasthuri to convince Bharath to stay with them and she obliges. After Kasthuri talks to him, Bharath agrees to stay with them. Masil is very happy. Jothi just looks on with a straight face without expression (I somehow get the feeling that she is against Bharath staying with them and even Masil's dig at Ram's behavior and his praise about Bharath!).

Annamalai in the living thinking. Rekha comes down and he asks her if she had talked to Ram and what the outcome is. Rekha tells her father that she had spoken to him as much as she could and he is not relenting. Annamalai asks if she was humble and polite to which Rekha says the only thing she did not do was to fall at his feet. Annmalai tells her that he will talk to Ram himself and gets up and seeing Ram coming downstairs, calls him and asks if he is free. Ram says that he has something very important to do and is on the way out and if whatever Annmalai has to say can wait until he comes back. Annmalai then asks what the 'important thing' is and Ram answers that he will tell when the time comes. Annamalai immediately asks if after getting the job Ram will inform him that he is leaving. Ram is shocked, Annamalai then asks if he is leaving the company because Rekha was angry with him. Ram says that he has no freedom and that he is not as knowledgeable as Rekha and Annamalai are and it is better for him to leave where he feels his job is important. Annamalai then tells Ram if he leaves he has no choice but to sell their company because without Ram, it would be difficult for him to take care of business when the time comes. He pleads with Ram not to leave and come back and promises no one will interfere with him. Ram finally agrees and goes to his room. Everyone is happy and Rekha thanks her father.

At Masil's house, everyone is gathered and discuss the name for their company. Masil wants to name the company after Kasthuri, Kasthuri wants it to be named after Jothi, Vishu want's it to be named after Masil. Finally Masil asks Bharath if he agrees with the company being named after Kasthuri and he says yes and he says that he had already decided to name it after her because he was sure that Masil will come up with the same name. Bharath then announces that the name of the company will be KASTHURI COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY (KTC). Masil tries to say the name but is unable to pronounce right, the same with Vishu and Masil asks Jothi to say the name but Jothi escapes saying she is bringing coffee for all of them. Masil laughs saying if Jothi was educated, they will never get coffee.

Masil and the clan are entering a huge office and walk thru cubicles and hallway and end up in a posh office room. Ganesh tells them that it is Kasthuri's room and Masil is very impressed. He asks her to sit at the MD's chair and Kasthuri gets blessing from her in-laws, father and Bharath and sits on her chair. Jothi tells Kasthuri to do her best for her FIL who has been adamant to make Kasthuri a better and successful person. Vishu is very happy to see his daughter and proudly looks at her. THODARUM.

Jan 29 (Tues):

JOTHI'S WISHES REVEALED MUCH TO MASIL'S ANGER AND DISAPPOINTMENT................................

Kasthuri is in her office(looking great in a white floral saree) working. Bharat walks in and tells her that someone from Sigma company is there to see them about some business deal and wants to know if she can see him. Kasthuri tells sure and Bharath turns to go out but Kasthuri stops him and calls her PA (Ganesh) and asks him to bring the man in. The man comes in and tells her that they want to d business with her henceforth. Kasthuri asks who were they dealing with before and he tells her that they had business with Rekha infotech. Kasthuri asks who is Rekha infotech and is told that it is the company belonging to Annamalai. Kashturi asks why they stoped dealing with them as they are the no. 1 company in the industry. The man tells her that it was before but now there are many more companies better than them. He continues to say that when Annamalai was managing the company business was good but since his SIL Ram took over their business has been declining. Ganesh and Bharath smile hearing this. Kasthuri tells the man to stop talking bad about another company. She tells him that she will contact the him later about her decision. The man leaves. Kasthuri tells Bharath to call Sigma's representative and call off the business deal. Bharath asks her why but Kathuri keeps quiet. Bharath and Ganesh both tell her that she is making a mistake and when doing business they should only think about success and profit and not about others. Ganesh gets angry and tells her that after hearing Ram's name, she is melting and he had thought that Kasthuri was stron but he is wrong and walks out followed by Bharath, both disappointed. Kasthuri thinks hard.

