Chapter Five

The tardy bell rang ending the Maths period. The ma'am left leaving the class on its expense. As soon as she left, Kena, a girl faving braided hair and round specs came out and went towards Kiya. "Chal! Aaj humaara turn hai class mind karne ka," Kena said in a low tone dragging her towards the board. In their class, they had roll no. wise minding. Actually, KD was her partner. But due to continuous quarreling, their partners were changed. They also had to visit Sr. Rozylyn, their principal's office.

Kiya was just going there when she was going to bang with someone. The person being KD, she got angry, "Dek-" she was going to say when Kena squeezed her hand. She looked towards her, her eyes questioning what. She mouthed 'language'. She realised- she was going to speak in hindi. It was an English school- so surely there was compulsory English language. But obvious, we speak in Hindi. But here, Mr. KD was there, to make sure Kiya does not speak in any other language.

"Can't you see and walk? What are you doing out of your place?" Kiya asked being the authority at the moment. "I guess you forgot- I'm the board captain," KD said turning in an implacable tone."O-Okay. Do it fast!" She avoided looking at him and took a chalk and started writing names. Being the board captain, it was KD's responsibility to write date and day. He reached the corner of the board to write it when he felt something beneath him.
