Chapter 35
Bihaan was on call with Bau Ji. Thapki was finally out of the operation theatre and the whole procedure had gone successfully. Bihaan who was tense during the surgery had now come to the Cafeteria to have a cup of tea.
Bihaan: "Don't worry Bau Ji, I am totally fine here and Thapki is fine too. I will meet her in few hours. Her surgery is finally over"
Bau Ji: "I hope everything went well"
Bihaan: "Yes Bau Ji... The doctor told me that the surgery was successful. Thapki will be kept in hospital for 1-2 days and then she can go home. She will have to take proper rest and then in 4-6 weeks, she will be back to her normal life"
Bau Ji: "Thank God. We were really worried here. If it had not been Singhania's daughter's marriage, we would have never left u alone like this. But u know how we are interested in getting Kiran married to their son Vicky and..."
Bihaan: "I understand Bau Ji and I assure u that I can handle it all alone. U ppl need not worry abt me or Thapki. All we need is ur prayers"
Bau Ji: "And our prayers r always with u. Ok I have to go now... I will call u later"
Bihaan: "Bye Bau Ji and kindly pay my regards to all"
Bihaan put the cell back in his pocket and started taking sips of his tea. The worried look on Thapki's face, just before leaving for her surgery, was sthg that had been bothering him since then.

Thapki was shifted into a room. The doctor had allowed Bihaan to visit her. She looked pale and weak. He felt bad for her. As soon as Thapki saw him, a smile touched her lips.
Thapki: "I did it"
Bihaan (with a smile): "Yes u did it. I am so proud of u dear"
Thapki: "Doctor said my surgery was successful and I am fine... Can we go home now?"
Bihaan: "Not so soon. U will have to spend 2 nights in hospital and after that doctor will decide if she can discharge u or not"
Thapki: "But I am not feeling comfortable here... I wanna go home"
Bihaan: "Even I can't wait to take u home but u need to be fit for that. Ok tell me wat wd u like to eat?"
Thapki: "I am not hungry"
Bihaan: "But u need to eat sthg or else u will stay weak and ur stay here will become longer"
Thapki: "I don't know. I don't feel like having anything right now"
Bihaan: "Ok I will bring sthg for u but u will have to eat it then. I will be back in half an hour... U rest till then"
Thapki who was feeling sleepy due to medication, nodded her head and closed her eyes.

Bihaan was leaving Thapki's room when he spotted Sheena with a box and a thermos in her hands.
Sheena: "Thank God Bihaan u r here"
Bihaan: "I was just leaving to bring some food for Thapki. She might not like the food in here"
Sheena: "I knew u must be worried abt her appetite so I have brought this home made soft khichdi for her. I asked the doctor and she told me that we shd give soft food in small portions to Thapki"
Bihaan: "Thanks a lot Sheena. U have been of great help at this time"
Sheena: "Oh plz Bihaan... There is no thank u in friendship... After all I am ur one and only friend here"
Bihaan and Sheena walked into Thapki's room but Thapki had already gone to sleep by then.

Shradha was noticing Kiran's activity on phone. She walked towards her and stood next to her.
Shradha: "Is every thing alright?"
Kiran: "Oh yes Shradha Bhabhi... I was just talking to my friend Sonia... She just told me abt her engagement... I am so glad for her"
Shradha: "Oh that is such a gud news"
Kiran: "Oh yes Bhabhi... Sonia was in love with this guy and she was worried that sthg might go wrong but I am so glad that they r finally united"
Shradha: "Ya I know. There is nthg as gud as to have a love marriage. U know how Dhruv and I love each other since our college days and I am so happy to be married to him now"
Kiran: "Yes... U two r my ideal couple"
Shradha: "So do u like some one too?"
Kiran (blushing): "Oh no Bhabhi... U know I am a very shy girl"
Shradha: "Oh come on... this is 21st century... We women r free now... There is no need to be shy... In fact I must advise u to select a guy for u before ur parents select some one for u"
Kiran: "Wat's wrong in that? I wd prefer to marry a guy of my parent's choice"
Shradha: "I appreciate that but wat if ur parents choose some one who does not actually love u... Or if he is not as per ur liking... There is no bigger punishment in life then to spend ur whole life with an unwanted person... e.g. look at Bihaan... He married Thapki who is not up to the standards of this house and now he is spending this unhappy, unwanted life... "
Kiran did not say anything this time as mention of Thapki and Bihaan and their unhappy married life made her thinking...

