"Sare documents hogaye hain. Sweaters bhi pack hogaye hain..." Twinkle spoke, checking off the list in her hand once she had zipped up one side the suitcase. She was rummaging through her brain trying to remember the things that she might have forgotten when a familiar hand slid around her waist, a warm breath brushing over her neck.
"Abhi nahin na Kunj!" She removed his hands from her waist and turned around without sparing a glance towards her needy husband, his face conveyed surprise and a touch of disappointment too. Twinkle opened the cupboard and pulled out about four different pairs of faded jeans now resting in her hands.
"Kunj yeh toh kaafi purani hain aur tum yeh pehente bhi nahin ho. Main inhe donation pile mein daal rahi hoon." She announced, dropping the jeans on the pile of clothes that were piling up in a bag on the couch.
"Yaar..." He started to say looking at half of his old clothes that, he hadn't worn in years, thrown inside the donation bag. Taking a deep breath and maintaining his calm, Kunj directed his attention back to his occupied wife, spinning her towards him just as she was about to lean in to pick up her check list lying on the bed.
"Tera hero idhar khara hai aur tera dhiyan uss ke ilawa har jagah hai?" He teased her, his finger gently tracing the profile of her face and teasing the back of her waist.
"Kya Kunj... Packing toh puri karni hogi na!" She reasoned trying to make him loosen his grip on her.
"Haan toh main kab mana kar raha hoon. Teri help kar deta hoon." He placed a small peck on her cheek before loosening his hold on her.
"Ji nahin! Tumhe help karne ki koi zaroorat nahin hai. Tum apne project pe focus karo. Apni presentations ko double check karlo. Main bas yahi chahati hoon ke tumhe binawaja ka koi stress na ho." She exclaimed rearranging the dumped clothing into the suitcase and pushing his hand away from her once again.
"Agar tu sach mein mera stress kam karna chahati hai tho mujhe ek kiss de dena please!" He spoke teasingly smiling at her, his hand swung over his shoulders scratching the back of his head.
She flashed him her signature smile as she heartily pulled his cheeks before turning around, picking up her checklist and walking out of the door without sparing another glimpse or uttering another word.
"Itna tarsati kyun hai mujhe, Siyappa Queen?!" He whined to himself, following behind her.
"Twinkle! Twinkle!" His wife was clearly in no mood to listen to him but Kunj was adamant that he would have his say.
"Yaar Twinkle sunn na please! Choti si cheez hi tho maang raha hoon." He pleaded trying to catch up with her as she waltz through the house.
"Twinkle!" He whined her name once again, reviving a cold glare from her in return.
She looked at him appalled. Instead of apologizing for disturbing her when he was fully aware that she was packing their clothes for their trip, he huffily stomped off, that too making sure that she saw how evidently unhappy and annoyed he was with her. Her mouth hung open at his irrational behaviour and she stomped off to Bebe's room to pick up the last remaining items to pack.
Stepping back into the room, she saw him sitting at his end of the bed with his phone over his face, silently sulking to himself whilst sneaking a glance at her momentarily.
The tense atmosphere of the room was detected as soon as Bebe stepped into the room. She had dropped by to ask Twinkle whether she had taken the gifts she had brought for Nikki and Usha, but she immediately sensed the conflict between the husband and wife duo. "Yeh tum done ne phir se jaghra kiya hai?"
"Nahi tho Bebe." Twinkle replied, nervously chuckling and looking at Kunj, who still refused to look up.
"Acha ji? Tho yeh Kunj aise muu bana ke kyun para hua hai?" She inquired.
"Bebe main ne thodi kuch kiya!" Twinkle quickly replied already pleading her case. "Main tho chup chap, khamoshi se hamari packing kar rahi hoon."
Bebe looked over at Kunj who had let out an exaggerated sigh listening to his wife's response. She walked over to Twinkle and spoke calmly, stroking her hair. "Puttar, tu tho meri samajhdar nuu hai na? Choti choti baaton ka khayal rakhna teri zimadari hai. Tum done har waqt aise ladhte raho ge tho kaise chale ga puttar?" Twinkle simply nodded in understanding as Bebe placed a gentle pat to the top of her head. "Yeh tohfe rakh lena, teekh hai?" She said before turning for the door.
