1.Nothing has Changed

KD's P.O.V

3 years later...

Another day gone by without her. It's like trying to live without air. Somehow I survived till now. The only thing that gets me going is Omi bhai and Panchi...and my students at Imperial college. It feels good to be able to guide these lost teenagers. Now I know how Jaitley sir felt about us.

I walked to my car when I saw Piddhi leaning against the car door waiting for me. I walk up to him with a smile on my face.

"Hey Piddhi, long time", I said.

"KD bhai, I want to talk to you", he said with a serious look.

"What is it?", I asked. I have hardly seen Piddhi so serious except when Kiya...died.

"You do know that tonight is Ranveer and Rukmini's wedding , right?", he asked.

I didn't need anyone to remind me that. Since the accident my equation with everyone had changed. Ranveer was my best friend but today, his is the last face I want to see.

"I am not forcing you to come", Piddhi continued "Just wish them. Even a message would do."

"I can't Piddhi", I said with a sigh, "Not after what happen."

"That was three years ago and he is your best friend. His wedding would not be complete without you in it", he said.

"What if it was Avantika?", I asked him, "Will you forgive him then?"

He kept quite.

"I am going", he said "Ranveer is Avantika's cousin and she's my girlfriend so I am going."

"Fine go."

He gave me one last hopeful look and then sighed in disappointment. I watched him leave. I know that I shouldn't have been so harsh. It's not his fault. It's Ranveer's.

Just then I got a call to substitute one of my colleague's extra classes. Well, I guess I will have something to occupy me so that I don't think about the wedding.

I entered the class. I was 15 minutes early so I waited for the students to arrive. I heard a knock at the door. It was Jaitley sir.

"Sir, come in", I said.

I felt so good to see him again.

"Aren't you going to the wedding?", I asked.

"I am but I thought I should talk to you before that", he replied.

"If this has anything to do with Ranveer's wedding you're wasting your time", I said frustrated .

"It's about you", he said calmly.

"Me?"

Sir sat down on one of the front benches and I joined him.

"It's been 3 years", he said," Don't you think that it's high time you moved on?"

"I have tried."

"You didn't try hard enough."

"It's impossible to forget her."

"Nothing's impossible."

I know that I can't win this argument.

"What is your point?", I asked with a sigh.

"I've told your parents and brother that they can start looking for a girl for you and I want you to give her a chance."

I can't do that...but I also can't disappoint my parents.

"Fine", I said.

"Good."

With that he left.

After an hour I dispersed the class and collected my things to go home. I guess I will be alone tonight considering that everyone is going to be at Ranveer-Rukmini's wedding. I cant go there. I cant face him or Rukmini.

"I can't believe that college over so soon", Ranveer said.

"Yeah, it feels like we just started yesterday and we had that stupid bike race", I said and we both laughed at our stupid fight that we had back then.

"So you and Kiya are going of to Delhi, then US. I guess we'll have tough time meeting you guys.", Ranveer said with a grin.

"Fame won't come between us Ranveer", I said," and anyways I think it's Kiya who'll be busy and not me."

"Nonsense", he said" I've seen the pair of you dance and you guys will surely make it to the big screen. Kiya will go from popular to famous and so will you."

"I guess so."

"You will come for Panchi's wedding, right?"

"Of course I will. It's my brother's wedding too."

"Great so we'll definitely meet soon."

I smiled.

"So you got your car's break fixed, right? You said that there was some problem", I said.

"Of course I did. Now it's ready to run."

Kiya and Rukmini joined us and we headed for the railway station. It took us forever to convince Kiya to go by train. At last we made a deal that we would go by first class. Only if we had thought of booking the tickets earlier we could have got flight tickets to Delhi.Ranveer started of in full speed. We had to take a lot of shortcuts that Ranveer took us almost till the outskirts of the city.

"Slow down Ranveer", Rukmini said.

"It's you fault I have to drive so fast", he said" You girls took too long to get ready that now KD and Kiya are going to be late for their train."

"WATCH OUT!!", Kiya screamed.

Ranveer turned the car with a sharp jerk and we nearly missed being hit by a truck which was coming from the opposite direction. We were at a height and I thought we would go off road and down to the bottom.

Ranveer tried to stop the car but...

"The break's not working", he said panicking.

Just then another another truck came our way and this time Ranveer lost all control over the car. The door next to Kiya's opened and she almost fell out when I caught her hand. The next thing I know, her hand slipped from my grip and I fell on the ground my self. I could see Kiya about ten feet away from me. "I love you" she mouthed.

Darkness filled my vision.

Her body was not found. We searched for ages but there was no sign of her. So she was declared dead. I don't know what to believe and what not to. All I know is that I still love Kiya and I still hate Ranveer. It might have been 3 years but nothing has changed.

The humming stopped. Well, I must have imagined it. I took out the notes and looked up to see Kiya standing in front of the car in red cardigan dress. I dropped the notes.