Everyone is gathered in Masil's house. Masil walks up and down and is very angry. Bharath, Ganesh, Kasthuri and Jothi look worried. Masil then asks Kasthuri why she refused the business. He tells her that she still feels for Ram and that is why she did that. Ganesh tells Masil that they tried to talk her out of her decision but failed. Masil tells Kasthuri that he left everything behind and came to Chennai with her to make her successful and to teach those who mistreat her a lesson. He says that the only thing he wants is to destroy those who insulted them and now he feels that it will never happen. He asks Jothi to pack their bags so that both of them can go back t the village. Kasthuri apologizes to her FIL and tells him that she will be a different person and work towards her FIL's goal and promises him such. Masil tells her that she must not think of anything else but to be successful.
Next morning, Kasthuri takes coffee to Bharath's room and sees him sleeping. She wakes him up and tells him that from tomorrow, she will bring coffee for him later but Bharat tells her that he has been awake for a long time and had fallen asleep again. Kasthuri apologizes again saying she will make coffee for him sooner. Bharath tells her not to trouble herself but Kasthuri insists, saying that it is her duty to serve him because he is her teacher, well-wisher and philospher. Kasthuri then takes coffee to Masil who is on the motai maadi. He takes the coffee and asks why she is doing it and calls Jothi and scolds her for letting Kasthuri do housework. He tells Jothi it is enough that Kasthuri has been int he kitchen since she got married and now that she is the owner of KCT, she need not do any more housework. Jothi tells her that Kasthuri wanted to make coffee despite her telling Kasturi not to. Kasthuri then tells her FIL that she wants to make coffee for them and is happy to do so and Masil should not stop her.

Kasthuri in her room getting ready to go to work. Jothi enters and wants to talk to her about something important since the day before. Kasthuri asks her why she is hesitating to talk to her and Jothi tells her that it is something she needs to say when Masil was not around and as he has gone out she wants to talk to her before he comes back. Kasthuri tells her to go ahead. Jothi tells her that she felt that Kasthuri did right when she turned down the business deal. Kasthuri is confused and asks her MIL to explain. Jothi tells her that since both the family are against each other and with Kasthuri dealing with their business partners, the enimosity will become worse. She goes on to tell Kasthuri that she came to Chennai with the hope that Kasthuri and Ram will be united and that is her wish. Unknown to Jothi, Masil had returned and walks past Kasthuri's room and stops when he hears Jothi talking to Kasthuri. Kasthuri sees her FIL but is unable to tell her MIL. Jothi continues to say that the relationship between husband and wife is sacred and no one should come between. She goes on to say that Ram is young and had made a mistake but she is sure that he will soon turn a new leaf and return. She says that Masil is the one who sees Ram as the enemy and Kasthuri should not listen to her FIL. She stops talking, looks up and sees Kasthuri's face and realizes something is wrong and turns around to see Masil walking towards the her. He asks her why she has stoped talking and brainwashing Kasthuri. He tells Kasthuri that in the Mahabaratha Krishna had advised Arjuna to fight against his sibling for the sake of truth and good, but her she is advising Kasthuri to go against good and fight for the evil. He is very disappointed at Jothi and tells her that being a mother she only sees the love for her son but he sees the torture and insult her son had thrown at him and the disgrace he had suffered. He says that for Jothi, her son is more important than the husband and if she wants she can go stay with her son. Kasthuri tells her FIL not to be harsh with Jothi. Masil feels that he will never be able to realize his dreams with his own people are working against him and turns away. Bharath walks in and sees Masil's sad and disappointed look. THODARUM.

Jan 30 (Wed):

Continued from yesterday. Masil turns to see Bharath come in. Bharath apologizes for intefering in their personal issues and asks if he may say something. When Masil asks what is in his mind, Bharath tells him that Kasthuri cannot succeed by herself and she needs all the help and encouragement from everyone in the family. And if they are always fighting and arguing, Kasthuri will not be able to concentrate on her job and everything will fail. He advises Masil to forget about the past and move forward, then asks Kasthuri if she is ready to leave for the office.

