Prologue: Raindrops

KD's P.O.V

I looked out of the window and watched the rain pour down. The hospital discharged me today ,and Omi, my elder brother and Panchi, his fiance were driving me back home. Home...it doesn't give me a warm feeling anymore. It's like no matter where I am I'll always feel empty inside. Even if it is at home with my brother.

I looked down at me hand. It was the very hand that I held her hand in. She was alive and breathing one second and the next she was gone. I feel like someone shattered my heart like it was glass and I can't find the pieces. I could have done something. I shouldn't have let her go. Now she's gone, and she will never coming back. They say that if you truly love someone you will get her but did anyone mention anything about losing her.

The car pulled into the driveway. My brother opened the door and Panchi held out her hand to help me. I ignored both of them and got out of the car. The door was already open so I made my way towards it. I could hear the raindrops playing the rhythm of my empty heart.

I went straight to my room. It was just the way I had left it. Everything was in it's place except for the banner which she left, which said "Go Kd!!!".

"You should have your lunch", came Panchi's voice from the door, "You need it to take your tablets, remember?"

I didn't reply.

"The food is on the table.", she said, "Have it soon."

"I want today's news paper.", I said.

"KD..."

She left, and returned with the newspaper. She handed it over to me and looked at me, concerned. After a few seconds she left.

I looked down at the paper and read the front page. There it was, the bitter truth.

"Singing sensation Kiya Gujral no more"

I looked out of the window. The rain was still pouring hard as if mourning for Kiya. I watched a raindrop slide down the window pane just as a tear slid down my cheek.
