What I'm thinking is... Just as Stefan's about to chow down on Elena (😆) Klaus comes & stops him... Saying he'll have to wait for the full moon (when he attempts it all again)... Because apparently in the promo he says "I have ways to make you suffer (I watched it with the sound off)... Then he asks Rebekah to enrol in Mystic Falls High to keep an eye on Elena... See that she doesn't do anything stupid (so she doesn't do a Katherine basically & turn or whatever)... That explains why the others would be "shocked/Surprised" by a new student in Ric's class...

Stefan really is an incomparable lover..all that he's been through for Elena is so touching.. the way he tells her to leave, to protect herself from him, even though he loves her more than anyone ever could, but most of all how he manages to resist Klaus's, an original's compulsion, so strong is his love for Elena! I love him <3