Annamalai in his office looking through files and finds the cancelled contracts. He calls Mohan Babu, the Manager and asks him what is happening and why he was not told of this before. Mohan Bahu tells him that their clients have terminated the contract with them and have moved on to another company called KCT. Mohan Babu also tells Annamalai that he had informed Ram about this and thought that he would have passed on to Annamalai. Rekha walks in and says that she too has heard of this new company and is worried about losing their clients to them. Ram walks in and Annamalai asks if he knows about KCT but Ram says he doesn't know about the company at all. Rekha tells him that their clients are cancelling contracts with them and dealing with KCT. Ram tells Annamalai that they should not worry about this because eveyone would be attracted to a new company due to curiousity but will eventually come back. Rekha gets angry and says that it is an irresponsible reply. Annamalai asks if Ram came in to say something but Ram says he will come back and leaves. There seems to be a lot of tension between Rekha and Ram. Rekha then tells her father that she will analyze the situation and give him a report on a possible solution and leaves. The Manager has a smug look on his face.

Masil is in the living thinking, Jothi walks down and passes him without even looking at her husband. Masil sees her and asks her to sit with him but she refuses and asks him what he wants. Masil apologizes for being harsh with her. He tells her that he too loves Ram because he is their son, but cannot forgive his betrayal. He feels guilty for what Ram had done to Kasthuri and that is why it is their responsibility to give her a good life. He tells her that it is a sin to betray a woman and is afraid if Ram would be cursed for life. He asks that Jothi supports him in his quest. Jothi just listens and doesn't say anything. Kasthuri and Bharath return from the office and Kasthuri hands over a cheque to her FIL and says that they have secured the contract from the client and is very happy. She seeks blessing from her in-laws. Masil gives the cheque to Bharath saying that it is his guru thachanai but Bharath refuses and suggests that they use the money to buy Kasthuri a new car. Masil says it is a good idea and is all for it. Kasthuri refuses saying they already have a car but Masil tells her it is an old car and she needs a new one. He tells Bharath that he will leave everything concerning Kasthuri and her life in Bharath's hand from now on. Jothi is not happy to hear this but keeps quiet. Bharath accepts the responsibility and takes leave to bank in the cheqeu and make queries on purchasing a new car. Masil lets Bharath go and turns to find Jothi gone in, he just smiles and walks away.

Ganesh and Jothi are at an appliances store. Ram enters with Rekha and Santosh (Santhosh is a todler now, possibly 2-3 years old). Ganesh sees them and thinks Jothi might wants to mee Ram. He shows Jothi the trio and tells her to go meet and talk to Ram but Jothi hesitates and stops, saying that she will not go against her husband's wishes. Also, if he finds out, he will be heartbroken. Ganesh says no one need to know and he will not tell, but Jothi says no. Meanwhile, Ram puts Santhosh down and the boy walks towards Jothi and Jothi carries him and kisses him. Ram and Rekha find their son missing and begin looking for him. Ganesh quickly picks Santhosh up and walks towards Ram and gives the boy to him. Ganesh tell Ram and Rekha not to be careless because Santosh just walked towards him. He then tells Ram that eventhough Santhosh is his son, he knows who are good and love him sincerely and that is why Santhosh came to him and walks off. Ram looks confused but keeps quiet. THODARUM.

Jan 31 (Thurs):

Kasthuri wakes up in the middle of the night and finds her MIL missing. She gets up and goes out of the room and sees her mother in law sitting alone in the living deep in thoughts. Kasthuri goes to her MIL and asks her what is wrong and that she had noticed that MIL has been very quiet since evening. Jothi tells Kasthuri that she saw Ram, Rekha and Santhosh. The minute Ksthuri hears Ram's name, her face blooms like a 1000 watts bulb!. Jothi tells her that she carried her grandson. Kasthuri asks if her MIL spoke to Ram and how they are. Jothi says only she saw them but they didn't because she kept away from them. Kashturi asks why and is told that because Masil had forbid her. Kasthuri asks her MIL to go to the room and tell her more but Jothi refuses saying they will talk in the morning.

Ram is reading newspaper and Rekha at the computer seriously working on something. Santosh stars crying and Ram asks Rekha to take care of their son but Rekha tells Ramto do it as she is busy. Ram gets angry and asks why is work more important that their son and if it is not enough that she works all day at the office. Rekha gets irritated and carries her son and scolds him and in anger raises her hand. Ram get angry and shouts at her again, hearing the commotion, Radha and Annamalai come out and asks what is going on. Rekha tells him that she was working on an important project for thei company and Ram refused to take care of Santosh. Rekha tells her dad that Ram does not like women to be educated and self efficient that is why he is angry. Ram glares at Rekha and she glares back before walking away.