Thapki was finally getting discharged from hospital. She luckily had to spend only one night in the hospital and the doctor had finally discharged her. She only had to be extra careful with her stitches and was asked to limit her activities for the first week at least.
Thapki was walked towards the parking where Bihaan opened the door of a car. Thapki looked at him with inquiring eyes.
Bihaan: "First sit in the car and I will explain later"
He carefully made her sit in the front seat and took the driving seat himself.
Thapki: "Whose car is this?"
Bihaan: "This is our car"
Thapki: "Our car?"
Bihaan: "Yes our car. I had been planning to buy a car since a long time now and there would not have been a better time then now to go ahead with the plan. Actually I had everything finalised before leaving for Pune... Only delivery was left"
Thapki: "Wow. Congrats... But from where did u get all the money?"
Bihaan: "Wat do u mean by that? Do u think I am this poor that I can't even afford a car?"
Thapki: "Sorry I did not mean that"
Bihaan: "It's ok. Actually I was short of cash earlier but with my recent promotion and raise, I was able to save this much money... Btw did u not like this car?"
Thapki (happily): "I loved it"
The two reached home in no time in their new car. Thapki wanted to walk to their room but Bihaan did not want her to climb all those stairs. So he lifted her up in his arms and walked inside.
As soon as they entered the main hall, they saw the family sitting in the main hall. The two looked at them nervously.
Dadi: "Welcome home Thapki"
Thapki who felt awkward being in Bihaan's arms, signalled at him to put her down. Bihaan saw her signal but carried her into the main hall and carefully placed her in the Sofa near Dadi. Everyone gathered around Thapki except Vasu. Bihaan went ahead and took Vasu's ashirvaad.
Vasu: "Stay blessed"
Bihaan: "When did u ppl come?"
Bau Ji: "Just half an hour ago"
Bihaan: "I did not c any car outside"
Bau Ji: "Dhruv and Shradha have gone out. How is Thapki bitiya now?"
Bihaan: "She is ok but she needs to take rest"
Bau ji: "Then u must take Thapki bitiya to her room. She must rest"
Bihaan: "Yes Bau Ji"
Bihaan looked at Thapki who was looking pale and tired. Every one was gathered around her asking her abt her health. She with a weak smile was assuring everyone that she was fine. He noticed how Vasu had completely ignored her.
Bihaan: "Let's go Thapki. U must rest"
Thapki nodded.
Dadi: "Where r u taking her?"
Bihaan: "To our room"
Dadi: "But she can stay in my room as it is on ground floor"
Thapki: "No Dadi... I will be more comfortable in my own room. Also I do not want to trouble u with my sick state"
Dadi: "U can never trouble me my child but if u want to stay in ur own room then I have no issues"
Bihaan once again lifted her in his arms and moved towards the stairs. He heard Vasu's voice where she was giving instructions to everyone to take care of Thapki while she is sick. Bihaan felt a lil relaxed and started climbing the stairs. May be Thapki's sickness and her weakness had melted Vasu's heart. May be...

Bihaan had been extra careful and was not making Thapki move at all. On the other side, Thapki was waiting for him to leave the room and leave her alone. Finally she got some time alone when Bihaan was called downstairs.
Thapki had been waiting for this moment since the operation day. Actually she had not forgotten abt Sheena's ring but she was hoping that it was a different ring and the ring in the wardrobe was still there. She wanted to confirm before talking to Bihaan abt it. That is y she had been insisting to stay in their room. She slowly got up and walked towards the wardrobe and opened it with a fast beating heart. She looked into the place where she had last seen it but it was not there. She hysterically started searching for it every where but the ring was gone. And she knew knew very well where it was...
