Facebook profile picture got me this role: Chandan Anand

Producer Nikhil Sinha's Hatim is creating waves in its own way. Not only children but even adults are relating to the show. Besides Hatim played by Rajbir Snigh other actor Chandan K Anand playing Zargam is also being appreciated.

We checked with him how is the response and how he was chosen for the role he says, "I am getting excellent feedback for the role and the show both. My casting story is unique. I was one day browsing through my Facebook and changed my profile picture which had me in a cap and the effects had hues. At that point of time Nihkil Sinha was casting for 'Hatim' and he just called me to meet him and finalized me for Zargam. It's such a coincidence, changing picture on facebook got me this role in a way!"


The role which is meant for you comes to you. On being asked what is so special about it he says, "Zargam is a character that has just so much evil in him. He was a soldier in one of the Arabian nations and wanted to attain the highest supremacy and power in the entire world. He found out the answers to the seven questions and chose the dark path of acquiring the evil powers and not the good ones. He just wants to rule everyone and everything".

On being asked how much Anand relates to the character he says, "I do not relate to my character at all, he is so evil, I am a very artistic and simple man. I was not very interested in fantasy earlier but after 'Hatim' came my way I love it, I have been watching all the fantasy movies like 'Lord of the Rings', 'Zorro' etc. Nikhil Sinha is one person who shapes all the characters so authentically"