Kasthuri reading newspaper and Jothi brings her coffee and asks where Masil is. Kasthuri tells her to look in his room and Jothi says she already looked but he is not there. Masil walks in and tells them he had gone for morning walk. Bharath too wakes up and joins them and asks what is going on, Masil tells him to join him in the morning walk as it is good for health. Masil tells Bharath that he will wake him up at 5am in the morning for the walk and Bharath says he had never done that and everyone laughs.

Annamalai sits with Ram in the living and tells Ram that all their clients are going to the new company called KCT. He wants to find out more about the company and wants to know if it is their weakness or the new company's better technolog. Rekha joins them and says that they are at fault because there are new companies with better technology and they should produce new programs and gives her new project to her father to look at. Annamalai looks at the project and is very impressed. He asks Rekha if had done the program herself. He then passes the projet to Ram to look at and Ram says it is not something new and it has already been in the market and it is a project of Accounting Rally. Rekha asks him if he had known about this, why he did not create the program. Annamalai tells Ram that they will introduce their programe in the market and he should charge to counter attack the new company which is spoing their image. Ram asks his FIL why he should be the one responsible, since Rekha is there to do everything. Rekha shouts at him again and walks off. Radha tells Rekha not to argue with Ram and tells Annamalai that it is all his fault. At night Annamalai tells Ram that he had shown te project to some people and they like it and wants to go ahead with it and asks Ram what he thinks. Ram tells him t do as he wishes and not necessary for second opinion. While tey are talking, Annamalai gets a call from someone called Ramesh from Canada. Annamalai talks to him and asks Ramesh if his sons are married. Hearing this Ram looks up. THODARUM.

Feb 1 (Fri):

Continued from yesterday - Annamalai is still on the line with his friend from Canada. Annamalai is very happy to hear that his friend's son wants to come to India to look for a bride. Annamalai is happy to hear that and wants his friend to tell him when his son Niwas is coming and to email Niwas' photo to him. He wants Niwas to stay with them and hangs up. He later tells Radha and Rekha that Niwas is coming and that his father Ramesh would have sent the email and they go to the room to check leaving an irritated Ram behind. All three look at Niwas' photo and are very happy. Rekha says that Niwas is very handsome. Radha and Annamalai says that if they had another daughter, they would make Niwas their SIL. Ram hears this and gets more irritated. He walks away disgusted.

Next day, Annamalai comes in and calls for Radha. Radha comes out and asks where Niwas is and Annamalai says he is outside and will only come down when everyone is gathered. He calls Rekha who is in the room with Ram and Santhosh (Santosh looks much smaller than he did the day before. I wonder why they are so inconsistent with the child actor!). Rekha comes out and asks what he needs and her father tells Rekha to bring Ram and Santosh down as Niwas wants to meet them. Rekha asks Ram to go downstairs with her but Ram tells her he is not interested to meet Niwas and asks who he is to him. Rekha says her father wants everyone to meet Niwas and Ram gets angry saying that being a Veetu Maapilai and living like aslave, he has to do their bidding and oes down with her.

Niwas walks in (this guy acted as Divakar in Muhurtham) and greets everyone. He asks Radha what is the secret of her youth and jokes with her. He then hi and low 5's with Rekha and Annamalai is happy saying that Niwas has not forgotten anything. Niwas is introduced to eeryone and he goes to Ram and puts his hand out but Ram refuses his hand. Niwas takes it easy and tells Ram that he is Rekha's childhood friend and now Ram's friend too. Ram turns away. Niwas tells them that since they had insisted to stay with them, he will but feels bad that Ram did not say anything. Rekha tells Niwas that Ram doesn't speak much. Niwas tells her it is okay because he is just the opposite of Ram. Annamalai excuses himself and goes to the office. Radha goes in to cook. Rekha than asks Niwas what kind of person he is looking for in a bride and he tells her a girl just like Rekha. Hearing this Ram gets more angry but keeps quiet and glares at them. He then goes to Ram and tells him how lucky he is to get a wife like Rekha. Rekha aks Niwas to follow her so that she can show him his room and they leave.