Twinkle closed the door as soon as Bebe left. She picked up the cushions lying on the couch and aimed them at Kunj with as much energy she could muster, her anger fuelling her throws.
"Teri problem kya hai Twinkle!" He addressed her, now irritated.
"Kya hai? Kya hai? Yhe tum mujhse pooch rahe ho? Tumhe bas wait karne ko kaha tha aur tum aise muu phula ke bethe ho ki jaise vanvaas pe jane ko kaha ho!" She fired back at him.
"Bebe ke samne bhi tumhe aise muu phulana tha na! Abb jao jahan jana hai tumhe! Main tumhare kareeb to kya, tumhare saath abb London bhi nahin jaungi!" Seeing his face wash over with shock and surprise as opposed to the regretful expression that she was expecting, she threw the last pillow in her hand hitting him directly in his face. She stormed out of the room, leaving him all alone to ponder on what had just happened.
"Kya yaar! Thoda sa time hi manga tha aur woh bhi mehanga par gaya!" He mumbled to himself, trying to think of a way to reconcile with his upset and angry wife. Knowing Twinkle's anger, Kunj was sure that she would muster up one reason or another to stay behind, just to prove to him that Twinkle Kunj Sarna's threats were not empty and definitely not ones to take lightly.
Kunj paced around the living room for what seemed like hours until he concluded that no elaborate plan would bear fruit besides the plan of him desperately apologizing. Making up his mind, he left to search for her and eventually found her in their room, trying to get the suitcases off the bed on to the floor to drag them downstairs later. She was halfway successful in placing the suitcase down on the floor when her fingers got caught in between the handles.
"Aiii!" She yelped, rapidly waving her hand in the air to wear off the initial sting.
"Twinkle dhiyan se yaar!" He immediately, and unnecessarily, panicked taking a step towards her. Seeing the anger still evidently floating in her eyes, he stopped in his tracks and turned his attention towards the two suitcases instead. They needed to be kept aside so he pushed them into the corner of the room before addressing his jhalli wife again.
"Mujhe bula leti Twinkle. Khud se bilawaja itna bhari saman kyun utha rahi thi?" He questioned angrily.
"Meri marzi." She replied monotonously turning away from him, he grasped her arm and instantly pulled her back towards him so that she stood facing him now.
"Tujhe pata hai na mujhe nahin pasand ki tu mere hote hue kuch bhi aisa kare jisse tujhe chot lag sakti hai?" He spoke with concern echoing in his words.
"Main hi har cheez ka khayal rakhoon?" She replied back annoyed, trying to free herself of his grip.
"Maine aisa toh nahin kaha." He conveyed gently.
"Waisa bhi toh nahin kaha na." She counter argued.
Kunj closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. "Twinkle. I'm Sorry." He finally spoke, slowly pulling her closer to him, his wife now embraced in his arms.
"Mujhe thoda khayal rakhna chahiye tha. Aise roothna nahin chahiye tha." He began to clarify himself, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. Seeing the conflicting emotions whirling in Twinkle's eyes, he was sure he didn't need to try much harder.
"Mujhe bhi tumpe pillows nahi pehkne chahiye the." She replied back giving in to apology.
"Nahin, it's okay. Maine Bebe ke samne tujhe kusoorwar tehra diya tha na? Thodi si punishment toh milni chahiye thi mujhe." He told her jokingly to which she gave a small smile.
She felt his hot breath wash over her due to their close proximity and naturally closed her eyes awaiting what seemed to be the appropriate action to take after such a turn of events.
"Tu London tho chal rahi hai na?"
She opened her eyes abruptly to see the concern swimming in his eyes from her earlier threat. "Kya?"
"Tu chale gi na? Tu sach mein tho nahin rukh rahi na?" He innocently asked.
"Kunj...", She started to say, cupping his face with her hands. "Of course chalungi tumhare saath. Har cheez ko subah se double check ainvayi thodi kar rahi thi." She smiled at him and sensing that he was reassured by her words, she tried to wriggle out of his grasp.
"Kahan chali?" He teasingly asked her but stopped, noticing the slight change in her expressions.