Annamalai, Rekha, Ram and Manager in the office. Annamalai is worried that all their contract are being taken over by KCT. Manager tells them that the new project they introduced was not very successful and that KCT has better program. Manager also says that the program looks like Ram's and they should have marketed Ram's program. Ram then says that any program done in a hurry would surely fail (hinting that Rekha's program is no good) but a program that is done with much care would be better. Rekha gets angry and leaves. Manager has a smirk on his face.

At home Radha had prepared special food for Niwas. They wait for Ram and Rekha to come down and Niwas goes up to call her. Rekha and Ram come downstairs and Niwas says that he was very angry but when he sees Rekha his hunger had gone. They all sit to eat and Niwas serves them. Ram is still angry and doesn't tak. Annamallai tells Niwas not to talk while eating and everyone laughs except Ram. Niwas then says that he was to start a construction business and wants Ram to be his partner and asks him. Ram rudely tells him that he is not interested in anything that he has no knowledge of. Niwas tells Ram that they should take risks in business and they will learn as they work. Ram gets up and leave the table saying he is not hungry. Rekha to gets up but Annamalai stops her saying that Ram may not be hungry so leave him alone. After the meal, Rekha goes upstairs to see Ram pacing. Rekha tells him that it was rude of Ram to leave the dining table because Niwas is their guest. Ram says that he does not care who Niwas is and he is angry that everyone listen to Niwas and are not bothered about him. Rekha tells Ram that he is talking bad about Niwas because he is suspicious of him. Ram shouts at Rekha and she is stunned. THODARUM.

Feb 4(Mon):

Ram shouts at Rekha, saying that he has n respect in the family. Rekha is shocked and tells Ram that once one starts to be suspicious, everything will seem wrong. Ram says that everyone is treating him like a fixture by bringing someone from outside and treating him like God. Rekha walks away in disgust. Masil taking his walk (not sure morning or afternoon). Bharath's BIL Jayaram is at a stall drinking coconut water. Masil comes there and orders one for himself and notices Jayaram and begins recollecting his conversation with Bharath about him sometime ago. Jayaram pays the vendor and walks away. He drops his wallet and Masil takes it and returns to Jayaram. Jayaram thanks him and Masil asks him to check his wallet and when he does, Masil sees Bharath's & Kaveri's wedding photo and asks Jayaram who they are (he actually asks if they are his parents!). Jayaram tells him that it is his sister and BIL. Masil then asks about them and Jayaram tells him the story. Jayaram then excuses himself and they part.

Ram is in the living and Rekha brings coffee for Ram and Annamalai. Annamalai asks if Rekha had given Niwas his coffee and she tells him that Radha will give him. Radha tells her husband that she went to give coffee to Niwas but he was not there. Ram tells them maybe Niwas did not return last night as he might be partying. Niwas comes back and tells them he went for a walk and asks if they nevr did. Radha tells him that she and Rekha went for morning walks before Rekha got married but after she married, they stopped. Niwas asks why they stopped, as Rekha lives there with her husband afer they got married. Ram gets irritated, gets up and walks away.

Jothi is in the living room dep in thought. Kasthuri comes back and tells her that she is very hungry and will come after washing up. Jothi tells her that she did not cook that day. Kasthuri asks why and Jothi tells her to go to the kitchen and see for herself. Kasthuri goes to the kitchen and sees Masil cooking while singing to himself. Ksthuri asks her FIl why he is cooking and is told that it was a challenge by Jothi. He tells everyone that he had cooked many varieties. Everyone sits down to eat and Masil tells them to eat. Kasthuri first puts some food into her mouth and her face twiches, then Jothi followed by Bharath. Masil asks how the food is and Kasthuri tells him it is something she had never eaten before and very good. Jothi tells Masil to eat and when Masil eats, he finds out that the food is extremely salty. Finally Masil decides they will all go out to eat.

Ram is upstairs with his sullen face. Rekha comes to ask him to come for breakfast as her father and the others are waiting. Ram refuses saying that no one needs to wait for him and he is not coming because he is not hungry. Rekha tries to reason with him but Ram is very adamant sayng that he is no one in the house and for her to go and serve their Niwas. Rekha asks why he is talking like that and why he feels unrelated. Ram says that he is unsure of his relationship with Rekha so how can be sure of the others. Rekha gets angry and tells him if there was a reason for his anger she can talk and find a solution but cannot do anything for his unreasonable attitute and walks off. Ram sits down on the bed with a huff and loks like his face is going to burst! THODARUM.