"Acha sunn na..."
"Haan bolo."
"Abb tho de de."
"Kya?"
"Kiss. Jis ke liye subah se tarsa rahi hai"
"Kiss chahiye?" She slid her hands up to his chest and playfully toyed with the top button of his shirt.
"Hmmm." His tone reflected the giddiness of a child and Twinkle bit back her laughter seeing her husband so eager and excited.
"Tho phir darwaza tho band karo. Aisa pheka sa kiss thodi doon gi apne tarse hue pati ko." She told him with mischievousness playing in her eyes.
"Ohhh. Abhi karta hoon." He replied immediately, his excitement obvious in his tone.

Kunj helped the driver load the luggage into the car until Twinkle decided to grace him with her presence, only half an hour later than the time he had asked her to be ready by. She was clad in a pair of denim jeans accompanied by a pink coloured peasant top which made her appear livelier and younger than when she was dressed in traditional attire. London already seemed like a great idea to Kunj and they hadn't even left Amritsar yet!
"Wah Twinkle! Improvement ho rahi hai ahista ahista." He joked with her.
"Maine kaha tha na. Tayaar hone mein zyada time nahin lagaungi." She replied flipping her hair.
Kunj started to move towards her but just as he was about to, the family members collectively gathered outside to bid them goodbye. He nudged Twinkle to go and say her goodbyes to everyone whilst he moved away to answer his ringing phone which had his brother's name flashing across the screen.
"Haan Bhaiya, Dubai se connecting flight hai aur land hote hi aap ko call kar doon ga. Maine cab already book kar diya hai hume airport se pick up karne ke liye. Maa ko bol dena ki tension naa le, main chota bacha nahin hoon ki kho jaunga. Abb tho meri shaadi bhi hogayi hai..." Kunj joked to Anand.
Disconnecting the call, Kunj turned to see the Taneja's lined up together to wish him their final goodbyes.
"Kunj puttar, hamari Twinkle ka khayal rakhna." Mamaji spoke, blessing Kunj with a tight hug
"Take lots of the care haan Kunj. Aur hamari Twinkle baby ko bohot pamper karna, hai naa Twinkle?", Pinni Mami chirped in, engulfing Twinkle in a hug once more. She handed her a list from the back and whispered as quietly as possible, "Yeh meri shopping ki list hai. Apne Mamu ko nahi batana!"
"Meri pyaari si P-Mami!", Twinkle agreed laughingly as Kunj nodded his head in assurance.
"Jeejs aap na mujhe call karte rehna. Twinkle di ko tho hum yaad rehne nahin wale. London jha ke hum sab ko bhool jayengi." Bubby sulked to her favourite brother-in-law.
"Soch le Bubbly. Tere liye gifts nahin bhejwaon gi agar aise kahe go tho!" Twinkle interjected trying to lighten up the emotional atmosphere.
"Tum dono bhi na!" Leela lovingly shook her head at their antics as she approached the duo with Bebe by her side. "Puttar dhiyan rakhna, khud ka bhi." Kunj smiled and bent down to touch her feet.
"Aur yeh mere sabse pyaare bete ke liye ladoo ka dabaa hai." Bebe exclaimed showing them all a box filled with the delightful sweets.
"Bebe aise thodi na app meri Babe ho!" He teased her, receiving a light slap to the head but she eventually handed over the box to his waiting hands.
"Haan haan! Woh toh mein hoon hi. Ab pohanch ke phone kar dena aur meri nuh ka bohot khayal rakhna!" She reminded him for the umpteenth time.
"Ji Bebe." Kunj nodded, opening the box excitedly and stuffing a whole ladoo into his mouth.
"Acha ab hum chaltein hain. Bebe aap Tauji ke ghar aate hi papa ko phone kar dena. Woh pareshaan ho rahe the ke aap akeli ho ghar par." This time Kunj reminded her for the umpteenth time.
Sharing a final round of goodbyes, Twinkle and Kunj waved as the car drove off leaving behind the house where they had begun their married lives together, where they had fought with each other uncontrollably but loved each other unconditionally too. Their bitter-sweet moments now cherished as unforgettable memories as they now embark upon a new journey... A new beginning.
